I made the midstak of bringing a Ruger No.3 Falling Block into this dump. the ditz that runs the place said sure, we can fix it.... but I was at the mercy of the cake decorator they hired as a ... "gunsmith".. that clown hoped to never see this rifle again. I .. me.. an eletric, after a week a learnin, found the proble!m. So, where do I start? I have been going to HNR since it opened. Hillary and gang are awesome, plain and simple. They've been able to get some things I have really wanted and at a reasonable price. I find their friendliness and customer service to be excellent. The selection of firearms is always in flux, if you don't see what you're looking for, ask. Not a full service gunsmith. I requested the gunsmith remove the rust and any pits in my rifle bore. This is a standard operation for a full service gunsmith. I also requested all four scope mount screw holes be drilled out and tapped from the standard 6-48 to 8-40 thread size to improve scope ring retention and to fix one hole that was stripped. I received the rifle back still full of bright red rust and only one hole tapped oversize, with a bill of $120. I called and spoke to Hillary but the issue was never resolved. To remove bad rust, remove the barrel and pack the breech end with a rag, apply masking tap around the muzzle end but leave the bore open. Dip a slightly under sized bore mop in naval jelly and coat the entire bore, making sure to wear gloves. Immediately clean off the outside of the barrel with soap and water. Leave the naval jelly in the bore 10 min and then push out the cotton swab/ rag that was packed into the breech and pour very hot (not boiling) water down the bore. Dry it and clean it again with a regular bore solvent. Coat with oil and reassemble the rifle. Store in a dry safe. This method will remove rust without removing any metal, but will not remove any pitting. Now your gunsmith knows how to do it. read more

Bad experience, needed scope mounting, magazine and a stock bolt. New rifle, never been shot. Wanted to buy parts. I was looking for a shop that would have everything in stocks. They had nothing that would fit. Told me to leave it for 2 weeks. I had another new barrel and told them to mount it two. Called 2 weeks later, no response. Called again nothing. Went in I was told 2 more weeks. Nothing! Went back in and barrel was somewhere getting a liner??? A new barrel. I was told everything was done but barrel, I wanted it stuff back. Finally got it back absolutely nothing done. Bad communication, lied to me. Never stepping foot in there again. And I bought a scope and 12 Guage. I like keeping my money local but what a bite in the a##. read more

Visited this place of business to sell 3 guns. Upon arriving a very nice lady began asking what I was there for and as we were discussing what I wanted to do the owner who had been on the telephone intervened in the conversation and in a very rude manner took over assisting me. She was Extraordinarily curt and rude. She began working on her computer and telling the lady who was helping me that the prices she had quoted were wrong All the while speaking to all of us in a rude manner. I told her if she was finished I would put my guns away and she said how do you know how much I will pay for them. Then she began to tell me what she would pay for the guns. At this point my friend who was with me and said if I were you I would leave now. Not being able to come to an agreement, I left not because of the price she was willing to pay for the guns but because of her attitude and mannerisms. read more

My wife and I went in there looking for a holster for the new Beretta she didn't buy from them. In spite of that they were extremely polite and eager to help her get the right holster and belt. 1/07/2021 bought a suppressor from HNR and did the paperwork a few days later. Eleven months goes by and I hear nothing. I knew something was wrong. I called the store on 12/07/2021 and wanted them to get me the serial number off the suppressor so I could call the BATFE and inquire what was holding up my approval. I was advised not to do that and that a manager would call me back in a half an hour. I get the call and was informed that my suppressor was "tucked away in the bottom of the safe with some stuff over it but it had the stamp and I could pick it up anytime." Stamp was issued 10/07/2021. I waited two extra months because of the staff's incompetence. There is no telling how many more months I would have had to wait if I wouldn't have called the store. I was not happy about this and inquired why this happened. The owner, Hillary, became defensive and claims she called me two times yet I never got the call or a message. I had to explain that it was I that called them and not the other way around . Unacceptable level of service. No apology, consolation, discount or coupons were offered for their colossal mistake. I regret going to my LGS for a suppressor and it won't happen again. I paid more for it from my LGS and I knew it but I thought the service would be better that the online option. I was dead wrong. Also, ALL their inventory is crazy stupid high priced. If you want rotten service and high prices, then this store is for you. read more

Overall a decent firearm business. I've seen good deals here. That being said, I was very disappointed with their pricing standard when I got a stock cerakoted here. I showed the stock to the owner and was told $40. When they call I'm told $50. I realize it's not much difference, but recent events have made money tight. I've done wood and furniture work for people in the past and quoted prices. I ran into problems unexpected but never added to the price as a result. To me my word is my word, what I tell you is price will be price. Though not a lot more, if I'd known this cheap stock was going to be $50, I doubt I'd had it done. It was a small item and should have been easy to give an exact price by any qualified professional. I'm researching the cerakote procedure and know what is involved and will be doing my own cerakote procedures going forward. Also I've found other businesses that will give a definite price and stick to it if I need work done before I get the equipment to do my own work. read more
