They installed a foundation for a new shed in our backyard earlier this year. Great work, and patient in answering our questions!! We found out that the city requires a 5ft distance from the fence in order to approve construction of a shed. They were responsive and immediately understood what we were asking them to change to the work plan. Our HOA uses them as their primary contractor, which is how we first heard of the company. The shed foundation is perfect and we would highly recommend to any of our neighbors. When we're ready for our next major renovation project, we'll definitely be looking at quotes from these guys. We decided to use the HOA specialists for a rather large renovation. We gutted our master bathroom, moved the toilet, bathtub, and enlarged the shower. The guys were professional, taped everything off, and did a phenomenal job! It's like coming home to a resort everyday! We ran into a few hiccups along the way, and each time, Billy's response was "no problem, we'll take care of it." The job took a bit longer then anticipated, but that was due to the materials being out of stock from the manufacturer. Again, billy said "I'll take care of it," and order larger tiles, and cut them to the size we initially wanted! We even had them enclose a room at the last minute, and not only did he give us a reasonable price, but they also had it done in just a few days. The workers attention to detail is incredible, and when they realized that the texture on the rest of the walls wasn't going to match the texture on the wall they just built, they retextured the rest of the room to match! Incredible company, with a down to earth owner, and employees that take pride in their work! You don't find that very often! Next time we do a renovation, there's only 1 person we're calling! HOA keeps our business clean. We use them for janitorial services. They come five days a week and keep our bathroom clean and stocked with supplies, hallways vacuumed and breakroom tidy. If we have any issues with a clogged toilet. We make a call and like magic one of the HOA representatives come and take care of it. HOA is the second local cleaning service we have used and I can honestly say second is the best. If something needs a little extra TLC we communicate that and it's done. I have recommended HOA to other business for janitorial. At home I have used HOA carpet cleaning and have not been disappointed. The technician knows his craft and tends to the spots on the carpet that are of concern. Overall HOA is great. read more

Because of the fires in Sylmar two months ago, my iron fence needed new paint. They were very busy and they painted my fence about a month after I hired them. They did a very good job and got the payment after the job is done. Overall I am satisfied. read more

This is an updated review, since I have reviewed HOA Specialists Construction Services before as the CFO of our Legends at Cascades Community Association, and Vice-President of our Greens sub-association (Fairways is the other sub-association, where I have been a past Director). Our Community of 40 Buildings (6/4/3 & 2-Plex 2-Story Condominium), 176 Units, spread all over many acres of sloping hillsides, has been served by Billy Susdorf, Ramon and his Crews for many years now as a "Preferred Contractor" (often under competitive RFP bidding conditions) who has managed and completed large numbers of contracts for plumbing installations, upgrades and repairs involving Community wide Master Water Meters and high end whole-building Water Pressure Regulators, repiping copper and pvc pipes; painting our 40 buildings and needed color matching repairs when there is exterior damage; major reconstruction of our many steep slopes drainage systems and V-ditches; repairs of construction block walls and installations of new deep/long concrete retaining walls to shore up and prevent soil erosion that was undermining our condominium pads and walkways; installation of paver/brick decks; repair and refinishing wood building & pool/spa area structures, including many heavy/thick beamed trellises that suffered from rot or wind damage; restoration of damaged condos and/or building structures due to water or wind damage, including repairs to plumbing, interior insulation and dry wall with high quality refinishing; roofing repairs due to wind damage ... just to name some projects off the top of my head. We used HOA a couple years back to remodel our kitchen. Yup, years later, we still LOVE our updated kitchen! We decided to keep our kitchen cabinets because they were really well done and in good condition. HOA resurfaced and stained them darker. We got new marble countertops, new hinges for everything and new sink. They took out the ugly stove hood and updated it with a modern glass stove hood. HOA has been a pleasure to work with. Dealing with insurance from a flood in our home has been a nightmare, and Billy and everyone associated with HOA has been top notch. Billy was extremely quick in responding, dealt with all necessary insurance paperwork, and more than reasonable with pricing. Wow! They did it again! I knew I could depend on Billy, owner of HOA Specialists Construction Services to deliver on this project. Replacing the side door to the garage presented a more complex undertaking than meets the eye. As a result of said door not being installed correctly when the house was originally built 43 years ago, every bout of rain became a threat - water would freely enter and flood the garage through that side door. The makeshift options I had put into place over the years failed miserably and only offered a temporary stopgap. When the HOA work team showed up at the appointed day and time without Billy, I soon learned I had underestimated their capabilities. Billy's organizational and management skills proved to be superior - the crew had been trained wisely and well and knew just how to proceed on their own. They were selected for this job on the basis of their individual specialties and as such they would come and go throughout the day as removing the old door and installing the new door dictated. The exceptional work on this side door reflected good judgment and attention to detail which characterized the wizardry of this talented team who worked tirelessly and diligently. Cutting through the wall, building the cement step, knocking out the stucco and refining the exterior fitting was all in a day's work by Billy's talented team. I had been looking to remodel my master bathroom for years but I had some pretty high expectations for a 9x9 space. A new vanity, steam generator, extra fans, move the toilet etc. Essentially it was a complete remodel down to the studs. I had received some quotes which made the project more of a fantasy. Then I was referred to Billy at HOA Specialists. Billy came by the house and I explained to him my vision. He told me I would have an estimate via email before the end of the day. I did. And the bid was within my expectations. Far more then I wanted to spend but well within what I would call reasonable. I then had Billy come by a second time to confirm he understood my expectations from the bid and I expressed that I didn't what unexpected expenses or surprises when it came to materials and costs. I remember Billy kinda chuckled and said, "It's a 9x9 space... how much do you think it could change?". Well, Billy pretty much stuck to the bid. I made changes which understandably required some adjustments to the original bid but the cost changes were relatively minimal. My job included a steam shower requiring a steam generator and 220 electrical. A large shower including a large bench, multiple shower heads, completely sealed floor to ceiling glass, full tile work including the shower ceiling, additional electrical and moving the toilet. Ramon was my foreman on the job and was always positive and exceptionally friendly. Before the job started he made a few helpful suggestions and when I inquired whether or not a particular request of mine was possible he would respond with "EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE! I AM RAMON, HOA SPECIALIST!". Ramon wasn't kidding. I must admit sometimes the communication was lacking and I feared certain details would be missed, but Ramon never let me down. Jonathan was the workhorse on the job. He would arrive every day before 9am and sit in his truck until I opened the house for him. Any small detail regarding the position of fixtures, small changes in plumbing, etc. were always implemented even though at times my request may have seemed an afterthought. When Jonathan was on the job I always had great confidence and trust that the quality of work would be excellent and my expectations would be met. Gabino and Lorenzo were the tile guys. They don't speak much... the just do really precise tile work. These 2 guys take pride in their work that far exceeds what I have experienced with past tradesmen. They are deliberate with every single tile and cut. This attention to detail means the job will take a bit longer then my patience wanted, but my appreciation for their excellent work overshadowed my lack of patience. At the end of the day, my dream bathroom project was made a reality. It's a beautiful mini-spa and I have HOA Specialists to thank. In short, the craftsmanship was excellent. The professionalism and courtesy displayed by their work staff was top notch. When you tear out a 2nd story bathroom it's a messy job. These guys did everything they could to minimize the mess. Was my house dusty at the end of each work day? Absolutely! But it could have been much much worse. I will use Billy and his crew for any future project and I will refer them as often as I can. I waited 30 years to update my kitchen. Billy installed our granite. On installation his workers cracked it right in front of my sink. Every time I do dishes I see it. He had a granite repair guy come to try and fix it. I was told to wait until after the holidays and he would make sure I was happy and install new granite. After the holidays he did not stand by his word. I have had 3 different contractors tell me he should have absolutely replaced the granite. Since this is my first experience with a contractor at the time I didn't know what to do. If you are a homeowners assoc and want a cheap bid with no care to detail or workmanship go head and hire this company. If you value your home and want quality work done by skilled workers look elsewhere. I had a worker here that was picked up on San Fernando Rd. The worker told me that himself. I was mortified.
