I ONLY moved to Hoag because they were close to my home. I'm irate with Hoag for numerous reasons. First, I scheduled a "Full Physical" where the took my weight, blood pressure, and asked me if I smoke or drink. Then, the doctor comes in and looks in my eyes, my throat and my ears; then listens to my heart. He aske me a few general questions and that was it. I was done. I had to request blood work to have my cholesterol checked. This was not a FULL PHYSICAL by any stretch of the imagination. But I guaranty they charged my insurance company grandly. I'm 63 and get a "full" physical every year. THIS WAS NOT A FULL PHYSICAL! Next, I received the results of my blood work via their app. Everything signaled fine w/ exception of my cholesterol level "still" showing signs of being prediabetic. I made an appointment so i could get the new prescription for statin... went... waited in the exam room for 40+ minutes... and had to leave due to work. They asked me if I wanted to setup a Zoom call w/ the doctor. This was irritating as well because that's what I tried to do initially and they said I had to go into the office. So, I set up the Zoom and later met with a doctor. She (as expected) said i should stay on the statin and submitted a prescription. Then, for the next 30 minutes she tried upselling me on Hoag services!!! Hoag submitted a bill for $300+ to my insurance of which they paid $50... and now I have been billed the difference. This is a MEDICAL BILLING DISGRACE that is costing me $250 for absolutely nothing. Then, when I complained via their Hoag system, they wrote back stating that because I agreed to a Zoom Dr call there's nothing they can do about it. Well, maybe nothing they can do... but there's something I can do. I'm giving Hoag both middle fingers and heading back to Providence in Foothill Ranch. "F" Hoag!!!

Eventually, a nurse stepped in and suggested using an iPad to take a picture--such a simple fix that could have saved time and stress. When you're already not feeling well, you expect a smoother and more supportive experience. Unfortunately, this wasn't it.

If he's sick, why did they confirm the appointment yesterday and early this morning? They suddenly canceled three hours before the appointment. When we contacted, they responded, "How about another doctor tomorrow?" Either the clinic is very disorganized, the staff is performing favors for other patients, or the doctor does not know how to conduct his business! How could the office or the doctor treat a new 90-year-old patient in this manner? The specialist at UCI referred him to us. This is completely unprofessional and insensitive. However, my PCP was 20 minutes late. Traffic, I guess. I actually heard her come in so she wasn't just sitting in the office somewhere. I like this office for convenience but if I'm expected to be early, I at least expect the doctor to be on time, especially if they are only spending 10 minutes with me. I was there for my annual physical exam and was told to undress even though I wasn't there for a well woman exam. I do a well woman with my OB/Gyn. Well, it would have been nice to know I didn't need to undress completely. Needless to say, I was examined and then I was given a referral to a specialist when my request for additional testing was denied. The specialist would need to order the additional tests, according to my doctor. I left with my lab order for bloodwork a little miffed that I had to make another appointment but such is the state of the healthcare system these days.

SCKE - Worst Medical Experience - 0/10*…read more My wife and I had a terrible experience at this facility. We were given a 4:00 PM appointment by the doctor herself, yet were made to wait over an hour with no explanation or apology. We were never seen by the doctor, She refused to review recent bloodwork from Hoag ER and instead sent us for new labs unnecessarily, wasting our time and money. This isn't the first issue. A few months ago, this same office ran a thyroid test on my wife and sent us to Hoag ER. Hoag re-ran the test and told us the results from SCKE were completely inaccurate. Two major errors affecting the same patient is unacceptable. Patients deserve respect, accurate testing, and doctors who value their time. We experienced none of that here. I would give minus 0 stars if I could. Do not recommend this facility to anyone. Shahidkarim
