My mother had a consultation over a year ago and was told the office would submit a request to Medi-Cal to determine coverage. After a few months of hearing nothing, I called and was told it had been denied and would be resubmitted. A few months later, I called again and was given the same answer. Each time, I was told the office would contact us with updates, but that never happened. Instead, I had to keep calling to find out the status myself. What frustrated me most was that it took nearly a year to reach the final answer that the treatment was not covered and would need to be paid out of pocket. I completely understand that insurance approvals can be difficult and that offices are busy. I also do not mind paying out of pocket if needed. However, during that year, my mother's infection continued to worsen while we were waiting for updates that never came. My concern is not the insurance decision itself, but the lack of communication and follow-up. I hope the office can improve its tracking and accountability process so that patients are kept informed rather than having to repeatedly reach out on their own.

At 53 years old, I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed along with a bone graft. I was told by many people that recovery at my age would be very difficult, but Dr. Hoang was amazing! On the day of surgery, he made me feel completely comfortable and at ease. My recovery went much better than I expected. I only experienced a little swelling on one side where the impacted tooth and bone graft were done. I truly appreciate everyone for making this such a positive experience. Thank you all so much! Gave me 4 options on what to do at first wisdom teeth consultation, and explained the pros and cons of each. I scheduled a surgery without picking between the 4 options, and still wasn't sure on the day of the surgery. He gave me second consultation before checking in to my surgery to offer advice. When we started, I started blacking out (I couldn't feel any pain, but I have a history of blacking out with shots/needles). Dr gave laughing gas, then completely stopped when it didn't help. I got a full refund, a referral to another office that does full anesthesia, and a care directions package. Office staff was wonderful--accommodating when I arrived late, gave me a water bottle, offered me hygiene products when forgot mine at home.

There was ample parking out front and in the back, and the staff were all very friendly. We didn't feel rushed at all or ignored when we walked in. As we left, we felt a sense of peace knowing her dental issues are finally being resolved.

Despite this office stating it opens at 8:30, no one is ever there on time so my appointments start late. This last time, I did not get in to see the hygienist until 25 minutes after. She asked me to stay even longer after my cleaning was done so the dentist could examine me but he had not arrived yet with no ETA.. One receptionist gives misinformation and the other receptionist is rude and has a bad attitude. I loved Dr. J and don't mind Dr. Andonian but his staff seems to not care about the level of patient care because everything went downhill since this office went under new ownership.

From April to August it took to heal I was desperate to get her help and had to go to another oral surgeon who finally corrected the problem after I didn't feel confident with the original office after 3 follow ups to see if he could help her. The second option Dr finally was able to help My daughter but unfortunately it was 2200 later we had to pay out, about the same to take the wisdom teeth out. The only thing I can say that this office where she got her wisdom teeth pulled reimbursed is 500 so it was something but I really wish this Dr would of been more caring to help us out to correct the issue. I went and saw Dr. Jun, as he was highly recommended and I'm so glad I did! He made me feel at ease about my concerns and feelings of being nervous and anxious about the procedure. He also has such a great and caring team, whom I appreciate dearly! The front gal, Melissa, was so sweet and very clear when presenting fees. The back office staff was also amazing! Leasa and Natalie have such a warm and caring demeanor, by far the best nursing duo!! They both definitely made my experience a good one. The office manager, Kellie, was also so vey nice and caring. I had some laughs with nurse Tony before my procedure as well, he was so great! Dr. Jun did an amazing job with explaining everything that was about to happen, which I so appreciate! He even called me a few hours after my procedure to ensure I was okay and answer any questions, I loved the personal approach!! The office itself was very clean and they have the most up today date technology! The X-ray machine was pretty cool!! All in all I had one of the best dental experiences at Surf City OMS! Had to make a post about this because I genuinely had such a great experience…read more Long story short, my wisdom teeth have been growing in and the pain got progressively worse, but today it became absolutely unbearable. I ended up having to schedule a last-minute emergency procedure to get them removed because I just couldn't take the pain anymore. Not only did California Oral Surgery & Dental Implant Center get me in on such short notice, but the entire team was incredible. This was my first surgery ever, and even though it was a relatively minor procedure, I was honestly pretty nervous. Everyone was so kind, patient, and reassuring, and they made the whole experience feel so seamless. Thank you to the doctors and staff for taking such great care of me and making me feel comfortable every step of the way. I truly appreciate it more than you know. The employees here were really nice and told me honestly how I may feel after my surgery. My sister, which was studying to be a dentist at the time, told me about another option. When I met Thimy, the oral surgery, I asked her about the other option my sister mentioned. She blew up on me. She did not let me talk and got defensive. She was trying to make herself sound experienced by telling me how many years shes been doing surgery and where she went to school. I dont care lady, I was just trying to ask you a question. She kept cutting me off. Bitch thinks she knows it all. I got more annoyed when she started to talk about how I looked and started touching my face. I just came in just for consultation but she kept insisting I do the surgery then and there. She also yelled at her employee in front of me for telling me how I may feel. I told her it was not her employee's fault and walked out. She came running after me to try to say things to make sure other customers in the waiting room could hear her explanation. That's not it. My sister borrowed an Xray and brought it back. The next time she came they claimed she never brought it back and charged her $25. I also came on another occasion with my sister and Thimy was just sitting there with her bald mom. They even brought their dog in. I'm telling you.... UNPROFESSIONAL. Dr Telles is patient centric & giving care is his utmost priority; he left his family dinner and told me to be at his office within 30 mins. My son crashed on his bike, knocking out his front teeth and dislodging others, within hours they were back in place, and we had a path forward to keeping them. We contacted his office after hours and they responded in minutes. Within 30 mins he had his amazing team there and were doing surgery within the hour. I cannot write the amount of gratitude that I have for him and his staff, he has a customer for life. He even followed up the next afternoon to see how my son was doing if he needed anything. I did NOT have any pain after surgery, which I fully expected after having 3 wisdom teeth extracted many years ago, accompanied by dry sockets! Which are very painful! These were not by Dr. Telles. Dr. Telles went the extra mile to ensure I would not have a dry socket, bonus in my book! He was even kind enough to call me later that same evening to check up on me. Who even does that anymore?? Next time, I need a tooth extracted, I'm going to Dr. Telles!
