The update from the city included resurfacing of the basketball court (3 hoops / 1 for little kids), a couple of covered pavilions and a pair of exercise pieces added. The park has two sets of swings - one for little kids and another for bigger kids. There are two sets of playgrounds for under 5 and over 5 age groups. There are a lot of benches and picnic tables under some nice tree cover from the sun. And there is a sidewalk around the entire area for a nice loop by skates, bikes or scooters.

Upgrades to the park were supposed to be made this summer to extend the walking path, add outdoor exercise equipment, resurface the basketball court, and add two new pavilions. This a cute park and there were a lot of people in the neighborhood using it especially now that Palm Beach has moved into phase 2 of reopening and the playgrounds are open. If you are looking for a larger park, I recommend the newly opened nearby Hillsboro El Rio Park South which has a much larger playground, longer exercise paths, and access to El Rio Canal for boats and kayaks.

The Lions Club, a civic organization in Deerfield Beach was formed in 1947. Their first project was…read morethe creation of Pioneer Park on the banks of the Hillsboro Canal. To raise money for the project they had chicken and rib barbecues. These fundraisers were so popular with the community that they have turned into an annual celebration in Deerfield Beach called Founders Day. The Lions Cklub cleared the area for a park and added a baseball diamond, barbecue pit, and picnic area for the community to enjoy. Today the park also has a playground, 180 foot fishing dock, and six lighted tennis courts. The boat launch allows you to enter the Hillsboro Canal and out into the Atlantic Ocean. If you are looking to engage in team sports, water sports, or just need somewhere safe to take the kids to play, this park is your answer.

We walked around the booths first, then evaluated all the food trucks before stopping by the Mexican food truck. After getting our food, sat down underneath the tents and watch the band played. There was a wide variety of food options to enjoy, including hot dogs, jerk chicken, sausages, ice cream, and more, so there was something for everyone. Today we played the silent lake disc golf course and it was a great time yet again…read more I hadn't been in a while so i really didn't know what to expect. i remember last time we had trouble finding the 6th tee box so this time we took a photo of the layout map so we had the course in our pocket. w We started at 830, which can be a busy time of day to tee off. Either it was an off day for the course or what, but we were able get rolling easily. It's a fairly open course. if you can really drive it you had alot of chances at birdie. I'm not strong but with the lack of obstacles i had a good chance at par on every hole. theres only a couple water holes(and I found the drink on both) but otherwise nothing too difficult. We will be coming back around again soon. I left too many extra strokes on the course. we can definitely do better next time.

This is a large park but it's quite passive. There are no ballfields or playground here, just a nice walking trail and open space area. On this Saturday morning when I stopped by, there were some fellow friendly folks who were walking around the park with me. Nice! Leashed dogs are permitted and all that I encountered were also friendly. There is no specific parking, just pull onto the grass but be careful you don't sink in or damage it! Cornell Park is a 3.35 acre passive park located north of Lake Ida Road and west of Swinton, at the…read morecorner of Northwest Ninth Street and Northwest Fourth Avenue in Delray Beach. It doesn't have a parking lot but you can just pull over on the side of the road. The park opened in the summer of 2006 and was created with the input of area residents. It has been kept in a natural state with pine trees and grasses. Residents were concerned about limiting traffic to the community. Instead of a playground, the park has a walking/exercise trail that runs through the park. Some of the path is paved and some of it is natural earth. Unlike the parks in Boca which ban all pets, this park is very dog friendly. They even include poo bags so you can pick up after your pooch. Along the trail are benches and there is a bike rack. I enjoyed walking around and while exercising I saw someone else walking their dog and another person riding their bike. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here but it is a peaceful and safe. The park is open 8 AM until dusk.

Bexley Trail Community Park is located in the Bexley Park neighborhood. The park opened in 2006…read morewhen the city transformed a field of high grass, rocks, and gopher holes into a park. The park was designed by CH2M Hill engineering and construction firm and cost $600,000 with the money coming from a voter-approved bond issue in 2004. The original plan for the land was to relocate Atlantic High School to it but when it was no longer needed for that purpose the developers of Bexley Park purchased it and set it aside for a city park. The 11.2 acre park has 4 picnic pavilions with tables (can be rented), a playground (closed), grills, open area, a paved nature trail around the lake across the street, and a short mulched walk where you may spot threatened gopher tortoises, snakes, butterflies, and birds. The park is owned by the City of Delray Beach so you don't have to live in the neighborhood to visit the park. It is open every day from 8 AM to dusk.
