We've been wanting to reupholster our dining room chairs and wanted to come here to see if they had fabric upholstery but whenever we had free time, it was a Sunday when they're closed. They had rows of different kinds of fabric. We found a row that had duck cloth, which we read about after we got home, that can be used for upholstery. We found a bolt that we both agreed upon and wanted to get a little swatch to see how it would look. It's not a manned area so you have to ring a desk bell and wait for someone to assist you. The girl that came to help us was very nice. She was the same girl I found in another part of the store and asked if they had fabric. She cut a piece for us and told us how much fabric we would need to reupholster 6 chairs. If the fabric looks good with our furniture, we'll be back! read more

I visited Hobby Lobby, in Davie FL, which has twice the floor space and items as other craft stores. This Hobby Lobby is clean and well organized, and the staff is helpful and friendly. I have started going to Hobby Lobby once or twice a month just because of how much I like the store. The prices are fair and they have great sales. The staff is helpful and courteous. They always answer my questions intelligently and even make some suggestions based on my requests. They have so many good, quality products, I just made my first online purchase from their website and that was a great experience as well. I have recommended this store to my friends and family. So just to make clear i am very understanding on policies and return conditions , nor am i trying to be that difficult person. To fill in you in on my disappointment, I went to purchase a pin board (cork) and wanted to customize it a little bit with a fabric. So as stated I went to the store and purchased all the materials necessary to complete the project. After completing the project, I tried to stick some pins into the board, but unfortunately the pins would not hold as the cork would not allow them to stick securely on the cork meaning the cork does not function as it is intended to. So I went in to try to return the board, but since I had already glued the fabric onto the board, it was too late to return as it was not in the original condition of purchase. Now I understand with all logic the return policy, but I find it completely unfair to have purchased something that does not function as needed to and not be able to get my refund. It is like purchasing a pair of scissors that can't cut paper and having to keep the scissors after finding out they cannot cut. I lost in this transaction as I will not be getting my money back, but I am just informing anyone to not purchase any cork related boards from Hobby lobby as they do not function as intended. it's really a shame too because I was really happy how it came out. I think if I wanted to be depressed I'd walk into this hobby lobby. Right from the entrance everything seemed to be miserable. I decided to stop here with my wife because Christmas decorations were 90% off and while it may have seemed like a good idea... It wasn't. It was anarchy, I can only imagine people were lined up out the door because when I walked in at 9:08 AM people had carts full of random Christmas junk and people were just grabbing stuff off the aisles. I found a couple little things but man some people are serious about saving a few dollars. The store overall is nicely lit... That's about it. Everything here seemed to be thrown around and the cashiers at the front, I have never seen people that looked like they couldn't care less working at a place. Decided to stop here with my husband as we heard about some discounted holiday items. Nothing particular that we had in mind but wanted to browse. It was insane. The shelves were basically empty with a couple items left haphazardly on the shelves. 90 percent off majority of the items so I can imagine why shelves would be empty. Holiday items aside, the store itself is massive in size and has a wide variety of different decor items. I was surprised by the lower prices of many items in comparison to Michael's. I found the crafting supplies stock to be ok, as I felt like there wasn't as many decent items offered. The lines were long with only two cashiers working at the time but they were quick. This is a nice craft store but I'm not sure I'd come back again unless I really need to as it is closeby. Additionally, this parking lot is a bit cramped so unless you go early in the morning it's a headache to drive in. I think I'd rather stick to Michael's to cater to any crafting needs/supplies. read more

They had appropriate face coverings and were using hand Sanitizer between checking each person out. The store was clean and had a pretty good stock just a few holes. They had plenty of exceptional sales and a really nice assortment of things from arts and crafts, toys home decor and so much more. My first time at Hobby Lobby and I already can tell why people love it. There were aisles upon aisles of Christmas decorations, around 25-30 aisles!!! I just went to browse and see if there was anything I liked. Although I loved so many things, nothing really stuck out as different or unique. I might need more time, a lunch hour just isn't enough time. I did buy Corn Nuts while waiting at the register for my friend's to pay. I am a crafter. I sew my own clothes, I have so much scrapbook materials to open a small shop, beads for jewelry making galore. In fact I have a craft room in my house and I still manage to have an outside closet full of supplies and stuff in my garage. Hobby Lobby should be heaven to me, but... This place is HUGE! It overwhelms me. I mean they sell everything!! Not just craft materials, but furniture, home decor ect. Isles and isles of stuff. They don't know what they want to be. A fabric store, a party supply store, a Homeggods, like, pick one! And be the best at it. They seems to carry just the basics of each category, which is good as a one stop shop, but bad if you are looking for something in particular. I mean it is nice, you can easily spend the whole day looking at what they have, but don't expect to have a huge variety of say fabric, or beads. The only department I noticed that is huge and carries a lot of variety is their flower department. They have a lot more than Joann Fabrics. Alas, Hobby Lobby is a great place. Every time I'm here there's always a long line at just one or two registers open that move extremely slow. I was stoked that there was finally a Hobby Lobby opening in South Florida, but after a few visits, I'm over it. Even more over it now that Kendall has one too, and I personally like it better there. This location is a cellular dead zone. No service. So if you have a Pinterest idea for a project, save the photos/screenshots before coming inside or you WILL be frustrated. Parking is terrible. Every lane is a one way, and because of the new Whole Foods, it gets super packed. The lot is designed in a way that you would have to circle the entire parameter of the lot to finally get out. When you're there, you'll see what I mean. On top of that, there can be TRAFFIC getting out because the exit is a light, so do expect a pile-up. So much pedestrian traffic as well -- so many people walking from Whole Foods and back, IN FRONT of the only path to get out. So do not come here if you're on time constraint. It is organized inside, I'l give them that. And it helps to have the Hobby Lobby app for the coupons. I guess I'm content that Broward has a Hobby Lobby though. read more

I'm so mixed on this review! Beautiful selection of merchandise! The staff in the back of the store is super friendly and helpful. I have been going there for weekly trips and making quite a few craft purchases! On one of those I needed to return something I purchased that didn't work with my project. It was completely intact and unopened. I keep my receipts digital in my phone so I can throw away the paper copy. It's a full length pdf clear image of the receipt scannable and all! Well walking in to the store the cashier seemed to be in a not so pleasant mood. No smile. No hello. It's ok I'm thinking everyone is entitled to a bad day..... Moving on: I explained I wanted to return this and showed her my digital receipt. Right away she said Nope! We don't take that only an original receipt. Hmm? I said please ask your manager.... Manager came over, smiled and said sure no problem! Stuff like that frustrates me. If you don't know that's ok just ask! It's a learning process, but to right away say No?! Should have gone like this: Hi! How are you today? Oh, you need to return and only have a digital receipt? One moment let me consult with my manager? On another recent trip I bought a $4.99 pendant. Got it home and opened the packaging to find the screws popped off. I went in to exchange it with the same receipt situation. There is a huge selection of seasonal items to decorate your home. There are items that are ready to be put on display and others you can use to make something to display. The staff is friendly and willing to help you find stuff. You can get a 40% off coupon from their webpage and sign up for emails. Only one coupon per visit allowed. There is a large selection of fabrics, picture frames (all 50% off), paints, educational supplies, etc. They also do custom framing. There is a large attached parking lot. If there was heaven for crafters (no pun intended seeing as the owners of this chain are religious) Hobby Lobby is it. It basically takes Michaels, Joann fabrics, pier 1, and party city and mushes them into 1 store. It's unreal. The first time you go in there-bring a friend, a few hundred bucks, and be prepared to spend some time. They aren't open on Sunday and close earlier than most retail stores which is nice for their employees. The customer service is FANTASTIC. I had lost a receipt and was issued store credit for full retail no problem. Sometimes you're given the lowest selling price in the past 45 days in this scenario. The selection of product is out of this world. No matter what your poison-scrap booking, quilts, jewelry, cakes. It's all there and they run sales and coupons very frequently. I think there is a frequent buyer club you can sign up for. Only rarely will I hop over to michaels now (they do have more washi) or party city. The store is well stocked, clean & organized. I could spend hours in there if needed. Some items were pricier than Michael's or Joanns but that's how things work. If you use your coupon it works out. They do not accept competitors coupons. We were there on 6/13. It's a drive for me & the parking lot is horrendous. But, I knew that going in so I accepted that. My only issue & it's a big one for me is the cashiers. Store was semi busy. About 5 to 6 people in one line. I counted 5 employees just standing by the register chatting about themselves. No one calling for back up. Only 1 register open. Our turn comes up & the cashier does not greet us, scans our items & then turns her back to us to continue whispering to another employee that walked up & was just hanging out. They were talking about their schedule & complaining. She handed us our bag & never said anything to us. Like "thank you, have a nice day or come again". They carry the largest surplus of farm house/shabby chic decor, inspirational signs, mirrors, vases, pillows, throws, rugs, candles, pottery, diffusers, fragrance warmers and the list goes on and on! They have a fabric department with someone always ready to help cut your selections to measure. There's a large frame department, silk flowers and plants, DIY crafts, jewelry, art supplies and learning toys. They also offer some unique furniture pieces (always 30% off marked price). For a 40% coupon on an item of your choice, you can log on to www.hobbylobby.com, shop their weekly ad, and save even more on seasonal markdowns in the store. My location of choice is the Davie one, next to Whole Foods. The store associates are very helpful and they are busy bees, keeping the store clean and well merchandised. As I walked around I encountered 3 different employees who were wearing their masks blow their nose which as everyone knows by now makes the mask pretty much useless. Hobby Lobby is not what it used to be. At least this one isn't like the ones we used to go. First of all, when you walk in, the store is a mess. The floors are dirty and the shelves are in chaos. The people have not been very helpful, either. I used to love to go here, to find all sorts of things, but after a few trips to this one, I've been disappointed every time. I keep finding rows of empty shelves and lots of damaged items. The only area that has much selection is the yarns. Luckily that's what I went for. As far as the prices, they are about average, but not worth driving to Davie. They need to clean up, organize and give their employees some lessons on how to treat customers. Today, we had to wait in line for an extra 5 min. or so, while the clerk had a personal chat with the woman in front of us. That's just not an acceptable way to do business. read more

I have heard of this store and have passed by a few times but just assumed that it was a store for people who like model airplanes, etc. I don't know where I got that idea but luckily a friend told me to check them out when I became frustrated with their competitor located down the road. My first impression was shock! This store is larger than expected and luckily very organized. I was happy to see not only options but quantity! Seriously. If I'm planning a party it's more than likely that I need more than just one or two of any particular item. The staff was not only polite but were able to answer questions and at time make suggestions. One employee who's name I failed to get (silly me) was so amazing. I crossed paths with her several times and she always had a smile on her face and was so charming when assisting customers. Within minutes I was able to find everything I needed and some items I didn't know I needed! The clearance section is a must when you're in this store! I was looking for a large frame and stumbled upon a steal at $3.80 (originally priced at $194). Score! The store has plenty of sales during the week and I'm talking about real sales. They have 50% off and 40% off and I found their prices to be reasonable. I spent about four hours on my first visit and can definitely see myself making a day of it on my next visit. I've been shopping at Hobby Lobby for practically forever. However when I moved here there weren't any locations around me, so when this location opened last year, it was pretty exciting to have a decent craft store again. The store is located in a fairly busy little strip center with a Whole Foods and a Bed Bath and Beyond in the same complex. When I walked into the store the first time, it was kind of a ghost town with a couple women up front at the registers chatting and no customers around. Since I've now been here a few times it does seem like business has picked up a little which is good for the store. I got some great deals on fake flowers which on sale were priced at $1/ea., and you can always check what's on sale through the smartphone app. They also have a coupon in the app for 40% off a regular priced item. I don't know if the coupon changes but Hobby Lobby does seem to update the weekly deals. As much as I don't agree with the political views and stance on benefits that Hobby Lobby has voiced, I do shop here because they are usually priced lower on things like framing, fake flowers, and yarn compared to Michael's and JoAnn's. read more

Yet, somehow I'm fascinated by all the things I could do if I were any of those things. Today, I was here to buy a frame for a painting. I knew from shopping around that Hobby Lobby was way cheaper than Michael's for open backed frames. I don't know if that's true for custom framing, or if the quality is similar. They had about 20 different frames for me to choose from for the size I needed. I got what I wanted and was happy. I waited in line at the register for about 5 minutes. The clerk was polite and friendly. Here's the thing. The location of this store stinks if that is the only place you want to go. It's next to the new Whole Foods and across from the Tower Shops and Costco. Traffic is horrendous and the parking lot is a zoo. I went here on a Tuesday morning while on vacation just to minimize the hassle. I would never, ever, ever go here on the weekend, at lunchtime, or right after work. read more

Other Registers opened and instead of delegating customers that were on line, her excuse was she was gonna do that. If there was a heaven or theme park for crafters you have definitely reached it. I've never been into this chain store before so the first time I stepped into this store I was quite overwhelmed. I believe this was the first store that opened in the South Florida area. This store is located where the old Kmart store was and next to the soon to be Whole Foods Market. This store by far more organized and the staff more helpful than all others. They offer coupons as well. But do not accept competitor coupons. Therefor I still go to Michaels across the way at the Tower Shops. Be prepared to spend some time in here. There aren't opened on Sunday by the way. read more
