A warehouse of hobby goodies, for ever occasion but especially for Christmas. At least when I went, a good 40% of the store was dedicated to Christmas. If you want to browse, you could spend hours here. However if you want something specific -ASK. I had something special I needed for an art project and I could not find it. I've lived in Valdosta for most of my life and I remember that this lot used to be where the old small Wal-Mart stood. After graduating from college out of state, I came back to my hometown for a visit and discovered that they coverted this building into a Hobby Lobby! I had never heard of this store before yet I was thrilled that it was like a major arts and crafts place like the old Carolina Pottery that used to be across the street and in Lake Park. It is like Michael's and JoAnn's thrown together. MAJOR. I always make an effort to come by HL everytime I come to visit my hometown. HL has a wide variety of artificial flowers and plants, much more than Michael's has. They also do carry a huuuuge selection of home and yard decoration, some small furniture pieces. If you need sewing accessories and maybe some fat quarters, HL has a great range of fabric. Got painting skills? They carry canvases, all types of art papers, paint, markers, water colors, etc and everything an artist needs. I am really jealous that Valdosta has a HL cause where I live now (Palm Beach County) does not!!!!!!!! The only complaint I have is sometimes the workers at the register are so enthralled with their phones, texting, and sharing photos off of their phones with other workers while there are customers waiting and waiting in line to check out! I've had to wave down a couple of them while they were "busy" looking at each other's cell phones and saying "awwww that is soooo cute"...... *attn HL manager* please have your workers NOT bring their cell phones with them into the workplace if you want your customers to be happy and if you want to make money! Today I was shopping with my mom store hadn't been open long so not busy at all. We went to go checkout only one person was at the register checking out so we got in line coming from the front in the side of the flower section no one else was in line yet, someone was way down at the very end starting to walk up but she stopped to look at the books so not yet in line so we walked up behind the lady who was being checked out at the time. The employee who's name was Vivianna was checking out a customer rudely told us we had to move because there was a line that was started already which there had not been. The lady who was looking at the books finally walks up and right behind her another lady and her 2 kids none of them were in line when we walked up. My mom told Vivianna that no one was actually in line when we walked up and she tried to argue with her and gave attitude about the situation and she did all this in front of other cisterns. We should've asked to speak to a manager at that point because her whole behavior was unacceptable. Her job is to ring people up that's it. Honestly idk what's happened to this location lately employees have become so rude lately. And for a company who claims to be Christian maybe they need to have a better eye on their employees and their behavior. I bought a item a week ago, it was a LED lamp, I had it for less than a week and the item just stopped working. I called the store and they informed me that I could return the item and they could look the purchase up with no problem with my Credit card. No box was needed just the item and it would be a no hassle process. They also didnt have anymore of the items in store, after being on hold for 15 minutes, so I would have to order it, that i was fine with because it was still on sale. I went in that next morning to return the item and I was met with nothing but attitude and questions that I had to answer multiple times by 3 different employees. I kept getting just off remarks about they dont even sell that product here and were looking for reasons to turn my return away. Finally after talking wtih them to look up my purchase they did and they were able to find the purchase and my wife found the exact item i purchased in the location where I told them I got it from. Then they didnt want to honor the sell price on the tag that was still active on that day until I had to point it out to her that the tag was on the box as well and she was reading the wrong tag. I will not be going back to that store for anything else I need. I will just wait for online order or find another store in town read more

The store and its selection was great. However the restrooms are atrocious!! Seriously, for a store brand that is supposed to be so family/Christian oriented I was disgusted to take my young daughter in to the restroom. It is dirty and looks like it has been dirty for a long time! The other issue was the employee sweeping the floor. I literally had to run from him, he followed us down like 3 aisles...so much for shopping... spending a week in valdosta, you quickly grow tired of super wal-mart runs, and bb guns in the backyard. when we spotted hobby lobby, my brother and i imagined a massive emporium of crazy hobby equipment - hunting, models, camping etc. this place occupies the old (non super) wal-mart, so there was more than enough room for cool random shit. what we were greeted with was a 2nd rate jo-anne fabrics. no model cars, no crazy fishing equipment and definitely no guns. wtf georgia. we know you have more interesting hobbies than this. read more

The store lives up to it's name. Whether your hobby is arts and crafts, knitting, or building cars, Hobby Lobby has you covered. I've bought a lot of cute home decor items from there. There's always a half-off sale for home decor, which leads me to believe the stuff is really only worth the 50% off price. I mainly shop here for yarn, which is fairly priced. read more

I do not pay much attention to the constant hymns being played in the store, but if a store claims to be a Christian establishment, its policies should be honest. Today, I was looking for some decorative items for a bedroom and found a 50% off sale of wall decor and framed art. In the nautical section, 50% off signs were posted on both ends of the short shelf. I chose a small wooded "lifesaver" ring with a rope hanger and a 6" mirror in the center priced at $44.95. When I got to the register, the clerk refused to sell it at the 50% price. I challenged the price and a supervisor was called. She informed me that it is store policy to mix in similar non-sale items with the sale items and that the item was a mirror, not wall decor. I pointed out how dishonest this policy is, but she wouldn't budge. Needless to say, I walked out of the dishonest "Christian" store. read more

I always find what I need here for crafts that I do at church with my boys and girls group. The kids love the stuff that I pick up that help create things like Popsicle stick scarecrows, etc. I love shopping for party plates and napkins, and I love the baking section. Their seasonal items are awesome too! I would highly recommend this chain because they always have sales and coupons! read more
