Well! Wow. I am so glad that the Universe sent me to this shop! I had an intuitive nudge to grab a City Paper and there was the shop... I visited it a month later. Unique. Fun. Dynamic. Great options for crystals, incense, tarot.... Amazing in house crafted mist sprays, oils... the list goes on. Would be an awesome shop for gifts! I was impressed and enthused by the vibe here. Small occult shop with tons to look at. I've had my eye on their witch starter kit to get everything I needed in one go. For months I've been getting little things here and there but this was the best choice I could have made. The thought and energy put into the box speaks for itself the second you open it. The gentleman working was very welcoming and knew his stuff. I had the pleasure of watching him get a spell together for another customer. He was very detailed in the instructions for them. Wasn't very welcoming or big. I was asked not to take pictures which took a star away. My gf and I were the only 2 people in there, I was spending $22 on pretty stones and she has spent at least a grand there on oils, glass, candles, books, and what not. Touristy hipsters wandered in to check it out while we were checking out. Every time the door opens you have to move so they can get in or out. The 7 of us in there pretty much made it impossible to move around and people had to squish together so we could open the door to leave. read more

I went in with a friend and was amazed of all the products they have. The floor, walls, and ceiling add a certain character, and the lighting provided a more intimate atmosphere. I was never aware of how many different products were available in a metaphysical/apothecary shop. They had books, stones, tarot cards, herbals, and more things I never knew existed. The staff were eager to help and answer any questions I had, and catered to someone like me who knew nothing about those products. They seemed to have a good amount of regular customers come in when I stopped by with my friend. I noticed a balcony on the 2nd floor, and when going up the stairs could see all the tattoo albums and artwork examples. The lady there has an extensive client base too! So... I had been having some negative and spooky stuff occurring in my apartment. I'm typically very skeptical of stuff like this, but these things were really hard to ignore. They left me feeling uneasy and unsafe and I feel lame saying this, but I know they weren't structural problems. They were just inexplicable and I ended up talking to a medium who sent me here. I was a little nervous because I'd never been here before and I didn't know what kind of reaction my "experiences" were going to get from those working here. Well, not only was I met with kindness, I was instructed on what to do and what to purchase to help my feelings in my house. They talked to me for a while and the clerk helped me as much as he could and told me the days to use my products and to come back if they weren't effective. We removed a couple of creepy objects from the basement and did what we were told and we haven't had an incident in days. All for under $10. Big "Thank you." read more

Such an amazing place. The vibe is very witchy & cool. Got some herbs & was greatly impressed that they had some hard to find herbs like dittany, cinquefoil, & solomon's seal. The quality is fresh & the prices were awesome! Great resource for those of us that use herbs, flowers, roots, & resins in their practice. They have some really cool root magic items for sale - like Adam & Eve Root and lucky hand root, along with goofer dust (can't wait to use this one). Years ago, Hocus Pocus was a legit herbalist establishment with all kinds of resources for tarot card reading, esoteric materials and a plethora of other unconventional methods of the occult. Now-a-days, they have a tattoo parlor upstairs in the open air of majorly significant floor paining on the first floor, a collection of Penis candles, a sub par and a staff that frowns upon and disincentives any open exploration of the subject matter they are supposed to be representing. It depends on who is working. Some of the staff know what they ar talking about but others are rude, arrogant and uninviting. GO BACK TO YOUR ROOTS! read more

This place is awful on several levels. First the stock. There is barely anything! I get that it is a small store but the tiny stock was sad. Their herb selection seemed ok but the person working the desk/front end made us so unwelcome and unwanted I was too uncomfortable to ask about prices or types. Second:atmosphere. If you are into a ~spooky~ 90's Hot Topic vibe then you might like this place. You will be followed around the tiny shop like you are a criminal and have "not for sale!" Barked at you. Thirdly: if you post a negative review on Facebook they will flag it and try to get your account disabled. If their shop was so good and or their magic and faith so great they wouldn't need to try and hide negative reviews. If they had business sense they would address the concerns of unhappy customers. read more
