I called this office two years ago based on a recommendation from a friend. I had a tenant who who…read morewas trying to purchase the home she was currently renting from us. I got 3 recommendations and Patti Hale's office was the first office I called. I explained to Ms. Hale that I was trying to find someone who would be very patient and 'gentle' and fully guide the tenant through the process. Let me emphasize - I COMPLETELY understood that the tenant would be Homestar's client - NOT me and that for privacy reasons, Homestar would not be able to communicate details with me. I put the two of them together and that was it. That was a huge mistake on my part. I sincerely wish that I'd just told the tenant to just find someone on her own, but she asked for my help and she had been a very good tenant. When I spoke to Ms. Hale - she was so sweet and so kind that I thought the two of them would work well together. But the entire experience was awful. Ms. Hale was uncommunicative. She had some things happen that caused her to be out of the office and I'm sympathetic to that. But even her staff refused to respond to emails and phone calls. Keep in mind - the tenant would call her office - then not hear back and because I'd made the introduction - the tenant would then call me complaining that she couldn't get a call back. So then I would try to call her - and I would have the same result. I would email her and ask her to call the tenant and she would still not contact the tenant. I finally did a 'pop up' at the office. The desk was unmanned, but I could hear someone moving around near the back of the office space. I sat in the front for about 10 minutes, then finally walked towards the back saying "Hello" and Ms. Hale came out and greeted me. She explained that she had been out of the office - but had no explanation for the others in the office not returning calls. That was the last time I ever spoke to her verbally. She did make contact with the tenant after my visit, but within a few weeks - the unreturned phone calls and ignored emails started back up again. Ultimately the deal fell apart - and it became a situation where the tenant was not comfortable moving forward. During my final email communication with Ms. Hale, she kept 'reminding' me that she could not discuss details with me for privacy reasons. I found this insanely frustrating because I KEPT telling Ms. Hale that I did not want details, that I simply wanted her to call the tenant because the tenant had questions or didn't understand something and when she couldn't reach Ms. Hale, she called me. Before anyone private messages me saying that my expectations were unreasonable. Please be advised - I told Ms. Hale, at the onset, that the tenant was completely new to the homebuying process and would need a lot of guidance and hand-holding. And even though I am a homeowner, it's been over 20 years since I purchased my home - so me giving her advice would be like the blind leading the blind. Add to that - it felt like a bit of a conflict of interest for me to give the tenant too much 'advice.' Ms. Hale assured me that it would not be a problem. I certainly learned my lesson - and I will NEVER try to help anyone out in this manner again, but I absolutely believe that Homestar contributed to this situation by their lack of professionalism and responsiveness.

I have these really noisy neighbors right above me, a family of 5 ( 3 young children), plus at least 2 dogs. I don't know what they drop on the floor that makes my bedroom windows shake, day or night, it sounds like they're dragging furniture anytime of the day or night. I've complained to the leasing office (management) many times, as soon as I moved in, but to be honest I seriously don't think they do anything about it because they continue making loud noises. Leasing office people just tell me they will take care of it yet neighbors are still very loud and noisy. I understand they are children but seriously? Our upstairs neighbors have NO consideration. I've been losing sleep, can't concentrate at work due to lack of sleep, it's definitely affecting me. Don't even know if the leasing office can move us to another unit, not even sure if it's worth the move. My leasing contract of 2 years ends this December 2026, maybe I can just wait a little longer. I even tried earplugs, they're so loud that I can still hear all the loud noise. I'm very disappointed with these apartments. I'm trying to find a phone number where I can complain to besides the leasing office (management), I'm sure I'll find. Too bad I found out about the noisy neighbors above me after I signed the 2 year contract, I'm sure the leasing office knew very well where they were getting me into, either way shame on them. It's too bad there is poor management in these apartment complex, the apartments look nice, but that's all. I can't wait to move out and finally have some peace and quiet

I have neighbors above us that are REALLY noisy, a big family live upstairs, four very young children and a dog(s), sounds like they're ALWAYS dragging/moving heavy furniture even at late night, my bedroom walls and windows shake, yes that bad, and other loud noises such as stomping on floor, running, dropping heavy things, my poor cats hide because the loud noises scare them. I don't have any peace at all here. I've already called the leasing office to complain but they don't seem to do anything about it. Unfortunately we have a two year lease contract here, and it's been only six months it's no wonder they showed us an apartment on the 3rd floor instead of the one they rented us, because if I would of heard all the noises from the neighbors upstairs of the apartment where we're at now, I would have not taken it! So yes they knew from leasing office what they were doing, and I'm very upset and disappointed. If I could I would move out ASAP but to be able to do that I would have to pay them an early contract termination fee of almost the same amount that I paid just to move in. Oh and my noisy neighbors upstairs are not the only reason why I want to move out, also poor management. If you're interested moving in here, DON'T, if you do you'll regret it, like I have

There is mold growing in my bathroom vent and i've had a service request in for over two weeks with no response. I've gotta go to the office but with my work schedule, it's nearly impossible to get someone. Plus, half the time, the "out to lunch" sign is always hanging up for hours on end.. I can't even say one good thing about this place. It's so expensive for such shit appliances/maintenance. Oh yeah, i don't even have a working dish washer either..

Don't move here. It's lipstick on a pig. The places look nice, but the property management company…read moredoesn't fix anything. I have now lived here for just about 3 years and I've had enough. We had a PM change and the property is now being neglected by Pegasus. I've had my air conditioners breakdown no less than 4 times - I think I'm at 5 now. The previous times I was told that my unit was 'out of freon', and yet the unit wasn't replaced. They just add more and I have to submit a new service request a few months later. This time I'm at my wits end with it. With the heat, I gave grace for the heat to be causing the lack of cooling on my units, but when I'm sleeping in my guest bedroom with blackout curtains and the air set to 68 degrees with the door closed, it should be cool, and it's not. I'm told that my air conditioner won't 'cool to that temperature with the heat'. Perhaps that person doesn't understand how thermostats work, but I certainly do. Among the above issue with, I'm clearly currently experiencing and is the biggest concern I have at the moment, there are a myriad of other problems just that continue to grow. Our pool - which we now pay an extra $25/month for in rent has been closed for most of the year and the better part of the summer. Opening again a few weeks ago and then closing back down - it was July. While yes, the pool is now open, it's poorly maintained and rarely cleaned. The breezeways are disgusting, we have 'valet' trash that comes inconsistently at this point, so IF they pick up your trash it's a lucky day. That also means that the cement is stained with the stench and the look of rotting garbage. I myself just went a week without pick up, and have bleached down mine. Our previous property management company had regularly scheduled power-washing. That is when I moved in in 2023, but since this change in management approximately 2 years ago, that has only happened once. There have been multiple times when tenants have been evicted and the garbage they leave stacked outside sits for weeks or months in some cases, just rotting, and stinking and no matter how much you appeal for them to clean it up, they don't. They can't keep handy staff because they simply don't pay these guys enough to address the issues that mount - so I don't fault them, but I do fault the management and the corporation for not advocating for the wellbeing of those of us paying $1,600 or more to live here (because they rack up those fees BAY-BE). The dog park is never cleaned, the mulch doesn't get replaced and in the summer heat after rain it smells like hot wet dog waste. It's disgusting, and it goes entirely unaddressed. The management team is quick to issue excuses, and I'm sure they are incredibly limited by the budget they are given but that's not an excuse. There is nothing luxury about this apartment complex. It's a pig, wearing lipstick, that just rolled in it's own feces. Don't live here. Save yourself the trouble.

The house was in need of many repairs and updates . The patio door doesn't lock, we found dirty dishes in the cabinets, exhaust fans in both bathrooms didn't work , the toilet had a note to jiggle the handle when it started running instead of fixing it, blinds were missing slats, we were given one towel per person for weeks stay , most importantly a family member fell in the shower because we were left a note to squeegee the shower walls and door after each use and my handicap family member fell. Not one person from Parker Kaufman ask how she was or is and because I ask for a partial refund for our troubles I was called a bully and extortionist. BEWARE !!!!

Our tub had no drain plug for baths, the tub nozzles had to turn 15 times to get hot water, the sink handle was 30+yo cracked yellowing plastic. The oven was over 30 years old & no working temp control; better off cooking over a lightbulb! Ruined every meal attempted. Kitchen in general was a joke, with 9sqft of counter, cabinet & mini-sink space. We walked the campground with envy for those lodging there! To top it off, the condo maintenance said the unit had no repeater & without it, it was impossible to receive the WiFi from the complex. Therefore Parker-Kaufman's advertised WiFi was not possibly available in our unit. We emailed asking for compensation to go buy & install a repeater to leave in the unit after our stay so this could be corrected for future renters. No reply. Needing to get online for work, we followed up by calling, expecting an apology for the mistake. Instead, we were surprised at the anger & defensive nastiness with which Stacy (Stacey?) spoke to me & my husband, due to an issue for which we provided a solution. Stacy confirmed she had read our emails clarifying the issues, yet instead of doing anything to resolve our issues, she came at us with a raised, angry voice, claiming "In the terms of our contract, we can't guarantee internet service". It was not only ignorant of the facts we verified with condo maintenance, but her angry tone, & yelling were outright abusive, and completely inappropriate for a business transaction. Stacy made clear that Parker-Kaufman did not care about the quality of our stay, nor do they resolve any issue. We tried to reiterate the facts to educate Stacy that without a repeater in our unit, it is impossible for the signal to get into the unit. Having no repeater will prevent WiFi service in the unit. This is not a matter of a signal down, this is a FACT that no signal can physically get into the unit without a repeater device. The unit was stripped of a repeater. Therefore, without a repeater, the condo CANNOT receive any WiFi internet. Stacy refused to listen to these facts, & decided to yell the same inapplicable nonsense about her terms at us over & over. She claimed that Parker-Kaufman is not responsible for the internet provider not working, but it was beside the point. Parker-Kaufman advertises WiFi, but then strips the unit of it's ability to receive any WiFi; as condo maintenance said, every unit there had a repeater in order to receive WiFi, except that one. I told Stacy it seemed like she got on the phone prepared to fight instead of ready to help us. When I asked Stacy to calm down and stop speaking to us so rudely, Stacy got even ruder! I asked why Stacy wasn't listening to our actual facts, & literally talking over me, but Stacy just kept talking over me. When I asked why Stacy was being so nasty & mean, Stacy just kept being nasty & mean. It really made no sense the attitude Stacy gave us, with zero effort at resolving anything. It seemed like this is something Stacy does on a regular basis, perhaps because being a disgusting belligerent bully gets her her way? I'm sorry Stacy is inept at handling customer relations, but these issues helped destroy our stay, & prevented us from doing our jobs. Stacy pointed out that in her opinion we should be off enjoying the beach. It should go without saying that what we do during our rental stay is none of Stacy's business & should never be a part of a professional conversation. Thank you for Stacy's personal opinion, delivered as a rude & judgy lecture, but we booked three weeks, & our jobs do not allow us to be completely disconnected & away from them that long. Period. When we also brought up the cleaning issue we emailed about, again, we got zero apology & zero help from Stacy. Instead, in the most dramatic exasperated loud tone, she said "Oh, now there's another issue!" We have never been spoken to this way by ANY rental company, nor any business we interact with, & in our 4 years (19 prior weeks) renting from Jekyll Realty we have never had anyone raise their voice, let alone speak to us with abusive rudeness. Jay Kaufman replied after we informed them we would need resolution via the Attorney General, & he begrudgingly offered to comp us for installing a repeater. He never made any apology. He ignored everything about the uncleanliness & tried to claim he was not informed despite multiple emails & our phone call with his brute GA bulldog, Stacy. He then held onto our refund for FIVE WEEKS before sending it. What unnecessarily antagonistic & unprofessional behavior. If you want property misrepresentation (at your expense), lies, filthy rentals, rudeness, trashy people you are forced to deal with, and malicious compliance, help yourself to Parker-Kaufman.
