Next, without boring you with details, I needed truly time sensitive assistance after hours on a Friday. Unfortunately, when I went to pick up my prescriptions, I saw that my physician made an accidental error and sent it to the wrong pharmacy. This was an issue because I am leaving town tomorrow for an extended trip. So, since it was after hours, I called their on-call provider to ask them to resend the prescription. The person helping me was well-meaning but not very educated, and took for--ev--er just to take my info and then send my message for the provider to call me back. I was told that the on call provider would call me back 'within 30 mins. Nothing. 45 mins later, I call again and ask them to mark it 'urgent'. The pharmacy is closing. I truly need my medication before I leave town. Nothing. Another full hour later, I call again, and I'm told my message would be sent to the supervisor who would get back to me immediately. Another full hour later, after it was too late for my time sensitive issue - I got a voicemail. But it was too late. The pharmacy was closed. I now don't have my meds. This is not what I expect from medical care. But I guess maybe I should, sadly. In the extremely rare times that I need after hours help, I would be nice to feel like someone is there. Not these guys.

I usually don't care for the way most doctors treat patients but Allara and Yoon are exceptional, they actually treat patients as patients not numbers. My wife and I have had horrible experiences with medical professionals but never have we had one complaint with Allara and Yoon. These guys understand that all patients are not the same. They understand that what is normal for one patient is not necessarily normal for another. They actually put some thought into your problems instead of just running down a check list. At one time I thought proper medical treatment was no existent North of Boston but after 25+ years of dealing with MFM Health I know that good health care can be found.

Doctors are average at best. Despite telling doctor twice in about a minute I was going to go…read moredirectly to a particular pharmacy and she should fax script there, she sent it somewhere else. And this was minutes before she did it. And acknowledged she heard me. Same doctor misdiagnosed congestive failure. When I went in in June and complained about severe and painful edema with legs and groin swollen at least 3-4 times normal size, she said she didn't see a problem. In September when I told her I couldn't lay down without feeling like I was drowning, so I had serious trouble sleeping, she told me I should lay and my back. No exam, no questions. Less than two weeks later I couldn't walk ten feet without serious breathing problems. Admitted to two different hospitals in October. Feel much better now. Specialist she referred me to is upset my test results are too high. Yet she won't prescribe my meds to normalize them. First time, and only time, I see her she asks if I need any refills. I tell her yes, which ones, and even the dosages and confirmed which pharmacy ; she said okay which to me meant she would take care of it. Pharmacy never heard from her. Furious doesn't even begin to describe how much it bothered me. When I finally calmed down enough to call her, she called in one med but not the other - the one for which my tests were out of whack and I was symptomatic. Never again. I shouldn't have to supervise my doctors like this.

I was told to sign off on a blank electronic pad for an "annual patient update" so I could get a…read morecancer test - w/o being told what was in a form that turned out to be 5 pages long (in Sept. 2025) and that stated the patient would "agree to all tests and all treatments for myself and all my dependents" into perpetuity. When asked if I could please just sign off on the cancer test, they said no -- I had to sign off on everything in the (initially undisclosed) document. So I was refused the cancer test. When I asked why I couldn't just sign off on my doctor-ordered test w/o agreeing to all of the above, I was told, "Because that's what the Legal Dept. wants now." So no more "patient-centered" care - but rather "profit-centered" care. Hence - beware. Don't sign blank electronic pads - get the hard copy and read every single line.

When i arrived, i was told to wait in the lobby. then the receptionist came out and told me my insurance company will not take care of the procedure. hard to believe someone could not have let me know prior to driving 30 minute for the appt. Then i asked her if I pay out of pocket how much would it cost. She said she had no idea. i just had to leave in disgust.

Days later I had remembered I had a Health Savings Account debit card. I decided to call Billing, have them refund the $30 on my credit card and charge the HSA debit instead. The transaction seemed easy. Come to find out, they never refunded the $30 on my credit card, and instead of withdrawing $30 on my debit card, they withdrew $200. I've been calling and using the portal for two weeks - simply requesting Billing to call me. The folks on the portal said Billing would call, but they haven't. Two weeks of silence. My only recourse was to file a report with the Beverly Police Dept. They'll follow up with the NSPG or the Salem Court will. An abysmal experience. I live two hours away and I've chosen here despite the commute because there is no medical center near me that gives the treatment I need so I am, for lack of a better term, downright desperate. After having a prescription given to me almost a year ago, I have been calling for MONTHS to get it authorized by the doctor I saw and nothing productive has happened. Nothing. I've been hung up on twice before, I've been bounced between two offices multiple times to try and reschedule an appointment, I have stated the urgency of how I need what I am there for and still nothing has been done. My experience here has been disgustingly bad and I would urge anyone who is looking for this as a possibility to try other options because it is abhorrent how hard it is to get anything accomplished here. And this isn't even coming from just a solely outside view, I am in the medical field myself. I am extremely disappointed.
