The whole process was informative. Our water heater failed and another contractor told me over the phone how to relight the pilot and he was totally wrong. Since the water heater has about reached its normal lifetime, I checked for a new contractor and found Hoffman plumbing. Steve Loff came to review with me several options and economics for its replacement. He was very detailed in his analysis and convinced me to the best option. I agreed snd he prepared to have it done right away. He was very meticulous in his installation of various pipes and fittings and associated facilities and the main tank. He answered questions that I have as he goes along. I couldn't be more satisfied with the process and its early performances. Well done Steve and Hoffman. read more

Cody and his dad have always been great to work with, and have helped me a number of times with my sewage sump--which seems to have problems right before friends are due for a long weekend. Word of warning: Getting on their schedule is tough. They are always booked-out far in advance, and actual appointment timing can be "fluid." read more

This negative review is entirely based off of our interaction with one single employee. It is regrettable that Cody should negatively reflect upon the entire company. I would love to give Hoffman Plumbing another chance, with a better caliber of employee. We have used them once before with no issues. Not only did the assigned technician fail to show for a scheduled appointment yesterday with no notification but he had the audacity to call today and ask if we still needed a plumber. Square your people away Hoffman Plumbing, it sounded like this laser opened a beer in the background at noon on a weekday! I was in a physical therapy appointment when Cody called and informed him of such. When asked what time I would be home I informed him of a time after my appointment. Initially he agreed to come and then said "That's later in the day, I don't want to. I usually pretend like other appointments run late." I know the labor market is rough in Tahoe but fire this chump, if you're not an asset you're a liability. I was told I should find another plumber. You have an employee actively turning away existing customers. This is very disappointing from a company I was otherwise satisfied with. Please reach out to me to resolve this issue. UPDATE: Following this review I did receive a call from Hoffman Plumbing. It turns out who I thought was a slacker employee is actually the owner. Based off the extremely unprofessional interaction with the dispatcher as wee (including profanity) I would not recommend Hoffman Plumbing. I will be sharing this negative experience with everyone I know. Expect many more negative reviews across multiple platforms. I believe Fred W. without a doubt. Based off the total lack of professionalism and utter disregard for customer service, it does not seem beyond reason this clan of conmen and women would blatantly commit credit card fraud. This is a small local company that does mediocre work, however the biggest issue with them is that once they have your credit card number they begin adding charges long after the job is completed without authorization or notification - probably counting on the fact that people won't dispute them. So be for-warned about their shoddy business practices and choose one of the other more honest local plumbers. (And that's putting it nicely!). PS - Loved the way that Karri in their office lost her temper and cursed us out.......totally unprofessional and rude. Our neighbors witnessed the conversation and chose another company for a major job as a result. UPDATE: The owner indicated that they are amenable to work out issues, however after being cursed out by Karri no one has bothered to reach out to us at all. Very disappointing. read more

Got up to my place after the power had been out for 48 hours to find that the heater and nest system was not working. The house was registering at a whopping 43° and when I left Hoffman plumbing a message it was returned within 10 minutes. Jonas and his team were responsive, polite and assisted me in not freezing to death overnight! I'd recommend them any day of the week. read more

Again Hoffman Plumbing came through for us. We arrived at our Tahoe home in the evening to find out we had a broken valve under the house. The next morning I called Hoffman Plumbing and Kerri was able to fit us in that day. Senior Hoffman and his son quickly took care of the broken valve and even replaced another one so we would avoid more issues in the future. Integrity at its finest! These guys are on it! My house was freezing so I thought my heater was broken. They came right out ti the cabin to let us know it was the propane. I guess with all the snow we burned through it a little quicker that we thought. I really appreciated the quick service that Hoffman plumbing gave us since we typically have to turn our vacation rental over pretty quickly! As far as plumbing they are at the top of our list! Jonas came out on a Saturday to check on a propane leak at the shutoff valve. Confirmed multiple leaks including at the secondary relief valve. I had called Ferrellgas about trying to a replacement and they suggested that we try to take it apart and clean it. Jonas did that and was able to address all the leaks. In addition Jonas suggested we cover the vent leading under our home that is located at the shutoff. I did as he suggested. Great service. Great attitude. Too bad there isn't a 6 star (or higher) rating. We had a plumbing problem today. Hoffman plumbing is very busy this time of year, but when they heard we had to turn off our water they came out anyway. I called them at about 3PM and the problem was solved by 4:30PM.
