This is the worst business I've dealt with in a long time. My boyfriend, who lives in Costa Rica, ordered flowers for my birthday. When you're 2,000 miles away, little gestures like flowers mean a lot when you cannot be there for a special moment. At some point in time on my birthday, he noticed that the order had been refunded to his credit card. When he called in to find out what happened, he was told they were out of the flowers AND that they don't deliver to my address. Of course, by this time in the day, it was too late to order somewhere else. Two days later, after hearing about this, I called in. I spoke directly with the manager, Carol, who I must say was unpleasant from the start. I'm very good about trying to get all sides of a story in a situation like this, so I know my demeanor was neutral to pleasant. There was no reason to speak to me they way she did on the phone. She did, however, tell me that they indeed do deliver to my address, but that they were out of those particular flowers on Monday. I asked why he didn't receive notification of the cancellation, and she said "the lady who uses the computer isn't here, so I don't have an answer for you." The picture is starting to get a little clearer at this point. I called in again today to speak to the "computer lady." I waited while Carol covered the phone and they talked about this order for a few minutes. It was that muffled, phone-against-your-pants scratchy sound. When she thought the phone was covered, I overheard "computer lady" say "he's not gonna yell at me for something I didn't do." When she got on the phone, I repeated her words back to her and asked if that was how she was going to start out the conversation, not having even listened to what I had to say. To her credit, she laughed uncomfortably and had a pleasant demeanor after. At some point it was good ol' Carol on the phone again, trying to blame it on UFN, the third party service that handles the orders. When I told her my boyfriend called and was told they would not deliver to my address, she said "that's not true; he never called here." She proceeded to tell me he must have called UFN and they gave him incorrect info. And of course while keeping her on the phone, I texted him to ask for confirmation of the number. He gave me the direct # to the florist. Well, Carol didn't know what to say then. Suddenly, it could have been someone other than her who answered...Then we were back to "we didn't have the flowers he wanted, so we canceled the order." Way to overlook that inconvenient fact that he could have asked for different flowers when he called in! Trying to eliminate that bogus excuse, I reminded her that their VERY clear policy listed online for ordering flowers says that if they cannot reach you to notify you of unavailable flowers, they reserve the right to substitute with other flowers. This was met with silence, of course. I said perhaps they should update their website if that is not their procedure. I almost felt guilty because every excuse they trotted out, I had a logical response. All Carol wanted to do was deflect blame and tell me she has a business to run and didn't have time to talk to me. Like on Wednesday, she raised her voice several times when I was speaking calmly. What angers me is that they completely failed with their service, and then when contacted about it, they displayed atrocious customer service. None of us like to be wrong, but in those instances when we are, a bit of humility, an apology and some respect are called for. None of that happened. I was continuously talked to like I was a bother, and as if I had done something wrong. I suggest that if you have no other choice but to get flowers from here, don't do it online. Perhaps they are better at in-person orders that don't require any of the online sophistication many of us have been accustomed to for, ohhh, 20 years. And if you do get flowers, you better hope they are perfect because clearly they aren't going to do anything to make if right (as I also see in other reviews below). read more

We got lured in by a sign of "farm market". It's definitely a farm, definitely a market, but not what we pictured with overflowing tables of produce everywhere. Hoffman's is a place stuck in time. A family run farm with a building/store that looks like any old run down junk barn in the rust belt. It's hard to tell where the store ends and the home begins, but I get the vibe that they'd sell anything in that barn to you if you offered the right price. We stopped in to try and get some tomatoes, but found the greenhouse stock to be poorly labelled and in various stages of growth (most not ready to plant). Thus we settled on a few reasonably nice Coleus plants. Pricing was ok, but I've seen cheaper. It looks like they run a decent floral business as well. I might stop back in their u-pick season which they said starts mid-summer. read more

Hoffman's Florist & Greenhouse in Columbus, Ohio is the WORST experience I've ever encountered when attempting to PAY for a service/item. In spite of the fact I received confirmation of my order; the items I PAID for were never delivered to a life long friend on her birthday. No attempt was made by Hoffman's to rectify the situation and the surprise I planned for my friend on her birthday was ruined. They could have cared less and never once apologized or expressed any empathy toward the situation. I was told "The printer didn't print out the order. I can't control a printer so there isn't anything I can do". Horrible customer service. Horrible business practices. Horrible Hoffman's! read more

I have bought flowers from Hoffmans for years and told several friends to go there. I got on line this morning to get the phone number and happened to see reviews. I get so sick of seeing people thrash small business. People compliment me all the time about the flowers I send from Hoffmans. So all you cry babies that have nothing more to do then trash business get a real job you won't have time to be writing reviews. You can trust this florist! They will not disappoint. Beautiful floral arrangement. I even emailed my order from out of state which I was not thrilled about doing as you don't really know which florist is the best. Delightfully surprised at free shipping, too. Most importantly, I wanted the flowers to look as they did in the online photo as the recipient was my new daughter-in-love. They did. Great customer service. My boyfriend lives in Nashville and couldn't make it up to Columbus until after Valentine's Day, so he called an order in to get to my house today, the 13th. I, like most adults, work from 9-5, and they sent someone to deliver the order at 2pm on a Wednesday. I wasn't home (shocking! I know), so they left a note on my door saying to call back. When I did, around 5:30pm, TWO employees/owners were incredibly rude on the phone, as if they were pissed that I had done what was instructed on the card. They said they wouldn't send anyone out to deliver them today but that, "MAYBE they would send someone out tomorrow to deliver them." I politely said, "okay," and called my boyfriend to break the news to him. He decided to call them because he spent a lot of money and wrote an incredibly cute card and was really upset that they dropped the ball. He reported back that the owner chewed him out and canceled the order entirely. We are both extremely disgusted and disappointed with how we were both treated. I would recommend crappy gas station flowers over these jerks. Seriously. read more

Absolutely unacceptable service if I could give zero or negative stars I would. I placed an order that never delivered, when I called to inquire the owner was incredibly rude, over talking me, claiming never to have recieved the order and placed blame back on me only to locate the order that they "somehow" missed. I offered to restart the conversation based on her rude demeanor only to have her be even more rude. When I asked for a refund she refused saying she didnt debit my account, thru several minutes of arguing she then realized it was yet again their error. Versus offering to make it right by reducing the price or even better getting the delivery out she placed blame on her sick husband and said fine you can have your money back. I will never use this florist again nor would I ever refer this type of service. Flower Boutique in Groveport is the BEST and I should have never strayed away. There is no way I will ever order from Hoffman again. I cannot believe how poor the roses looked and how rude the owner was on the phone. I ordered a dozen roses for my girlfriend for valentines and upgraded to the premium set. When they arrived several of the roses where wilted and the dozen roses was actually 11. When I found this out I called the store and was directed to the owner who proceeded to tell me that there is no way that what I was saying was true and that I just didn't want to pay for my flowers. That single statement alone is enough of a reason to never order again but she went on to suggest that someone probably stole the 12th flower or my gf counted wrong. There was, according to her, no way there where only 11 flowers. I'm not one to brag about my income but I can afford $100 of flowers, so to have an owner of a local store accuse me of lying is pretty ridiculous and to accuse a mysterious flower thief of why 1 was missing is just poor business. After she was done making excuses about how none of this was her fault I told her I did expect some compensation for the poor product she produced and she promptly hung up on me. So needless to say I will be ordering from elsewhere next year. read more
