5/17/26 Out of all the places I saw at the Farmers Market at The Mosaic District this past Sunday morning, Hog Heaven Farm's Breakfast Booth caught my attention. Maybe it was the smells of the food. Maybe it was the grass feed animals. Maybe it was the food of a new business I've never tried. Maybe it was the fact I was hungry and I hadn't had breakfast yet. Maybe it's all of these things all rolled up in one. Whatever it is, I wanted it. Everything I saw looked good, but I knew I would not be eating eggs. (A childhood trauma of having to eat them as a kid...disgusting) I ordered a Double Patty Hog Heaven Sandwich with their grass feed bacon. The cheese that goes on the Hog Heaven Sandwich is a gress fed Irish Cheddar Cheese. Something I have never had before. I have to say, the taste took a bit of time getting used to it, but it was worth its weight in gold. All together, I should have bought two of these bad boys and forgot about the food at the next shop we went to. Now from what I have seen on Hog Heaven Farm's website, there isn't an actual restaurant you can go to and try the food. Maybe they could open up a shop at the former Myron Mixon BBQ located at 2670a Avenir Pl, Vienna, VA 22180. I think Hog Heaven Farm's would make killing on good quality food there. The ambience at this business was uplifting. The quality of the food speaks for itself on how they raise their farm animals. The price for eating Hog Heaven Farm's Breakfast Food is a bit pricy, but like I said, it's worth its weight in gold. I will certainly be coming back to The Farmer's Market next weekend for two more of these delicious breakfast sandwiches. I will say this, if Hog Heaven Farm's did have drinks at this business, they must have run out and removed their sign. Nevertheless, I did find another place for drinks. I think it would help if this location had their own drinks. I think it would help boost sales. Just a thought. read more

I love the breakfast sandwich and have now made getting it part of my routine at the Old Town Farmers Market. I usually substitute bacon for sausage, so sometimes I have to wait while they cook up some bacon, but I usually don't have to wait more than 10 minutes for the sandwich to be ready. I love the homemade english muffins, as well as the tomato aioli they put on the sandwiches. I have even taken the breakfast sandwich home and reheated it later for lunch and it was equally as delicious reheated. Overall, a delicious breakfast sandwich that I look forward to getting every Saturday morning! read more

I was at the DuPont Farmers Market and my friend and I wanted bagels from Not Your Mother's. However, the market was close to closing and they were out of anything worth waiting for (plus the line was super long). We were very hungry and suddenly noticed the amazing smell coming from this stand just behind us, wandered over to Hog Haven, and found our new favorite weekend breakfast spot! She pointed out this stand and I was surprised that I hadn't noticed it before! I asked a person working there how long they'd been at DuPont market, and I believe he said since last June. Now every time I'm at the market I'll make a stop here if I haven't had breakfast already. They also sell cuts of meat, sausages, bacon, etc. but I haven't bought any of those yet. I've had the original Hog Haven Breakfast Sandwich (with sausage) and I've had it with bacon instead. I prefer the original with the sausage. They can tailor your order if you want no meat, no cheese, etc. They have a side table area with napkins and delicious sauces called BoJo Sauce and Hossome Sauce. I usually put a little of each sauce on my sandwich, wrap it back up, and take it home to eat. I take it home (and it's still warm), but I see tons of people sitting around the market and enjoying theirs too! Everyone working there is on top of their game and really friendly! Hog Haven Farm is not actually a haven, unless you are looking for pork. They have a stand at the Columbia Pike Farmers Market where they sell fantastic breakfast sandwiches. Fresh sausage, homemade English muffins, and cheddar on a griddle is the perfect way to start a Sunday morning. I always add their BBQ sauce to my sandwich. Plus, they sometimes have cold brew coffee which is delicious. The staff is super friendly, and it's about a 10 minute wait, but definitely worth it. So glad I can get an excellent breakfast sandwich in my neighborhood. read more

As a regular at the Dupont Farmers Market, I know the smell (and the line) of the Hog Haven tent all too well. I don't eat pork, but I can't deny how tempting their breakfast biscuits smell. So when I found out they did a vegetarian option, I was so excited! I got there early enough that I didn't have to wait too long and ordered quickly. The guy taking my order was funny and my sandwich was out in no time. The biscuit was my favorite prat--flaky, so buttery, and a little salty. The egg was your standard scrambled egg. And I LOOOOVED the sauce they put on it. But, I think it's more worth your time if you get it with the sausage. I enjoyed the sandwich, but it didn't stand out the way I expected and I think that's because for me, it was just an egg biscuit. I personally wouldn't eat it again, but I'll definitely bring my sausage-eating friends here! read more

Discovered them at the H St Farmer's Market. The Original Hog Haven Sandwich is the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. If meat's not your thing, don't worry because the homemade English muffin and the tomato aioli are chef's kiss perfection and I'm sure the vegetarian option is just as good as the original. We sought out a different local market the next day just to get another. Don't sleep on this one. read more
