Our favorite shave ice place! Perfectly smooth, melts in your mouth, no big chunks of ice to crunch through. We love getting an ice cream scoop in the middle for an extra treat. The sizes are huge! Great flavors and product. But 1 star for disastrous experience I had here today. We waited over 30 minutes for two single offerings because the lone employee was spending her time taking new orders as they came up instead of finishing orders in the queue. People were waiting in the grass and all over the asphalt in 90° heat due to poor planning on behalf of the staff. This place needs to hire more people for mid-day shift and/or train the staff not to run up a monstrous backlog of orders before making existing ones. If the slow Hawaiian music is causing this, time to switch from Don Ho to Rammstein to get orders out. read more

The best shaved ice, but would recommend more training with the staff. Orders were getting mixed up because there weren't names put on each cup. And then the staff asked me which sizes and toppings I got at the end of a longer order instead of putting it in system themselves as the order was given. read more

Best shaved ice ever. Smooth, perfect ice. Nothing else to say. But, because yelp prefers longer reviews, I will say that they have a great selection. They have quick service. I would recommend getting the to-go option because it's easier to eat and less likely to spill. I love that they use sweet condensed milk for a super creamy and amazing flavor. When we went the mango ice cream was out. We got coconut ice cream with ours (I'm a huge fan of anything with coconut in it). This was our 4th or 5th visit of the year. After you have tried Hokulia, you'll never settle for a snow cone! We usually will split a longboard, which is just right for the casual eater. A short board is too much for one, imo. I prefer the cherry, black cherry, mango and dreamsicle flavors, not a huge fan of the sweet milk, the ice cream is a nice adder, but is not needed to enjoy the sweet treat. Coconut is great if that is your craving, just that I am not fan. The secret to shave ice, yes "shave", is the shaved ice, somehow the thinly sliced ice absorbs the flavors evenly, I have never had too much flavor or ran out before reaching the bottom of the cup. That is always the problem with snow cones. I actually prefer the Hokulia product to ice cream, which leads to my one complaint. Here is my rub, the Hokulia season is too short! I would love to see a storefront location open year round, even if it was just one location located along the Wasatch Front, why not? I posed this question on their Facebook page, their reply was that they cater year round; I just need to find 25 people that share passion for the Shave! read more

Then they all got so quiet when I said something and i said it nicely and tried to conversate but they all didn't bother to say anything! Disappointed I left them a tip.
