Very quaint seasonal spot for ice cream and sorbet. Good selection of flavor options that do not disappoint. I tried the cake batter which was a great nostalgic option. The honey lavender is also very interesting and a great option

This place was fun to try! They have delicious ice cream. The employee that helped me was friendly. They are only open during the summer months.

I stopped by Cloud Ninth Creamery on a Sunday, and it was a little disappointing. I've heard great things about them but unfortunately, most of the flavors were nearly gone by the time I arrived. I tried the butter pecan and the stracciatella, which smelled nice, but overall, it didn't leave much of an impression.

    It'll be our little secret...

I have been wanting to try Cloud Ninth and let me tell you - I was not disappointed! The flavors are so unique and the ice cream base is super creamy and delightful. They switch up their flavors all the time, but I'd highly recommend the Peanut Butter Oreo if they have it. The cookie dough was also fantastic - you can't go wrong with homemade cookie dough!! I'm dying to try the ice cream sandwich - but that will be next time. 10/10 recommend - can't wait to go back and try again!!

This is a cute tiny creamery right on 9th and 9th. I love how the name of this shop has a double entendre. A lot of people keep mentioning about the dole whip. I don't know what that is, so I asked the girl behind the counter. When she explained what it was, I opted for the chocolate ice cream in a cup. I'm not a big ice cream consumer, so the small cup was plenty for me. Half way down there were little bits of chocolate crunchy and smooth......my new favorite. While we were sitting outside eating our ice cream (there is no inside seating) people were coming in droves, so much so there was a line out the door and down the sidewalk. Service was pretty fast considering there was only one person working. Parking space is hard to come by on a Saturday night with all the eateries nearby, especially on a Saturday night. Side street parking available as well as bike parking out front.

Cloud Ninth Creamery is a lovely little shop that takes ice cream to a whole new level. This is the creamy stuff, yo! If super creamy ice cream isn't your jam, you can find gelato or even Dole Whip instead. Plenty of options to keep everyone happy. It's a small shop-no space inside to sit and eat your treat. So plan to take it to go-stroll along the streets and browse this beautiful area.

This is a great little ice cream shop! We got the peanut butter chocolate gelato, and the strawberry sorbet. Unintentionally, we built a PB&J. And it was so good. 100% we will be returning to try all of their other flavors

I need to go back and try the gelato, but the snow cone was good. I loved the idea of shark attack because gummies are my favorite.

    So many choices.

Finally tried this little spot near 9th and 9th. In a lovely area inundated with ice cream choices, Cloud Ninth holds its own with a creamy and flavorful gelato. I tried the peanut butter chocolate and it was top notch. The variety is great in both gelato flavors and other treats, such as shave ice and dole whip. They seem to be short-staffed (as many places are right now), so the one young man in the store was having a hard time keeping up with the demand, but her remained calm and friendly. Give them a try some evening. They have tables right out front where you can sit and savor the good things of life.

Super friendly staff that helped give recommendations. Sorbet was super creamy and the raspberry lime was tart. Also got the shaved ice with a scoop of ice cream inside and it was delicious.

This is a hidden gem of stellar ice cream in Salt Lake City! I am ridiculously impressed with the laid back owner who inherited this place from his grandfather. He still uses his grandpa's super premium ice cream recipes (16% butterfat) and then creates his own on top of them. Some of his best flavors are: +Dirty Monkey (salted dark chocolate fresh banana Oreo) +Banana Cream Pie (with real pie scraps from Pie Fight across the street!) +Cake Batter +Chocolate Fudge +Cookie Dough (with real homemade hand rolled and cut edible cookie dough!) +Cookies n Cream (one of the best I've ever had!) +Lemon He comes out with new flavors constantly, so there's always something new to try! There's also shaved ice and yummy Dole Whip (some of the best!).

I'm blown away by how amaaaazzzzing Cloud Ninth's ice cream is!!! I came here originally because I had to try Shay's signature Ice Cream Foodie flavor (salted chocolate ice cream with fresh, frozen bananas and Oreos inside). It was incredible! My husband and I each took our first bite and then gave each other the look of, "oh crap. What did we just get ourselves into?" I also sampled a few other flavors, and I'm excited to order a full cup of toffee caramel crunch and peanut butter chocolate. All of their flavors taste amazing. I could tell that they use high-quality ingredients, and they don't skimp on all that fattening deliciousness. Ice cream is apparently only sold from March-September, so I will have to stock up on a few pints until then. I can't wait to fill my freezer (and belly) with their ice cream!

Clean and adorable ice cream shop with a wide variety of flavors for every craving. The gelato is super creamy and makes you feel like you're in Italy. The gelatorista (sorry didn't catch her name) was friendly and had no problems answering a zillion questions from the fam.

I can't put my finger on it, but something about the texture is not quite right. Close, but not 100%. Still very good, though. Regular flavors. No lavender or other exotic flavors that you would find at other true Italian gelato places. But very good flavors. I recommend that you give them a try. You will like it. 5* = A top favorite. There's a craft counter, a chocolate counter, and an ice cream counter, and no clear lines or what not. At first glance, it's not immediately obvious where to focus your attention, so I went with the ice cream for here and took the chocolates walking. The owner was out on the floor chatting with customers, which gave the place a welcoming and local feel. It was nice. A few times I hovered close to him and tried to find an opening to ask him some questions about the products, but he was busy with other guests. As for the history of the business, there are enough newspaper clippings and articles on the walls to keep anyone occupied while waiting. Most of the staff appeared to be high school- or younger college-aged employees handling the day-to-day operations. The ice cream isn't made in-house (it's Farr's brand), so this review is more about the experience than the product itself. The serving size was fair, and I opted for the spumoni. Yes, really, spumoni. Three other people in our group between their twenties and forties had never even heard of the flavor before. The ice cream is scooped from a mixed single barrel rather than barrel with separated sections, so the chocolate, pistachio, and cherry had blended together. It was kind of like putting different sodas into the same cup. While I enjoy ice cream and these flavors, others might not think the same. The standout items for me were the chocolates. The bourbon chocolate came with a huge flavor punch. It was rich, bold, and intense enough that I needed a break and a glass of water afterward. It's not for the faint of heart and you need to be serious about chocolates to have an appreciation for this one. The marzipan, on the other hand, was a perfect follow-up. Not to sweet, balanced, and a very nice almond flavor. It was delicious and served as a nice palate refresher after the bourbon's performance. Between the chocolates and the owner's visible presence this was an enjoyable stop. The chocolates were easily the stars of the visit and worth it if you're in the area.

Their fruit-shaped creations are little works of art--so realistic it almost feels wrong to eat them... almost. Each pastry is fresh, light, and packed with flavor. The pistachio was incredibly tasty, though definitely on the richer side, so it's one you might want to savor slowly. The raspberry had a beautifully balanced sweetness with a vibrant, delicious filling. The lemon was very zingy--almost intensely so--but still delightful if you enjoy bold citrus flavors (just maybe not an entire one in a single sitting). The standout, though, was the mango. Easily the winner. It had such a bright, powerful flavor, and the fresh mango inside made every bite feel special. Everything about it--from taste to presentation--was just beautiful.
