The turkey was equally as delicious and I, who doesn't even eat burnt ends, decided to taste Rump's pork belly burnt ends and it was instant love! The apps and and sides were also scrumptious! We tried the potato salad, the mac n' cheese, and the savory smoked pinto beans. Perfection! HOWEVER... I need to send a special shout out for the bacon dilly bites. I like fried pickles well enough, and prefer the larger pickles over pickle chips, but I do not order them often. These were chunks of pickles somewhere between whole and pickle chips. Then...they were wrapped in bacon and fried. Most times I don't eat bacon but wanted to taste those darn pickles so I tried one. Wonderful! Two thumbs up! The man behind the smoker, Eric, is so friendly and happy to talk not only about his secrets and methods he uses, but other topics as well - ask him about his love of metal music! They need to learn how to sanitize linens and not just add fragrance to cover up the smell. Also in desperate need of a handy man - windows were stuck and wouldn't open, the one that did lacked a screen, lightbulbs burned out. Lights shine into the room overnight (should be on timer or get some decent drapes). Went down to the event space and found the light switch - not a big deal but shouldn't be the guest's responsibility. Would visit for an event but would not stay there again. Similar complaints from other retreat attendees about the state of their rooms & bunkhouse.

Room is spacious with several nicely-spaced round tables with 6 chairs each & 2 large booths in the back of the room. You can get your table first or your food order, tables are 1st come 1st serve. You get a buzzer that notifies u when food is ready, so it's nice not to have to stand around the food counter (A PLUS). Drinks are self-serve & free refills all night. All the facility staff are very courteous & welcoming. The large pizza had generous toppings & flavorful, well-worth it. Kids also enjoyed the crispy tender basket with generous amount of fries. Table next to us got the nachos, which was huge, with generous toppings, for $11. Now the comedy itself: wish I could give 5 stars bc I really liked everything else, but the jokes were mostly eehhh, for lack of better words. I had menus and they told guests that we weren't serving a certain wine although I had purchased many bottles and it was on the menu. I asked the groom to get me that drink and he came back and was told no which is so strange being that he was the groom and being that we had the product. - A bridesmaid had purchased an expensive bottle of champagne for me. It was left in the bridal suite and "confiscated" by security and apparently brought to the bartender. I never knew about any of this until the end of the wedding when my bridesmaid was searching for the bottle. I was told that the bartenders must have opened and served it, but this info was never shared with anyone. It was really upsetting to have to search for the gift at the end of the wedding and then to hear that our bartenders were somehow involved. - A few guests shared that one of the bartenders was rude. I didn't see this as I was not at the bar, but was really unhappy to hear that my guests were not treated with respect and kindness. I wonder why that would be.
