Jeff's right...the place is small with tight stairwells. I can only judge it by one show, so my review may be skewed. But the show itself was clever and used the space in an interesting way. Not sure how much the gallery folks influenced it or if it was all done by the artist. Art was tucked into corners, in the stairwell and above the stairs, in unusual spaces...much like Banksy's work out in the real world. There was caution tape and Astroturf and more.
There's not much else in this neighborhood. If you don't live nearby, there's no reason to go out of your way to get here. Unless the current show is by an artist you really like. I don't think I'd make my way out here just to see what's happening next. Which is a shame...I wonder if I'll be missing out?
If the next show is as well-presented as the current one, it might be worth a trip. It would be interesting to see what else they show and how they present it. read more
