They will confirm with you through Whatsapp the day before but if you are nervous like me they will confirm your reservations at any time. At Cancun airport they were there with my name on a sign and then it's a 2 hour drive to the ferry to the island. The drivers will stop if you want to eat or use the bathroom. Then they walk you to the ferry, which runs until 9:00 pm. They give you the ferry tickets and then when the ferry arrives at the island they have a golf cart there again to pick you up. Super coordinated. When we left the island, the taxi was at the hotel right on time and took our photos for the shuttle driver waiting for us at the ferry landing.

First, he provides transport from Cancun Airport to Isla Hotbox hotels. Its not an easy trip, given that its 1 1/2 hours from airport to Chiquila, where you catch the ferry and then a golf cart taxi takes you to the hotel. But when you order his service, its all taken care of. At every stop, there was a driver with a sign with our names on it and they took care of our luggage and our tickets every step of the way. Kudos to our drivers, Daniel & Freddie. As if that wasn't enough, we decided to give one of his tours a try to Chichen Itza and it was an INCREDIBLE experience. Chuy makes sure they pull out all the best stops. Our driver, Mario, was wonderful (we had him make stops for Coffe & Tequila Distillery, even though, it wasn't in the plans). First, we had a fantastic guide at the Chichen Itza ruins. Pepe was friendly, funny and knowledgable. Then, we had a Beautiful & Refreshing stop at the Cenote. Next, we had a delicious stop of authentic Mayan tacos in a little shack (YUM!). We couldn't believe how much we were able to cram into one day. Our friends did a Whale Shark tour in the summer and it wasn't the right season for us to do it, but we were so jealous of their experience that we're talking about going back. Also, was able to book transfers online (awesome!) and use Paypal to pay for everything. Bar None, this has been one of my favorite tour experiences around the world.

Keep in mind these are only here in season…read more (Starting around June 1st - September 15th) The downside to coming to Mexico to swim with the Whale Sharks is you have to wear those ridiculous life vests, but in Isla Mujeres it's almost a guaranteed sighting. Due to government regulations no free diving . The life vest makes it seem like more of a tourist trap than pelagic adventures in other countries. Still a great experience to be in the water with such magical creatures.

The boat ride to get to the sharks can be long (approx. 1 - 1.5 hours) but worth it. Our guide Felipe explained what we can do and what we cant do once we get to the whale sharks. Once a whale shark was spotted, the captain dropped us in the water, perfectly positioned to see the whale shark. Once we returned, we stopped at Playa Norte (some the prettiest water I have ever seen in my life) and they made some fresh ceviche for everyone on board. What a great day and I would recommend their services to anyone.

THE BIG: Pink Lagoons and Flamingos in the Yucatan!…read more THE BLACK AND WHITE: The bae and I decided to do a day trip up to Las Coloradas from our stay in Valladolid. It wasn't too far of a drive (~1.5 hrs) with no tolls. When we got to the place, we were hounded by the tour guides, apparently, you have to pay 50 pesos to get in. We did just that and got stunning views of the pink salt lagoon (2 micro algae form to produce this enriched salt) and a regular salt lagoon. It is also very hot, be sure to wear lots of sunscreen. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Ultimately since there's a new law that prohibits you from going into the water and just randomly wandering in. You have to pay 50 pesos to get a tour guide and see the pink lakes up close. Otherwise, you can grab them from afar.

You can't go in the water or even terribly near it - just stand above it while your "guide" (who walks with you 200 yards or so) takes pictures. Fourth and final stop of our day tour…read more Never did I imagine in my entire life I'd get to visit one of the seven wonders of the world. Hubbers took the initiative of booking the tour, so when I found out this was included, I was ecstatic. It is a bit of a walk from the parking lot and during hot and humid seasons, an umbrella is highly recommended - a hat will simply not do. They have rentals available for $80MX (it was worth it during our run.) There are souvenir vendors on both sides of the road on the way to the actual site but save that for the end. Our guide was pretty much a Chichen Itza expert. This whole place is not only about a pyramid (although that's the very center point) but this was once a place of civilization. On one side is where the market used to be. On another is where the sports coliseum was. We learned a lot about the Mayan's way of life pre-Columbian era. This place is one of those you know about but not really know a lot about; no longer the case after this visit. Be wary: other than those posted on the road, there will be a lot of walking vendors trying to sell their products. Don't be shy or afraid to bargain, they welcome it. Tickets are around $35-40US, give or take, for non-residents, depending on the conversion. I believe it's free for residents. Worth it. Such a great way to end our day tour. If you haven't been and find yourself within 100 miles, I'd highly recommend coming through.

There is so much to say about Xolbox, so few about Chiquila. Chiquila is a very small town, few…read moreblocks between the town edge and the ferry pier. When going to holbox by driving your car, you will find a lot of parking options for day-in-and-out as well as overnight stays. Price for the overnight is about 8 dollars which is a bargain. Same as cancun, you will find a lot of ferry tickets sellers on your way to the pier, you go straight to the pier and buy the tickets from the only two major companies there, one that is more like the Cancun's ultramar and the other that is more like a family owned ferry (7 or 9 hermanos is the name, but also a big ferry). We used both, service was equal, great, climated area, open air roof, bar service, bathroom. Family owned was cheaper, so that would be our choice next time. Xolbox is almost 98% cash only, so make sure of that before you go. The beaches are worth it. It is like going to a desert caribean island with few real estate development, cell signal on and off, cash only, but the sea and the view are worth the price, if you want to disconnect from everything.

We did 2 ziplines, canoed, swam in the Cenote, and ate a delicious meal. Our tour guide Tonica was outstanding, explaining to us the culture of the Mayans and the history of the area. No phone are allowed during this portion, but there are lockers available to store your things. Our 2nd stop was at the Coba ruins, where we saw the Mayan temples in the town of Coba. It was a long walk to the main temple, but it was a cool experience and beautiful architecture to see. The whole trip was an all day adventure, but well worth it! Definitely recommend if your looking to learn about the culture of the area and the people who live here! :-)

Our guide, Erik, could not have been more of a delight. He was so friendly and made the whole experience that much more incredible. His knowledge of the site and his safety tips helped us at each event. Barely any wait, and you're basically with the same group the whole time. The light 'snack', is a turkey sandwich, and then you get lunch (tacos/fajitas) at the end. There's a very cool bar, the place itself is picture worthy, you feel like you're in a tree house! Highly recommend doing this. There are lockers there, but can't bring phones on most of the activities. There are photographers (hanging from zip lines!), and photos for purchase at the end. $100, however they came with nearly 150 photos, worth the purchase. Our group comprised of three families with adults, teens, and young children. It was all of our first times traveling to Cancun so I wanted to find a private tour for my large group. Booking with them through their website was easy and they were very quick to communicate via email. Leading up to the tour, we had some travel delays, but after updating Rod and their team of our situation, they were very accommodating. Kat was our guide and Pepe was our driver. Kat was informative during our guided walk of Chichen Itza and also accommodating of our last minute concerns and needs. Pepe was a great driver and got us to our destinations swiftly and safely. Marveling at the ruins at Chichen Itza and learning more about the history of Mayan culture and the way life might have been like at the time was very interesting. Kat took photos during our entire tour and later shared them via Google. A plus for our group as we LOVE photos. On our way to Cenote Samaal, we requested a stop for some fresh coconut water. They were quick to find a vendor on the side of the road. Pepe also got out and helped cut the coconuts for the 12 of us. Very impressed with his initiative and helpfulness. The coconuts were so refreshing after walking around in the sun at Chichen Itza! Admission, locker access, life jackets, and lunch were provided for us at Cenote Samaal. Everyone in our group enjoyed swimming in the cenote. The lunch buffet was a favorite among the adults in our group as we got to get a taste of Yucatan cuisine. There was something for everyone on this tour and I would highly recommend this company to anyone traveling to Cancun and wanting to get more than just a tour of Chichen Itza, but an experience of what the Yucatan area has to offer. My wife is not…read morea confident snorkeller but with help from Luis and Limbert she went out into quite a rough sea to see the turtles and then snorkelled over some deep water in the cenote/caves. We both thoroughly enjoyed the half day trip and would recommend it to anyone. Limbert was a very knowledgeable guide and told us a lot about the history of Mexico on the drive down. Both were quite close to Playa Del Carmen/ Playacar so the longest drive was around thirty minutes. I got some great photos and at the end of the trip we were sent a Google Drive of the photos that Limbert had taken.
