Looks like a broke down motel in a small dusty town after looking at such nice pictures on the net. Dirty floors, moldy showers, peeling wallpaper, noisy ac as well as towels and bedding that smell washed over hundreds of times round out this gem with mountain views. For a clean IHG promise they sure dont show it. For the price of very nice hotels in other towns and bigger cities you get a 1 star, if that experience. read more

Stayed here for work this week and was not impressed. My experience pretty much mirrored the previous reviews with the walls being super thin, needing a 2000s update, dirty carpet, small bathrooms, and poor quality services. There is just a big need for the hotel to be updated especially compared to the area and the hotels that are around it. It is a big hotel, so it offers a lot of rooms, which is nice. But, because it is so big it is just halls and halls of corridors which echo so badly that you can hear your neighbors laughing three doors down. I literally woke up several times in the past two nights to people laughing, crying, and running down the hallway. And this is not because I am a light sleeper as my coworkers have experienced the same, it is because of the hotel make up. One shinning light in all this darkness is the kindness of the staff. I was able to get checked in easily and they offer a variety be it slow breakfast service. Definitely if you are in a hurry this is NOT the place to get your breakfast! Give them 30 minutes or more for your food. I definitely would not pick this Holiday Inn to stay at when I return to Bozeman. There are so many better places! Look elsewhere! read more

This is the most disgusting place I have ever seen or smelled. The entire place was dirty. Even other guests checking into their room were commenting how bad it smelled. We would never stay here again even if you paid us. The whole hotel smells foul, the room we stayed in had dozens feces stains all over carpets (wasn't even a designated pet room), black mold in the shower and the toilet didn't work properly. We couldn't even take our shoes off it was so filthy. We actually had to sleep with our clothes on and checked out within six hours of checking in. We asked to speak with the manager whom wasn't in yet and didn't even receive a call back. We will be escalating this to corporate Holiday Inn. read more

Probably the worst Holiday Inn I've stayed in. I've stayed in Holiday Inn's all over the place. Usually you get a very clean room at a good price. This one wasn't it. The location is good, right off the freeway, but everything about this place needs a serious remodel. The carpets are stained all over the place, the entire hotel is dark and dank, and overall the place just feels dingy. Thankfully we were only here one night, but I definitely will look elsewhere in the future. read more

When we pulled up to this hotel I was taken aback. It's not like the other holiday inns I've stayed at. The outside needs some definite tlc; potholes filled, building painted. It looks quite seedy. The inside is clean and the staff kind and helpful. Our room was dated but clean as well. The beds comfortable and the a/c ran quiet. Unfortunately there are stains on the floor, dead bugs on the window still. Peeling paint and a general feeling of neglect. This place is a joke! Please don't stay here! One of the worst hotels I've stayed at. This place is old and worn out. The pictures make it look pretty nice but it is not. Our room was barely cleaned and ready by 3 even though check in said 2. When we entered the hotel it smelled of weed. Coming into our room, there was a weird smell. I also like to see how well rooms are cleaned by looking in hard to reach places. There was a corona can and smarties candies under the king bed and what appeared to be dried poop under the fold out bed. The hotel smelled of weed for several hours during the evening. Three police cars were at the hotel when we came back from dinner. There was a dog howling at times at night. Several doors slammed. The phone randomly rang three separate times before I unplugged it. No continental breakfast. DO NOT STAY HERE! read more

We stayed at a Holiday Inn last night in Wisconsin and it was so amazing that I insisted on staying here tonight on our way to Yellowstone. Oops! I should have read the reviews before booking and checking in! My husband made the reservation online while we were on the road and it was smooth sailing until we arrived. Point 1: They have rolling carts to get your luggage but no elevator to get up the tiny stairwell. If you are disabled, they don't seem to care. Awful! Point 2: Upon entering the hallway to the second floor, it's dark, dank, and the walls are paper thin. I cam hear people talking in the hallways. Point 3: For $130 a night, it's just not worth it! Stay somewhere else, trust me. I would have added pics, but it's late and I really wanted to submit my thoughts before I attempt to sleep. read more

This place was cheap and decent value. We stopped here before our day in Yellowstone. Location was good. Not a huge city, but it wasn't tiny. Plenty of restaurants and food around. As of June 2018, construction was around, making it difficult to get to the hotel. Hotel looks better on the inside than from the out. Inside looked okay. Beds aren't the best, but for 90 bucks a night, cant complain. No breakfast provided, but water and coffee is. Bathroom was decent. Carpet was a little dirty. Felt itchy. Lighting wasn't great. People can be a little iffy here. I didn't feel that unsafe, but I didn't feel safe. Hallways are a little dinky and dirty and has some sort of odor. Overall, it was okay for the price. read more

Checking in (late afternoon after 12 hour drive, we discovered our reservation for 2 days was canceled. I asked who canceled. Staffer said he did. (BTW, for some reason 5-6 people were behind counter--weird.) I asked why canceled. He claimed no verifiable phone or email and fully booked. Honestly, we chose this hotel for the free shuttle and it was one of the cheapest for the days we were there. It was fine for what it was - we were really only there to sleep. The walk to the room was very long, especially with an elderly parent. We also let them know about the tub backing up when someone took a shower, but they didn't do anything about it while we were there. Christian, our shuttle driver for the weekend, was amazing though. He picked us up from the airport and chatted about Bozeman and then gave us a tour of downtown when he took us to dinner later. Extra friendly and helpful. When my dad asked if there was a T-Mobile because he forgot his charger, Christian let him borrow his for the weekend. Super sweet of him! read more

The carpet and walls look like they haven't been cleaned in forever. The second floor has a mildew smell. Probably from guest tracking pool water through the halls. I chose this Holiday Inn over the Holiday Inn Express that was closer to the airport. Huge mistake. The rooms and overall hotel here were far, far worse than the Holiday Inn Express. I was hoping this one would be nicer and I wanted a restaurant/bar onsite. It was all a total fail. And for $120 a night! Yuck. After a long wait to check-in, I was given my room number and keys. I trek all the way around and down to the room only to discover I had been given a room that hadn't been cleaned! The bed was unmade. There were towels on the floor. There was trash everywhere. I wasn't being picky, this room had literally no been cleaned. So I trek all the way back to the front desk. They apologize and say the maids must've made a mistake. I am then given a different room. This time it's on the 2nd floor. So I trek up the stairs (there is no elevator) and to my new room. It's old, it's stale, the heat is an under window unit, etc. And to top it off, neither the bed or the pillows were comfortable. So I head downstairs to relax and grab a drink at the bar. Oh wait, I can't. Someone had the brilliant idea to let a very large group of locals completely take over the bar for their own hockey viewing party. Literally, no actual guests of the hotel could find a seat to sit and enjoy the bar at the hotel they are paying to stay at. The one plus was that the front desk staff were nice. But absolutely everything else was just terrible. Don't bother staying here. There are numerous other nearby hotels. read more

This hotel was great! The staff is very nice and accommodating! I highly recommend if you have pets! The hotel doesn't charge an extra pet fee. While dogs cannot be left unsupervised, this hotel has implemented a pretty cool program help out. If you need to leave for what ever reason they offer for a staff member to come check on your pet! I feel like this is very beneficial considering that dogs aren't allowed in most parts of Yellowstone. There is also a large, grass courtyard that's great for dogs. The room itself seemed to be clean and tidy. The beds were very comfortable and had both soft and firm pillows. Being located right off the highway made this location super convenient. It's not the newest hotel but It had everything I needed to enjoy my time staying here. read more

Staying somewhere else in Bozeman is absolutely worth the extra price. Honestly, this place is nothing short of a dump that reminds you more of a Super 8 than a Holiday Inn. The bathroom was awash with mildew and bacteria stains. Worse, the shower did not drain properly and water collected in the tub, so if you want to shower you have to stand in a pool of your own (and the guests before you's) filth. Other reviewers have pointed out this problem and I asked on multiple occasions for an employee to investigate the drainage issue, to no avail. The employees were just plain rude. The sheets were stained and my request for new bedding was not fulfilled, and I had to haul a bag of bedding to my room by myself. This establishment is worthy of all the criticism it receives, and I strongly suggest you look elsewhere for lodging. read more

We booked our stay via Expedia. We arrived on 7/13 at almost 11pm. We were tired, as we were on day 9 of an 11 day trip - with an 8 yr old and a 1 yr old. We chose this hotel for our last 2 nights, based on the location relative to the airport and Yellowstone. Upon arrival, we are told that our room is on the 2nd floor - no biggie - then we were informed that there is not an elevator. Let's go back to where I mentioned an 11 day trip with 2 kids and 2 adults. We have alot of stuff- especially considering I was bringing it all in, in order to re-pack for our flight on 7/15. When I asked if there was anything else available, I was told no, especially because I waited until almost 11pm to check in. I also mentioned that there was no mention of this hotel not having an elevator on Expedia, she said that 3rd parties tend to not tell people that. I am pretty certain it doesn't just work like that. Before we agreed to stay, I told my husband that we needed to probably find something else, because of the elevator concern - when the front desk employee informs me " you won't be able to find anything in Bozeman for under 400 per night" . While she was right, I'm pretty sure that's not the right way to "sell" your hotel. After agreeing to just stay, we discover that there is a problem with the computer she was on- and it is unable to read credit cards- at all. Of coursework, it was announced that our credit card was declined. I immediately checked my app- and it was fine - but again, told it was declined. My husband pulls out our debit card (which I also checked the app for) and was told it was declined. There was no mention that it might be a computer issue we, until we had now tried at least 3 times (I can't remember if we tried debit 2 times or not). There was no attempt to be discreet when saying the cards were declined. Thankfully, she decided to try another computer and it mysteriously worked. After that was resolved, we are told how to get to our room (keep in mind, screaming 1 yr old at this point- thanks to the lost time of our cards "declining") - which was to walk through an entire hallway of rooms on the 1st floor, then we were at the very end of the 2nd floor hallway. No biggie- our room is where it is- but there's actually a door with stairs right by the room that she failed to mention. During check-in, no mention of breakfast or pool hours. I'm not even sure if there is/was breakfast. I know there is a pool due to other loud guests in the lobby (approx 15 people at 11pm) mentioning it. With staying 2 nights, I would expect some sort of cleaning service - to at least get fresh towels. Nothing was done, nor was anything mentioned during check-in about lack of staff/cleaning/etc.. If it would have been mentioned (like other hotels have mentioned), no biggie. But instead, when I returned to my room after another long day out- there are no clean towels and beds are unmade. Yeah, not really wanting to go on the trek back downstairs for that. The 1 star was given only because the room itself seems clean. The bathroom has some defects- such as the terribly cracked sink - but nothing preventing usage. I typically do not frequent Holiday Inns. In a pre-Covid traveling world, we only stayed in Hilton brand hotels - I guess this whole ordeal proved why I used to do that. read more

Large, cabin-like seating area greets you when you enter the hotel...then I remember I've stayed here before. The driver to the hotel was polite and kind, even offered to carry my bags up the stairs (no elevators in this hotel). As soon as I opened the door to my room I was greeted with this strong smell of air freshener like your grandmothers old cabinets. It was so strong that I had to opened my room windows to air it out. Horrible. I thought I was going to have allergies. I glanced on the bed....the pillows were 4 large ones which I love but when I laid my head on them they went flat (not happy about that bc I already know what my rest is going to be). Don't you just hate being woken up with a squeaky voice of the housekeeper banging on your neighbors doors at 7:30 in the morning? Needless to say I couldn't go back to sleep. Woke up two hours before my alarm. Not very happy about that. What I do love is that my room have a microwave and refrigerators? I wish all hotels have this. The water pressure was also good and clean bathroom. The restaurant has decent breakfast food and good price. Will I stay here again? No. Just because of that horrible smell in my room. read more

This place is laughably bad. While our room was clean, I highly doubt this place would pass the most basic health code inspection. Specifically, there was a nook in one of the main hallways near our room that was used to store random furniture and a pile of what seemed to be moldy clothing that grew in size each day of our stay. The pool area is sort of cool except that it is carpeted and therefore smells funky. I also witnessed a large buffet dinner for over 50 people being set up and served in the pool area, disgusting. Slept ok the first night but the second night there was a party going on in the hallway from 1-4 am where people were slamming doors, screaming, and smoking cigarettes indoors. Do not stay here! If I could give this hotel zero stars, I would have. The hotel was awful. The outside of the hotel should've been a first sign. Global Cleanliness Promise was not adhered to. I walked in to the room and it had a musty, unpleasant smell that it's hard to describe. The carpet was stained in a bunch of places. The inside of the door had some huge stains on it. The beds looked old and so did the bed sheets. I walked into the restroom to see the rest of the room and in the tub was a humongous spider (about 3/4 of an inch). I immediately went to check-out. Fortunately, I was able to find another hotel, but I had to pay an extra $150 as this is considered high season. I hope IHG management takes my concerns seriously. read more

Okay, We travel every few weeks for work and have stayed in a holiday inn every time all over North Dakota, Montana & Idaho. This was hands down the worst experience. We paid $170 for a dingy small room. We paid for the extra $10 breakfast voucher, Didn't receive it. Over priced! Asked that our company be put on the room charge with our names our without, that was an issue for them, they wanted an ID for our company debit card (hello same last name as the company) how other than my business card, vehicle registration, case in my phone and my husband's ID can I prove that's my company? ??? Do you want to see my ein number or my Idaho state tax commission letter? ??? So we used a personal card for a business expense. Then they would not look up my husband's ihg rewards account without him there! There was no mini fridge for our cHild's milk, hair all over the bathroom floor, and the hotel at the front desk sent us all the way around the hotel to our room when it was just thru the pool area. It looked like a dog took a crap on the carpet. The bathtub had blood in it. The lamp didn't work. We paid for a room with 2 queens. The beds were so small that they looked like full size beds. This experience was very interesting. I will start with the good. It was very cheep to stay and their breakfast in the morning was pretty good. Ok now for the unfortunate events. When we arivied at 6:30 the staff was in the lobby in the couch eating and watching tv. So, my friend and I are driving from Seattle to Indianapolis and we need a place to stop for the night. This place was the cheapest available and since Holiday Inn is a known name, we figured it'd be okay. That is just what it was, okay. Honestly, we were so tired that we barely noticed the room or any of the amenities, so it wouldn't be fair to comment on them. However, the front desk staff was very friendly and had great poker faces. I say this because we must've looked ridiculous coming in from the outside covered in moths. Since I'm from the west coast and have never been to Montana, maybe I'm commenting on something normal here, but there were thousands, if not millions, of moths outside! It was insane. Before checking into the hotel we decided to gas up so we could just leave at first light and we were pumping gas in the middle of a swirling storm of moths at the gas pumps. As I looked across the street at the Holiday Inn, it didn't even occur to me that the fluttering almost fluid-like effect happening to the lights on the outside of the hotel were moths, I thought it was just a cool effect the hotel had installed. When we got to the hotel the moths were everywhere! There were literally so many of them that they were falling off of each other trying to get to the light fixtures. They were on the sidewalk, the walls and the ceiling. When we entered I thought that we had managed to get by them without having any attach to us, but nope. We were brushing them off in the hotel lobby and when we got to the room, they were literally falling out of our clothes. It was like being in a bad 50's horror film that would've fit in on MST 3000. read more

The main lobby was clean, well-lit, spacious, inviting, and modern with a country-western theme. The staff were all very professional and had great attitudes (even at the oddest of hours). Unfortunately, this set expectations higher for the rest of place. Thus, the backside stairwells and hallways, with their boiler-room/afterthought feel, seemed to suck even more. I trudged up a staircase that was filled with a disgusting haze of stale (and recent) cigarette smoke. The catchy refrain from that Pitbull song 'Hotel Room Service' suddenly made sense as a vocalized expression of relative decreasing degrees of quality that I was experiencing. The hotel touts its dog-friendliness, both on the internet and in-house, and they are. However getting to my room was a challenge for my dogs since there was no elevator and the stairwell staircase was a potential doggy deathtrap. Seriously-- its railings had too much of a gap between the landing and the first horizontal bar. Just pay attention to your hound and don't go throwing a beret off of this Eiffel tower. The room itself was bland and clean with an older no-frills motel vibe. Nothing classic enough for instagram karma though. The high point of the room was its heavenly comfortable bed with equally endearing pillows. The bathroom was clean but was poorly ventilated. mini-shampoos labelled "coconut lime" smelled just like the inside of a coconut. Like some sunscreens, I admit that I was tempting to taste it since it smelled so good. Speaking of smells, the paper coffee cups wrapped in plastic wrap smelled strangely like a model airplane project (think glue gun and paint). It felt stuffy in the room so I opened the window and was confronted with a large oily handprint on the outside of the window. Was this person trying to unlock their new iphone 5s and missed? We will never know. Easy walk to the pool from the lobby, but an unfun crayon maze to be able to find it when starting from my room. This is basically because the hotel is confusingly large. The indoor pool was expansive, well-maintained, clean and not over- or under-chlorinated/algicided. To express this in terms of the Goldilocks principle, this aqueous dialectical third would not have turned her hair green. It was the nice quiet place for an evening swim. Took two of the pool towels (with the blue stripes) to dry off since they were a bit small. Ocean of easy parking all around the hotel's various interconnected buildings. The lobby restaurant's coffee was undrinkable muck for this hypercritical coffee snob but the nearby Starbucks saved the day with excellent perfectly-brewed coffee. I save 5 star reviews for out of this world spectacular. So trust this 4. I was traveling through Bozeman and checked in here because the rate was reasonable for the town. Heck, next door it's $240.00 a night. It's the perfect spot to travel three directions to attractions. North is to Glacier. West to the Northern tip of Yellowstone Park, Big Sky and the Tetons, while the southwest is towards the epic Paradise Valley and the Gardner entrance to the eastern side of Yellowstone, and lastly, but most importantly, it is close to the number one scenic road trip in America - the run from Red Lodge on up to the Beartooth highway (over to Dead Indian pass too) which takes you down to Coy Wyoming. While on my Harley, I was t-boned and sent to the hospital with injuries. When I got released, they brought me back to this hotel. There I was, without anyone to help, without necessities and even needed items that were on my wrecked Harley. The staff - welcomed me back and my room. They were even so kind as to send one person for medication for me. Another was kind enough to help with an adjustment in the room to accommodate me. Yet still another at the restaurant boxed up food for me. The list goes on and on. Yes it's an old hotel being torn down in a while - for now, it is clean, reasonably priced - BUT - it is staffed with incredible people of local character, charm and kindness. My thanks to the General Manager Blake Naber, his right arm the wonderful Lisa Joylan. The whole front desk (Logan you're amazing), Rodney the groundskeeper for keeping me laughing, Sam the always prescient and present man-about-town, Zach runs the great little menu/kitchen and is always a good ear when your stuck and need something to go. Then as I close - the wonderful people in the bar, that eased my pain with a solid drink...THE many names I can't place - thank you too.... GO here folks. read more

Extremely over priced! I booked a king bed and received two queens. I was tired, so I didn't bother to complain. When I checked in, I asked for a good local pizza place and that recommendation didn't disappoint. When I got back to the room, I pulled out the chair to sit and enjoy my pizza and there were sunflower seed shells (eaten) on it. When I used the bathroom, there was a smooshed spider (perhaps a daddy long legged) into the tile floor. Really just rather dirty..... The closest door to my room was #5 (way at the back of the bldg). Although I took my room keep to go for an early (before sunrise) run, I didn't need it because the door wasn't even locked. Check out is at 1200. I had lots of time to kill before my flight, so I hung out in the room before deciding go to a museum. At 0900, I decided to take some of my luggage out to my rental car. I "basically" went to my car, put my luggage in and went directly back to my room (maybe 5 min max). When I walked back in the bldg, I see a cleaning lady come out of my room. When I got up to my door, I asked if she was in my room? No response from her, but the cleaning manager was walking with her......he said, "it's okay, she knocked first and no answer." I said, "No, it's NOT okay." Mind you, the tv was still on and my purse and other items were in the room still. If she opened the door, that would have been noticeable right away. YET, she walked all the way into my room. $182 on a Thursday night.....I feel totally violated on the whole experience! Booked last minute. Checkin was super easy and fast. Front desk staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Our room looked out onto the grass courtyard and was clean and comfortable. We ate at the bar located off the lobby and the food and drinks hit the spot! Very nice experience and we will definitely be returning! read more
