What a great stop! We needed to get off the road last night as it was raining and we didn't want to push it traveling on thanksgiving holiday. We stopped in Corbin KY This hotel did not disappoint! The young man at the desk was so professional and made our check in quick and easy. He even gave us an upgrade. The lobby was so inviting and spacious. Our room was awesome. Best one yet at a holiday inn Express! We had a corner suite in the third floor. So many windows! Five! Some were floor to ceiling! Very large suite. The king bed was so comfortable. Felt like a five star hotel bed with luxurious linens. The breakfast was ready at 0630 like they said. I was impressed they even had decaf coffee ready! The lobby has a two story open room with lots of windows and a huge. Very nice location too. If you are one of those who need Starbucks, you ate in luck as i saw one across the street There is a small gym too which helps to stay fit while traveling read more

A recent event was planned for months at a local nearby venue. Arrangements were made to hold rooms for those coming from out of town here. The staff there was given the date of 7/22 & a list of guests/contact info to make individual arrangements. One room was used by the event organizer for 1 night. Yet he was overcharged nearly $1400. No documentation was provided for these charges until a week later, whereas they charged for multiple rooms for multiple nights & refused to reimburse the funds due to their error. The management of this facility is a cheat/thief. We have seen a lawyer & will be pursing this, along with attorney fees. read more

Just passing thru and checked in late so it was Ok but not worth $143.00! Pros: Bed was comfy & clean. Coffee & bagged breakfast in lobby was fine. Cons: Sink clogged up, faucet was crooked, there was dog food morsels on the floor, you could see where they wiped only certain spots on the closet door and headboard. read more

My experience was "fine" but not great, but the location was excellent, so I will be staying again at this hotel. I didn't see anything like some of the reviewers mentioned in terms of smell. I can't really put my finger on why I didn't like this hotel as much as I normally like Holiday Inn Express locations. The staff seemed a little remote maybe? My room was clean enough, but not as clean as it might have been (bathroom mirror). The breakfast was definitely at the bottom of the acceptable range. Thank goodness for instant oatmeal. Room was updated and clean. Beds and pillows were soft, and it was a quiet Saturday night. Coffee in the morning was okay, but no breakfast because of staff quitting (which I guess isn't their fault). Brown paper bag of fruit was given instead, so they were at least trying to do something. read more

Stopped here on my way home from vacation. This Holiday Inn Express INCLUDES breakfast. It's on the smaller side as Holiday Inn's go. But the room was up to date with all the amenities. The price was decent and fair for a Holiday Inn. Some can be over priced and not incude breakfast. The dinning area was very elegant and relaxing. Closer to a 2 than a 4. The hallway smelled like smoke, fortunately it didn't smell bad inside the room. We stayed in the aquarium suite which would be pretty sweet if you're traveling with little ones. It has an additional kids room with bunk beds attached to a normal size hotel room. It is sort of creepy walking into a kid's bedroom at a hotel. i had to check under the bed and behind the curtains before feeling safe in there. The room was clean, although the shower floor felt gritty. Not sure if it was just me not sleeping well that night, but it felt like every door that closed shook our door and was pretty loud. The fitness room is tiny with one working treadmill, no weights, one sit up bench. Very small. Breakfast was good. read more

It's not to bad definitely ok to stay at but needs some updating. I usually stay in holiday express but I've been in way nicer ones. Usually they are perfect. I had the king suite. Very roomy. Their laundry room needs an upgrade. For $2.00 you get one of THEE smallest washers I have ever used. The 3rd where it is at also smells bad because they allow smoking. My phone in my room was broken along with my tub drain having a clog. Their fitness room is nice! Has free weights up to 50lbs. Newer bike, treadmill and elliptical! Nice outdoor pool too! This place needs to get rid of smoking. I would stay again. read more

While traveling on vacation, our family had the opportunity to stay one night at the Holiday Inn in Corbin, KY. It was a really great experience! Room was clean and beds were great. Also, staff at the hotel were very nice and provided service that was not too intrusive, nor lackadaisical. Lastly, the value of our stay certainly met (and maybe exceeded) what we paid for our room. It will do for a one night stay in a road trip. Affordable. And staff was friendly. Rooms were musty (more than a normal hotel) I'm glad I wasn't looking for a pool because this is what it looked like. We booked a jacuzzi suite on hotels.com. When we got there the hotel was under contraction and they no longeR have jacuzzi rooms. They put us in a king suite. The remodel looked nice at first glance but when you look around they did a terrible job. The pool was closed, the elevator smelled bad, the tv didn't work, our door barley closed. They have homeless people living across the parking lot in front of tHe building. read more

Stayed one day as I checked in around 10:00 AM and checked out at 6:00 PM. Great place. Nice room with cold a/c. Comfortable bed and nice bathroom with hot shower and plenty of pressure. Only slight problem I found was water was slow to drain out of the tub while taking a shower. Didn't partake of the breakfast so I can't comment on it. I would definitely stay here again. read more

The breakfast was great! Amazing cinnamon rolls, skim/2% milk, hot chocolate / tea / coffee, eggs, bacon, gravy and biscuits, muffins, cereals, bagels, yogurt, 3 kinds of juices, and bananas. That's my kind of breakfast. The room was great, but it was right across the hall from the noisy ice maker - not much you can do about that. But the hotel lobby, elevator, and our hallway smelled of smoke. There is one smoking room on our floor, but the smell of smoke seems to permeate most of the hotel (thankfully, our room did NOT smell like smoke). read more

Worst ever. Booked from the road 10 mins away, used my points for a room for hearing impaired. When we arrived, we found the hotel FILTHY, little to no parking, dimly lit lot. We were so exhausted and went to our assigned room and the smell was gross. Something between dirty socks and cigarette smoke. I went back to the desk to request another room and was refused. The desk clerk was a bully and insisted that I booked a smoking room. I have asthma... No way would I make such a request. We asked them to cancel the reservation and refund my points. He again refused and refused to contact the manager. We left and went to a very nice Hampton Inn at the next exit. The next morning I called the manager, she said it was "policy" and CHARGED my credit card a full rate AND did not return my points. RIP OFF, Disgusting, Zero Hospitality! Stayed one night, King. Lady at check-in was very pleasant and professional. Besides being close to the highway she was the only plus. The room is very dated with only a new bed and flat-screen TV. The rest were more 80's style. It had a refrigerator but no Microwave, which is unusual. There were no glasses in the bathroom and had to use one of the three coffee cups. The bathroom had dirt in the corners and had the flimsiest toilet paper I've ever seen. The lighting fixtures had three different colors of bulbs from very cold bluish to gaudy yellow. For $135 a night I expected more than a Motel 8 experience. Won't be back. read more

This place is really nice. My husband & I stopped here after 6 hrs of driving & were tired & cranky. The front desk staff were friendly & helpful. They gave us an upgrade to a suite at no extra charge and suggested we join the free rewards program which took two seconds & earned us an additional discount. The room was huge with a nice firm king bed & pillows labeled "firm" and "soft". We slept so well that we didn't get up 'till 10am! The in-room coffee was actually good, the bathroom was nicer than the one we have @ home & the towels were big by hotel standards. I'd take off half a star for the shower head being rusty & funky looking but it worked fine & the water pressure was good. The free wifi & large in-room desk even let me sneak in a few business calls & work before we left. We both feel more rested than we usually do on the road. This is the absolute worst holiday inn express we have ever stayed at. I typically travel a lot for work and brought my family here for a weekend trip. The water would not drain in the tub, the washer and dryer was broke the first two nights I was there , the hotel check in attendant was rude, the bed sheets weren't changed on all three nights we had stayed. Stayed here 2 separate nights this trip. If they had the option I would give them 1 1/2 stars. The first night was good, pricey for the area but room was clean and had a cared for appearance. Tonight was a repeat of a previous review. I purposefully book a no-smoking room. On check-in I was given a room on the 3rd floor. Upon entering the room I immediately smell cigarette smoke. The bathroom was very strong with smoke. As an asthmatic I don't expose myself to cigarette smoke. I go downstairs and tell the clerk that someone had smoked in that room. He explains that the room was converted from a smoking room 2 months ago and that is the rate I booked. I explained I booked a nonsmoking room and he needed to supply one or cancel and refund my reservation. I was given another room. On checkout I see that my rate had been increased without ever being notified. I ask why he would increase my rate and the same clerk from check in rudely states that I changed rooms so my rate changed. I explained that good business practice for this is to amend my rate since they could not supply a nonsmoking room. He became very rude. I then stated that I would just notify the Holiday Inn corporate office and he grabs the phone says "whatever" and then says he is calling his manager. I'm hoping the practices here and possible remove this clerk as he does not understand the meaning of the words customer service. I was contacted by the General Manager today after contacting IHG corporate and received an apology and a refund -- just a shame I couldn't have gotten good service in my hometown without all the hassle and frustration. read more

Smelled a bit weird. Some mold in the bathroom and rust stains. The bed and bedsheets were clean, so that was a plus. The hotel definitely needs to be upgraded for the price. The staff was friendly and breakfast was good. read more
