First, the desk clerk couldn't even check us in! She told us we would have to book a room and register on our own thru their app because of the new software that had been installed. We should have gone some place else at that point. However, we registered on our phone in the car and went back to the desk clerk. The clerk didn't say a word at that point, just found us on the computer and handed us a card key. The room window was blocked by the Marriott sign, the bathroom needed updates, no hair conditioner and room bolt didn't work right. No complimentary breakfast provided, not even coffee. We expected much more from Marriott but we will not stay at a Marriott again! read more

A Brief stop on a long trip. Personnel friendly., Room was clean. The suite was large and the price was reasonable. Arrived late so I can't comment on breakfast since we did not eat breakfast at the hotel. Lots of places to charge electronics. read more

First off, the staff that I had face to face dealings with were very nice but more on that later. I checked in on Sunday evening and I was asked at check in if I would like housekeeping each day, I declined. After dinner on Monday I set my leftover box on top of the AC unit in the room and intended to eat it for breakfast on Tuesday. I woke up Tuesday morning and my food box was covered in ants. Obviously it went in the garbage and the garbage can in the hallway. I left work at lunchtime to go back to the room and request a new room. The clerk at the front desk obliged my request and gave me a room one door down and across the hall. I went to my old room to get my stuff, a bunch of ants still on the AC unit and switched to the other room. I mentioned the ants still being there to the desk clerk on my way out and she said someone should be on their way to clean it. I got out to my car and realized I forgot something in the new room so I went back to get it. While I was there two ladies were there to clean the old room and started talking about the "the guy in the room", me, asking how long he'd been there and this couldn't have just happened, but I'm sure it's worth it to him for a free room. I didn't ask for, nor was I offered a free/discounted/comped room and for these ladies to to suggest this was my fault, not knowing it was right in front of me, just added insult to injury. read more

After a month of sleeping in beds other than our own, we needed one last night in a rental before heading home. Having traversed the the long white beaches of the Gulf Coast, the narrow streets of Historic Philadelphia, the tourist-packed monuments of Washington, DC, the mountains of West Virginia, and the winding roads of rural Kentucky, we were ready to stop and flop. And when we did we landed in the lap of luxury at the Courtyard by Marriott in Somerset. The front desk clerk welcomed us with a warm and cordial greeting and then offered a wonderful upgrade to our room. The room was spacious, sparkling clean with all the amenities one needs - especially us weary travelers. A king-size soft bed with large fluffy pillows took up most of the space at one end of the room. A convertible couch and nightstand/small work area stood by the windows at the other. To the left of that was a greatly appreciated Keurig coffee maker with both decaf and regular coffee, plus a neatly hidden microwave and small refrigerator. On the adjacent wall was a work space with large, crystal clear flat screen tv. All of the area around the room, by the bed, et, had both grounded outlets and multiple USB plugs for charging electronics. The bath also was a modern, bright room with a large, refreshing walk-in shower. No door on the entry end was a surprise, but a great design nonetheless - no splashes outside on the bathroom floor! Interesting to note, the only artwork on the walls of this model-decorated room is a large wall mural behind the bed. No other prints or photos at all. The hotel hosts a bistro with limited menu and full bar. There is a beautiful indoor pool and up-to-date exercise equipment. Luxury at an affordable price; you'll get it here. read more

This is my new favorite hotel to stay at in Somerset. The staff is friendly, the place is new and clean, and the indoor pool is quaint yet refreshing. What more could ya ask for? I love the courtyard and the modern decor. The cafe has good food, and the seating area has private TVs in the booths! This place is just cool. I will definitely be making a return trip. read more

This Marriot is easy to find, convenient location. The manager was on deck to welcome me and provided excellent service. The room pricing is a little high end, but it's worth the price. My room was spacious, clean and comfortable. I plan to stay in this location again! read more

We were pleasantly surprised by this Courtyard. We've stayed in a bunch of Courtyards, and this one is at the top of our list. The room was SUPER clean, and the staff were engaging and helpful. They sincerely wanted our stay to be a positive one. Kudos to Dana, Amadea, and Koriena -- yes, we got their names since we truly want them to be recognized. The location is very convenient to a lot of things, and if we get to stay in Somerset again, we will be staying at this Courtyard. read more

I don't even know where to start. The worst service ever, and when our door battery died it took them over 2 hours to let us in even tough it was an emergency and one of my girls had to get her medicine. The manager was mad because we had to call the fire department to let us in the building because she wouldn't let the maintenance man, who come in on his day off to help us, break the handle off because it would look bad in the hallway of the hotel. She then went on to yell at him because he told her that where we needed my girls medicine that he might just have to break the doorknob off to let us in. Since the manager wasn't going to let the man break the doorknob, they made us wait over 45 minutes to look for a tool that the maintenance man made out of a wire clothes hanger and a piece of string. Manager was questioning what medicine we needed out of our room and why we needed to get into the room so bad. This hotel really needs to take a look at their staff and how they treat their guests. Maybe they should even give the poor maintenance man a raise. We were also unable to get towels and we were told it would be until 1:00pm the next day before we could get any. Definitely will not be staying here again. read more

Very clean and convenient location. The front desk agent wasn't thrilled to be there one of the times I've stayed, but I love the beds and that the TVs have Netflix! The bistro downstairs is pricey, but I had some of the avocado toast and I liked it pretty well. I also really liked how the lobby had a very chill, welcoming feel and fun furniture. read more

I booked at this location for a business trip, but since the location could not extend my visit to accommodate the full week I had to cancel with short notice. I was charged a fee of $141 for one night, which was in the terms that I was fully aware of. This would not have been an issue but the hotel did not send a cancellation notification nor did they offer a receipt for the charge. If you are familiar at all with business travel all items that must be expensed requires a receipt I all but pleaded with them to send me a copy of the charge via email/regular mail/text SMS. I was first sent an email with 0.00 balance, then I was told (by Conrad)that the manager had to process the request and this would happen first thing in the morning. I called back and asked to speak to a manager and the front desk person immediately transferred me to a voicemail without warning while in the middle of explaining the issue. So rude and unprofessional, I called back and asked her name and she replied that it was against HIPAA to disclose that information. I proceeded to explain what HIPAA was and she stated that they have their own version of HIPAA. First my recommendation is if you are going to charge anything provide a receipt, second hire individuals that not only can communicate professionally but can articulate information that they understand, third do what you say you will do if you are stating that you will call a customer or perform a task, do it so that we are not forced to take extra time out of our day to chase you down for something that should have been provided initially. I have never had this experience with any Marriott in the past and maybe this is a one-off situation but I will definitely think twice about booking with them again and absolutely not at this location. read more

New hotel in somerset. The staff was friendly and helpful although it did take a little longer to check in (might be the newness). Rooms were well appointed and clean. Good location. Will stay here again when visiting. read more
