This is the worst Holiday Inn Express I have ever stayed in. The receptionist was extremely rude and racist--she called me, a Black woman, "ugly." The hotel had pungent odors throughout the halls and inside the rooms, poor water pressure, and terrible breakfast selections. Staff showed no willingness to accommodate IHG members and even told me, "You can leave and find another hotel," after I simply requested a top-floor room. The overall environment was hostile and unwelcoming to guests. Additionally, the staff repeatedly lied about room availability, claiming that top-floor rooms would be available the following days, which was untrue. The combination of racist behavior and deplorable hotel conditions makes me never want to stay here again. read more

Expect to get the bare minimum to rest your head. This is definitely not a hotel where you should have any expectations of great service or accommodations. This isn't our first time here, but unfortunately the area is very limited with options. This may be the reason this hotel doesn't feel the need to be competitive. We arrived on 11/21 to an empty front desk and waited for 15 minutes. When the person arrived, she apologized because she was also providing service to one of the rooms. Staffing issues? Then after returning from a full day out, we came back to an untouched room that was supposed receive "limited" services due to the holiday (although the prices due not reflect limited pricing as customers receive less services). When we called the front desk, I asked what services were supposed to be provided, she said towels and trash. I then requested for towels and trash since it was 8pm and neither were done. There was no apology, accountability - just an ok. So, again, expect "limited" services and "limited" professionalism. read more

We are staying in a room on the 1st floor and we are hearing loud noises from a renovation on the 2nd floor and it is after 9pm. I don't mind if it's during the daytime but not at this time. read more

We have stayed in a Holiday Inn Express many times but this one in Douglas Ga. was a huge disappointment. The parking lot had very few cars which should have been an indicator. Visible mold in the AC supply vent in our room. Bathroom was dirty, toilet seat very loose . Killed a roach and another bug had no idea what it was in our room. No housekeeping on the second day. When we called the front desk to report this we were told that all housekeeping personal had gone home. We were brought two clean bath towel, two hand towels and a wash cloth. Continental breakfast almost uneatable due to the little amount of guests so that the food had sat out under heat for many hours. Third day housekeeping did come, emptied the trash, made beds, vacuumed up the bugs and were given two fresh bath towels. Thankful we leave tomorrow and hopefully Holiday Inn Express will adjust our bill to reflect the lack of comfort, service and experience we have come to expect. Kudos to the personnel, they were nice and not responsible for poor management beyond their control. read more

Don't bother staying at this hotel unless you enjoy being accused of stealing. Yes, they charged me $100 because they think me and my daughter took one of their lamps. Something that would not fit in either of our bags. I called to address and was assured a call back but it has been almost 2 weeks and nothing. They apparently have a theft problem but I believe they should be looking at their employees as opposed to blaming their guests. read more

The room was spacious, had a cozy setup. The bed was a queen (supposed to be king) but because I was there for business, it didn't bother me. The microwave and refrigerator were broken. The elevator smelled sour for days on end. The fitness room had no ventilation inside. The receptionists were lazy and had rude attitudes. I often saw the same receptionist guy outside smoking a cigarette all day long(he sat in front of my car) which I hated because I don't smoke. After having been made apprehensive by the poor reviews (especially reports of filthy rooms) of some of the other motel options in Douglas, I booked a room for the night at the Holiday Inn Express for 10/6/19. Although my visit was a quick in-and-out (arrived late in the evening, left by 8:45 am), it exceeded my expectations. Very up-to-date appearance, large, clean, and well appointed room. Quiet, too. Breakfast downstairs was OK (a bit below average for similar properties I've stayed at), but more than adequate. Did not have chance to try out motel amenities (like workout room), but what I saw looked good. Definitely was worth the extra money spent compared to less expensive options in Douglas. read more

(I had to update review after great experience with front desk)Yes it's under renovation, changes are good but, what I do not appreciate is bad customer service! The young man that was on the front desk was absolutely rude. If you hate your job or your shift take it out on your social media instead of the customers that pay your bills. When I come to Douglas I pay the extra money to stay at holiday inn because it's usually a good place to be. Well that changed this time. The staff has been NOT helpful at all. What hotel does not provide a cot?? I reserved a standard room not realizing it was a king - not two doubles. My mistake but come on! You can't change rooms for me? No ma'am you reserved this through a third party so we cannot change you to another room. A cot? No I'm sorry we do not provide that service. Sauna filled with equipment and unusable Will not stay again. EVER. I'm giving 2 stars for past experiences otherwise would give one. read more

Went to Douglas to visit my sister and her family. We have stayed at this hotel before and like our previous visit it was great. The staff was warm and welcoming and didn't bat an eye when we requested 3 extra pillows. We stayed in the King Executive suite this time and the room was beautiful and spacious. My husband is currently in college so he gets up early to do his homework. The spaciousness and design of the room allowed him to get up, turn on lights, and do his work without disturbing my sleep. The reason I am giving this hotel 4 stars (I would have given 4.5 but I couldn't figure out how to do that) is because of the shower. After traveling all day I long to take a nice hot shower. While the shower was hot; the shower head was horrible. The shower head had 2 settings 1) no water in the middle with the water spraying out in a wide circle so everything from your chest to your knees not getting hit by water or 2) all the water in the middle so the only thing that was getting wet was a small area where the shower head was aimed. Please invest in better shower heads, at least in the most expensive room in your hotel. read more

Great service and an excellent night's sleep. My husband and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Douglas (GA) 12/29/18 - 12/31/18. We were warmly greeted upon arrival. Staff were professional and excellent throughout our visit. Our room was spacious. The bed was quite comfortable, as were the pillows (we requested extra as a preference and they were waiting for us upon arrival). The room also had a chaise lounge, which was quite a nice surprise. The room and bathroom were very clean. Ample towels, wash cloths, etc. provided. Shampoo, conditioner, lotion and soap also provided, as well as the standard hair dryer. The room also had a microwave, coffee maker and refrigerator, all set up in the entryway, which was nice as it made it feel as if we had a little kitchenette. Two final notes -- 1) although the hotel's mini store was not up and running during our stay, the front desk made sure we were aware that store items were available (even providing a run down over the phone when I called down to find out what was available); and 2) the hotel breakfast was excellent (eggs, bacon/sausage, biscuits & gravy, pancakes, various cereals and oatmeal, french toast, various breads/pastries, granola variety, yogurt variety, coffee, tea, milk, orange juice, apple juice and lemonade. NOTE: The hotel has a business center, fitness center and indoor gym. However, as we did not utilize those areas, they are not included in this review. read more
