Fairly decent hotel. It's clean, has a pool, and the rooms are pretty spacious. A good place to crash for the night but not the most stunning luxury experience. It is also far enough away from the hubbub of campus, although there is student housing right next door. However, I would say that it's far enough that it doesn't make me feel like I'm smack dab in the middle of the University. Staff are quick and efficient with check in, and quick to respond to inquiries. They also have pretty expansive continental breakfast options and beverage service available for most of the day (coffee, hot water, etc). Overall, can't complain. Is it the best hotel I've ever been to? No, but it is a decent place to rest your head after a long day of travel. read more

I always pick Holiday Inn Express because they are all renovated, clean, and I'm apparently still a little kid because I like the pancake machine. We got a deal on Costco for a rental car and room and it was such a value, that it was like getting the car rental for free. Got the lowest grade room but they upgraded us to a suite so we had two queen beds and a queen sofa bed, which was great, because Mom couldn't climb up onto the regular beds. They sell a full breakfast with coffee, dairy, proteins, fruit, fresh cinnamon rolls, and my beloved pancake machine. I'm keto now so I was happy to find real bacon, sausage, and a cheesy omelet to eat. They have a coffee machine that keeps things clean. Glad we stayed and will stay here again when we're in town. read more

Wow this was really such a pleasant surprise. We weren't expecting much but the reviews were great so we decided to try it for a stop passing through Eugene. The rooms were well suited for our family of 2 adults and 2 young kids. The hotel was quiet which was also nice. The breakfast is the main thing to write about- wow. It had eggs, sausages, biscuits and gravy, made to order pancakes, oatmeal, yogurts, bagels...pretty much any hotel breakfast food you could think of. The pancake maker was really fun for the kids to watch. The only negative was the pool was a touch too cold and the hot tub was way way way too hot. Also the flooring is very very slippery. Also close to university of Oregon campus. We would definitely come back! read more

This whole hotel smells like an overdosed swimming pool with chlorine and bromine. The smell is very strong in the lobby, which is apparently on same floor as the pool. But the smell is all the way up in the fourth floor where we stayed. It's even in the room. So avoid if you're sensitive to chemical smells or even if you don't like the smell of living around a public pool that's filled with chemicals. read more

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone that is not okay with large numbers of screaming children until precisely 11:00( when the pool closes). We could hear them screaming from our room far down the hall. I asked the front desk to do something about it, and they said they could not until 11:00. I stayed here during a cross country road trip and loved everything from the friendly customer service, their clean facility, their amenities and their breakfast. The second I walked in I was greeted by the friendly female front desk clerk. When I checked out, the nice gentleman helped me out. They have a swimming pool and a washer and dryer. The hotel itself was older but had updated their rooms. The bed was super comfortable. The rooms had a fridge, a microwave, and a coffee maker including lots of extra k-cups. They also provided plates and extra cups. The lobby has a 24/7 coffee / tea station you can help yourself to. I loved making a cup of tea before bed. The breakfast was one of the best continental breakfasts I've ever had. They had a large variety of different bread, beagles, muffins, cereals, oatmeals and dairy products like yogurts (my favorite) no dairy options like soy milk and chocolate soy milk, fruit juices, fresh fruit, fresh baked cinnamon rolls, hot foods like eggs, sausage and biscuits and gravy. I love how they have little paper bags for you to pack your breakfast to go. They also have a pancake maker that makes you 2 fresh pancakes. The parking lot has a small Dutch Brothers stand that's great to grab a cup of Joe in the morning. There's plenty of parking in the front or the parking structure located across from the hotel. The hotel is conveniently located right next to the 5 Fwy and close to the college. The cost was pretty average to the other nearby hotels for about $124 a night Overall, I absolutely enjoyed my stay and I don't often say that about Holiday Inn Expresses, but this one really went above and beyond with their friendliness and attention to details. read more

We booked this hotel for the hot tub and confirmed it was working before making the reservation. After checking in and settling in, we were told it was closed. We explained the hot tub was the reason we chose this hotel, and the response was blunt: either find another place or take a 15% discount. It was 8:30pm after an 8-hour drive, so switching hotels wasn't realistic. I understand things break and it's not on the front desk to fix it but there was no heads up at check in, and the interaction felt rude and dismissive. I'm reminded why I should only book with Marriott. read more

Firstly, staff was great. Quick, friendly, and efficient with check in. Fitness center was great. Huge negatives regarding SAFETY and CLEANLINESS. I am a solo business traveler. These 2 things are my top priority. I booked this room for convenience in proximity to UO. Around 11 pm as I was about to wind down, I noticed my door was not completely sealed to the floor. Iseemed jammed as if someone shoved something under the door before. Anyone could have EASILY stuck something under the door. Please see photo for the gap under my door between my room and the hallway. Luckily I always travel with my portable lock. I would have requested another room, but I was only staying for one night and leaving early in the morning. This is absolutely unacceptable. As for cleanliness the bathroom was disgusting. Please see photos for reference. The parking garage was very nosy. There was a loud bang any time someone drove over whatever metal was inside the parking garage. I will not be staying here again. We booked this Holiday Inn Express because it is close to the Eugene Amtrak Station. Parking is spread out; however, both nights we were able to find a parking space near the front entrance. Parking in the lots required a pass that we were issued when we checked in. The person at the front desk was the kind of person that you like to see when you check into a hotel, friendly with a great sense of humor. The room was what I expect when I stay at a Holiday Inn Express; however, the bed was too soft and, in my estimation, in need of being replaced. One of the reasons that I like to stay at a Holiday Inn Express is the breakfast, especially, the signature cinnamon rolls. In this case, the breakfast left a lot to be desired and the cinnamon rolls were tasteless and dry. My wife tossed most of her's in the trash. I did not even try one. The second morning we skipped the breakfast and went to a restaurant. Next time we will book the Holiday Inn Express a few miles away in Springfield. read more

This hotel is pretty great and definitely a place I would choose to stay again. It has a Dutch Brothers in the front parking lot and a bus stop across the street. Plenty of free parking right out front. I found it to be an easy walk to the nearby college and was happy to find a natural foods store down the road. It was comparably priced to other places in the area, has a pool and includes a breakfast buffet. I have no idea when this was built but everything appears nice and new. The front lobby has the smell of chlorine, which is something I enjoy, but others may be bothered by. I enjoy knowing that things are being maintained as they should be. The room was in excellent condition and even though we had a room facing the street we were not disturbed by light or noise. Staff behind the front desk were professional and courteous. The mini store with snacks and toiletries next to the front desk was impressive. The breakfast buffet is a bit fancier than some others and open for a significant period of time so you didn't have to rush or wait if you got up too early. Besides, the higher than normal price per room because of the U of O vs UCLA football game two blocks away, excellent stay! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. There was even a coffee maker with several different pods of coffees and teas. Breakfast was delicious with a very good variety to choose from: scrambled eggs or cheese omelettes, bacon or turkey patties or sausage links, with sausage and biscuits. Lots of coffee, cereals, pastries, fresh fruits, yogurts, bread to toast and make-your-own pancakes! I was lucky to find the last available parking stall near the hotel, otherwise having to park in the rear parking structure. I would definitely return the next time I'm in Eugene, Oregon! After my last stay in a hotel where the sheets had not been changed before I checked in (not at a Holiday Inn) I was reluctant to stay in another hotel. However, circumstances found me in Eugene for the night. This hotel was probably one of the cleanest hotels I've stayed at. There was a very slight aroma of bleach throughout the hotel... not is a bad way, but in a CLEAN way. The gals at the front desk were friendly and efficient during my check in/check out. My room was CLEAN and comfortable. There was a shower but no tub. The breakfast was decent. Note, in the morning, the one elevator is painfully slow and busy with so many people going up and down. The cost of the hotel is crazy expensive which is why I gave it 4/5 stars. read more

Sum of experience - AOK. When next in Eugene we might stay here if the price was right (as it was on this visit) but not so stellar an experience for us to choose this over competitors if their price was right. A four star or better rating brings us back without the comparison shopping. Here are the pros and cons that led us to our three star outcome: THE GOOD THINGS: Convenient location on Franklin, just about half a mile to the new Matt Knight Arena and close to campus and good restaurants. Friendly desk staff. Very clean public areas and rooms. Comfy beds. THE NOT AS GOOD THINGS: Unavoidably noisy either from street on one side or train on the other. Nothing to be done about that - it is what it is for the location. Long distance charges made from our room at a time in late morning when we were not in the room. Cleaning staff? Phone system snafu? Unknown, but we had to take the time to have the charges taken off the bill. Lobby reeked of chlorine at times, from the pool, and it wafted up the stairway to the third floor where our room was located. Awful pillows on the bed. Shower head set very high and at an odd angle making adjusting the spray tough - even dangerous - to do by a short person (I'm 5' 4" and change) standing in a wet tub. The sink counters were extra deep - not so great if you need to lean forward to put on makeup to see yourself in the mirror...I realize not ALL of us are myopic but...a makeup mirror on counter would solve this. Old tube Phillips TV of smaller (maybe 27") dimension - in this "new age" could use an upgrade to flat screen for sure. Wi FI was S-L-0-W but we were able to plug into the DSL line so that saved the day. read more

We were driving up from California and needed a place to stay for the night. I chose this place because it's in a decently populated city (aka not in the middle of nowhere) and it's right off the 5 freeway. There are also a lot of food options in the area. I called their front desk hoping to book a room for the night. They had a couple rooms available and I chose the king with the suite (sofa bed) which he said was $164. I chose not to give my credit card information over the phone and so they said without one on file they would only be able to hold the room until 6pm which was fine with me (if they had one on file they could hold it all night). I figured it would be fine because if all their rooms were booked for that night, I'd find a room in one of the other 15+ hotels on that street (there are probably way more than 15 in that immediate area). When I got to the hotel to check in (I got to the hotel at 6:10pm) the front desk staff was expecting me (although she was not the same person as the one I was talking to on the phone which was a guy) so I thought that was cool. Some amenities: -Tons of free parking -Free breakfast form 6:30am-10:30am. A lot of options as well as vegetarian options -Fitness center -Pool -Complimentary guest laundry?? I saw the room with the machines and it didn't look like you needed to pay. I didn't try it but I was very surprised by that The room itself was very clean and nice. I was very pleased by the entire experience. read more

After a foolish decision to stay at an inn on my way down to SF last week, I opted for spending a bit more for an actual hotel on my return trip - and I could tell the difference the moment I first called them, and the moment I first showed up in their lobby. The person working the counter was much friendlier, much more alert, and the lobby itself was leaps and bounds better than the Rodeway Inn I stayed at. The rooms too, were much nicer (they had better be, for the extra money). The linens and sheets were clean, the bed was comfy, the bathrooms were spacious and ADA-compliant (there was actually a shower stool inside the tub), there was free wi-fi, and the room even had a little kitchenette with a sink, microwave, and small fridge. It was not without its downsides though. The fridge, unfortunately, when actively cooling, was incredibly loud - part of this I think has to do with the alcove the fridge is placed in, which causes sound to reverberate throughout the entire bathroom. It didn't keep me up or wake me, but it was pretty annoying while I was in the bathroom itself. Also, you're close to the I-5, and, from the sound of it, train tracks, which might be something light sleepers should keep in mind. But for the better staff, nicer amenities, and higher overall comfort, the extra $45 I paid over my Rodeway Inn stay (~$120 with AAA versus ~$75) was completely worth it. And had I woken up earlier, the complimentary breakfast they do until 10am sounded pretty darn good too. read more

I'm sorry to say I can't recommend staying here. I appreciated the free breakfast and the gym area, but my room was so noisy from the front doors sliding open and closed that I was woken multiple times overnight. It also was a nearly constant annoying noise throughout the evening before I went to bed. The receptionist's token apology didn't help. In addition, the bathroom had a mildewed smell, which doesn't help the ambiance. I will not be staying here again. read more

Great place! Room is clean and updated. Specious enough for adults and children to share. Room has a fridge, microwave, big screen tv and typical amenities other Holiday Inn offers. FYI...they ARE currently under construction/remodeling some floors in hotel. Be advised the parking lot is small, but on the bright side they do have additional parking on the first floor parking structure in same vicinity. This hotel allows 2 vehicles per room and they also provide you with a permit to park in the parking structure. Even though they are remodeling they do give members complimentary 5,000 pts or a free drink at their convenient store on site. Not too shabby may I say. I would definitely come back and stay here again. It's really close to downtown and everything is nearby. Downtown is like a 10 minute drive and the Autzen stadium is maybe a 15 min drive. It's too bad we didn't get to enjoy more time there due to traveling schedule. Maybe next time I'll make this a destination to stop and spend more time. read more

The staff here is amazing! The hot tub is great and they have a warmish pool indoor. Plenty of parking and it's close to everything. The staff here, again are great! My family and I stayed here for 3 months and we had issues, ups and downs moved rooms until Sam at the front made a suggestion and solved everything! He is awesome, they treated my 3 year old like a rockstar and said hi every time we walked down the hall and she loved to say hi. Breakfast is consistent maid service was great especially Betty. Usually hotel choices for me come down to a choice between quality and economy. For a quick trip to Eugene, economy won out. Besides, most nicer places (B&Bs) want a 2-night commitment. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this Holiday Inn Express. It is a new property and the room was not only spacious and clean, it was stylish. The front desk staff was pleasant and prompt and the hotel had so many things I look for: **Free parking **Business center - two computers all set up so you can pop in for a quick Yelp. **Swimming pool and spa **Breakfast included Now the funny part is that we arrived late and (probably) got the worst room in the place. Ground floor, facing the front of the hotel on a busy road, next to an exit AND a stairwell. The front window looked out on a dumpster and a Dutch Brothers Coffee. Frankly, it could have been a disaster. But, I didn't have any issues with noise. Yay! The hotel did a fantastic job anticipating needs. Forget your toothbrush or having trouble sleeping? Just stop by the front desk for complimentary toiletries or a sleepmask and earplugs. The only reason this isn't a 5-star rave is that well, my room did face a dumpster (!), the breakfast while free, is just meh at best, and the location isn't in the heart of downtown. Although it is a pretty quick and easy 5 minute drive away. This is a place I'd definitely stay at again under similar circumstances. read more

Great hotel for a great price! My husband and I are on our road trip/move to WA from San Diego(Military). I found this hotel on Yelp and called about 30 mins before we got to the location to see if there's any room available for us and our 3 kids. Which there was! The staff is very friendly when we arrived. We found out that they do government discount since we were military. Saved us about $20. The room they assigned to us was very spacious and upgraded. 2 full size beds with a living room area with pull out couch. Everything is neat and clean and you can still smell the new paint. The only downfall is the parking spaces. There were pretty limited since the hotel is close by a GYM and condo. They all share parking spaces. But overall experience was great. Very new, clean, & modern hotel. I believe it is a beach theme. When you first walk into the lobby, it smells like cleaning products which I don't know if that's good or bad. The lobby is very lit up at night. The room itself is pretty nice. Very spacious with room to actually get around. The bathroom is very roomy as well. The room basically has everything you need! The pool is very spacious also and is open from 7am to 10pm. The gym is a decent size and is open 24 hours. I stayed at about 5 different hotels this week and the breakfast here is definitely the best. They had a variety of all kinds of breakfast foods including a pancake machine! The egg white omelette with bell peppers was my favorite. I don't know how you could possibly go wrong with this hotel. The front desk man working Friday night (6/21/19) was super nice and was very helpful! Give him a raise!! read more

We've stayed here before and have always had such a great experience, however, this time they were just a little outta kilter. Of course there's always the PROS: Great location for University of Oregon, clean, comfy rooms (they have the best pillows), and a very nice breakfast with the coolest made-to-order pancake machine. And they have a small business center for guests to use to print out boarding passes or check emails. And anywhere you need to go is just about 15 minutes away so it's a great location. Plus as an added bonus, Track Town Pizza is a couple doors down and will deliver your pizza to your room. Their pizza is GREAT!! As for the CONS - lobby has a strong smell of chlorine from the pool, they offer free coffee, tea, and hot cocoa in the lobby, but the couple of times we went down in the evening, the coffee was cold, so you know it had to be sitting there for a while. But if you're really needing a cup of coffee, there is a Dutch Bros. Coffee stand right outside the hotel. :-) On this last trip we had a couple of experiences that kinda caught us off guard. 1. We found that the guests in rooms that face the Dutch Bros Coffee stand will be woken up between 6am - 6:30am from the trash truck that comes daily to empty the dumpster. And they are not quiet! So if you are expecting to sleep in and you are able to see the coffee stand from your window, I'd suggest you ask to be moved. We had driven 16 hours from CA, checked in late, only to be woken at 6:15 am the next morning and each morning thereafter. 2. After our first night's stay, we left for the next day to do errands, and when we returned that evening, our room had never been made up. And yes the "Do Not Disturb" sign had been removed. I called the front desk and they just offered to bring up fresh towels. They didn't seem too concerned about the room not being attended to. The next day, housekeeping did come, but they didn't empty our OVERFLOWING trash can. We had a pizza box and water bottles and lots of trash inside and neatly stacked outside of the trash can, so it was pretty obvious it needed to be emptied. We finally had to flag down a housekeeper and took our trash out to her. 3. When we got our express checkout receipt, there was $4 charged to our bill for snack bar charges that we did not make. So make sure to review your bill closely. *but not to worry, the front desk removed it from our bill with no problem. Glad to be heading back home today to get a good night's rest without the 6am trash truck wake-up call! Next time I'll know to ask for a different location. read more

This 1 star review is specifically for Donovan, one of the night clerks. When I went to buy an ice cream there was a gold sign that said the clerk would return... eventually. I figured, being the integrous person I am, I would return and pay for it later. Then, old Donovan came out of NOWHERE accusing me of 'seeing him in the back room' and walking off anyways. He was EXTREMELY rude and continually occused me of theft. I showed him my eye, which had been injured, and told him if I didn't see him that it might be why. He said "BULLSHIT!" The other people in the lobby were as shocked as I was, this blatant aggression over an ice cream I had full intention of paying for was dumbfounding. I asked him to change his tone, when he speaks with me, he didn't. Then, he said my transaction didn't go through and double charged my account, luckily capital one caught it and alerted me. Think you're slick? So... Genius... If my plan was to steal ice cream why in the hell would I come up to the desk in the first place? Why would I look for someone to pay? You said you're gonna email your manager, they didn't contact me, I bet they deal with a bunch of your little pee pee energy every night, flexing on random people over sugary snacks huh? To everyone else I dealt with, YOU ALL ROCK, I REALLY ENJOYED YOUR HELP AND FRIENDLY DEMEANOR! Side note: my first room had blood stains in a lot of places, including the blinds and bathroom walls. I have drawn blood for a living, I know blood stains when I see them. I had to piece together a "clean" set of bedding for my first night off of the 2 beds and out of the closet, and then moved rooms, which was better. Saw a guy in the elevator with a pest sprayer too, that's never good. read more

I've spent a few nights here getting my oldest boy signed up for classes (Go Ducks!) & moved into student apartment here in Eugene. It's not a bad joint to crash. 4 stars because no specific complaints. We always get the suite (room # n27, where n = floor level) to give my younger son some space in the living room with fold-out bed, while wife and I take the albeit kinda small bedroom. But hey, it's only for a couple of nights and nobody should spent too much time hanging around the hotel, right? read more

We needed a hotel for a couple days while our motorhome was worked on. Found this on my entertainment book travel page. I got the royal screw job from their booking agent but when I called this hotel directly things changed 100%. My room was booked for less, and my stay was great. They have been remodeling and I got one of the new rooms. They put thought into this place. It had a Keurig coffee maker, a fridge, and microwave. The Keurig was the big seller. We had "2" tv's, a couch, a lounge chair, a desk. Think they call it a suite. The staff was great also. Check them out you won't be disappointed. read more

I had the corner suite which was very quiet which made sleeping a dream. The king size bed was the perfect combo of soft yet firm. The couch is the living room was very used but got the job done when I needed it. The bathroom was very spacious and had double sinks, jet tube and a stand-alone shower. Normally I skip the complimentary breakfast because no usually offers nondairy alternative milk. This place offered vanilla almond milk (great for coffee) and soy milk for my cereal. The choices on the breakfast bar really had something for everyone. Meat, eggs, biscuits and gravy, instant oatmeal, great cereal options, bagels (including gluten free), and grab and go cinnamon rolls. The gym is ok but is does smell heavily of chlorine (it's next to the pool). The building under construction however the workers started after 9am which was nice. The staff were all friendly and shared knowledge about the area. I'd stay here again. This hotel has had its ups and downs. During my most recent stay the housekeeping was questionable. I asked for the housekeep to vacuum all of the old food off of the floor. I picked up what I could but it just got worse. Housekeeping didn't vacuum and left everything as is. I requested the sheets be changed and when I went to get in the bed that cold gross thing touched my leg. I was disgusted and called the about this issue. I was informed by the manager that the housekeeping supervisor would clean my room. Well the housekeeping supervisor did vacuum the floor. The sheets on one remained inside out. The good news is I had a second bed and it was creepy crap free. read more

This is a lovely hotel. It's so important for the front desk to make a good first impression, and I was not disappointed. Both women who checked us in were friendly and helpful. Big smiles when I walked in the door. The rooms are roomy and clean, and beds are so comfortable. More than enough storage and plenty of places to plug in! The indoor pool is area is spotless. I had a nine year old with me who is not a strong swimmer yet and loved that the pool depth was never over his head. The breakfast is good. Pancakes and "Cinnabon" cinnamon rolls made all of us happy! Just an overall great hotel. It is not far off the freeway and worth the time it takes to exit. One of the best hotels in this price range I've ever stayed in. read more
