What a great hidden gem in downtown Eugene. Came here for a company Christmas party. Great staff and good beer. They had a live band playing. Can't say much more as we were in a closed off section for the party. It's definitely a place to check out again. Sorry it's so short, as again, the food was catered by an outside company, but I definitely loved the vibe. Parking is the hardest part as it is only street parking in a residential neighborhood. read more

Territorial gets five stars from me in three different arenas: Atmosphere: the tasting room is absolutely the most comfortable, chill place to hang out that I've ever found in Eugene. There are settings good for small and large groups, and a nice bar if you're traveling solo. There are bowls of small noshes out at all times, but if you come on Thursday for happy hour, they lay out a pretty nice spread of cheese and meats. Special events: I rented the tasting room for my graduation party and it was one of the best experiences I could have imagined for that important occasion. The room rental fee was $150, which seemed eminently reasonable, plus the beer and wine sold during the party. We were able to bring in our own catered food with no restrictions or hassles. Wine: and finally, the wine. Territorial has absolutely THE BEST rose wine I've ever had. During the summer months, a cold glass of Territorial rose is one of the best things I can hope for. And it's $12 a bottle, folks. That's less than $3 a glass. Their pinot gris and pinot noir are excellent too, and while I'm not a big fan of chardonnay, I find theirs to be eminently drinkable. Do yourself a favor and check out the Territorial tasting room this weekend - you won't be sorry that you did. read more

Shhhh. Keep it a secret. It's too good (cute, fun, good wine & even some beer choices) to share with the masses. I'm tempted to say it's terrible so people will stay away but it really is a great, fun, small winery. A nice way to unwind after work or a pre-dinner-out meeting place. read more

First time there, had a blind date set up. A Friday night and was deserted when I got there but filled up soon afterwards. Live music, nice room, and we had the wine sampler: 7 tastings for $7. The Stonehouse Pinot was fantastic and we ordered a bottle to share. There were bowls of salty crackers and a bowl of chocolate truffles. Now that I have to know about viticulture for a living, I can say that Territorial does not necessarily have the most amazing wines on the planet (which is what I thought once). But who cares? Not everyone can grow in the Loire Valley, and not everyone should. Their wines are great all the same and have a personality all their own. I received a generously-donated bottle of their rose as an award once, and it was fabulous. (I generally don't even like roses or blushes!) Not to mention, this business is a supportive member of the community. Without Territorial, the Eugene Poetry Slam may have died a sad death long ago. Some of my best slam memories happened in their storage bay. (Ha!) The acoustics sucked and it was right cold in the winter, but it has to be one of the coolest poetry venues in existence. How many people can say they've been to a poetry slam at a WINERY for chrissake? And Jordan, the girl who works at the wine bar (and may do other things, for all I know), is both hot and hella fun to talk to. She was one of my favorite people to see every month at the poetry slams. I've also got a soft spot for the place because it's where I popped the question to my partner in crime. Maybe I'm biased because it's so full of great memories, but this place is certainly highly recommended. read more

This is the best "local" in Eugene. Great music (I mean, often really great, saw the Front Porch Band (with guests) last Thursday, where else but Eugene can you get music of this quality in your living room?) Great drinks at great prices (straight from the vineyard). A winery in the back, for Pete's sake. And the head barmaid Lisa is an institution in her own right. Nice outdoor space for when the weather is nice, a third Friday monthly "bring your own dead thing" BBQ. A few nosh plates, but no real food unless a cart parks outside is its only downside. I first got turned onto this place as a stop on a wine tour we took in 2009. They showcased a 2008 Equinox Vineyard Chardonnay that wasn't quite done in the barrels. I had never had a wine that was treated with lactic acid before. This was the wine that finally opened up the other half of wine for me: The whites. They're still selling the '08 chard to date. Highly recommended at $18... unless you're a member of their wine club! The wine club is an excellent way to save: 15% on all purchases any day they're open 20% during Memorial and Thanksgiving weekends 20% on space rentals The wine club comes with a low pressure recruitment into an informal, semi-annual wine purchase plan. Plan really isn't the word though, as there's no contract. They email you when the package is ready and typically throw a tasting, which sounds like a good time out anyway. It's usually 3 themed bottles of wine with a little accessory and recommendations on food pairings. The tasting room is laid back. It attracts a pretty chill crowd (it IS Whittaker afterall) and they serve crackers and good cheese on certain days (I'm not sure of the availability.) Great experience read more

Four stars for quality and five for value, atmosphere, and service. If you haven't been to their tasting room, go on a Thursday, when they provide a generous spread of snacks and live music. Other times they have little bowls of salty snacks on the bar and tables. While I don't consider myself a wine snob - I won't spend more than $30 on a bottle - you won't catch me drinking Two Buck Chuck. For many years, I wouldn't even consider domestic wines. Moving to Oregon has changed all of that. The '09 Pinot Gris is excellent - certainly the best they've done. The new '10 Rose is good - better than the '09, and not bitter like similarly priced imported Roses I've tried. They have a decent cheap noir (less than $20) and a couple of reserve batches that are more expensive and pretty tasty. I've been hanging out here since '05 but have been a wine club member for only a year. I attended my first wine club event recently and was wowed at what I'd been missing: enjoying live music and free tastes of at least three featured wines (and not a skimpy taste either - about half a glass) served with complementary small plates by knowledgeable, enthusiastic staff in a pleasant, relaxed setting. Other benefits of membership include 15% off all purchases and the occasional close-out sale. I just scored a case of the '09 Rose at just under $5/bottle. read more

I wish I had a better experience because I see so many great reviews. When we got there the person behind the counter took a while to acknowledge us because she was making small talk with another patron. Eventually she made her way over to us. Without a smile or greeting us she tossed a menu on the counter, "Here's a menu." and walked back to the person she was talking to. We ordered a humus plate ($9) and white wine tasting flight ($5). My experience with other wineries- when you order a flight not only are they friendly but the server typically gives you a general description of the wine. This server was stone-faced the whole time and rarely looked at us in the eye. When we would finish one wine taste she would eventually break away from her conversation or texting (yes, we saw her doing this several times), pour a bit more in our glass and just say the word, 'Reisling', and then walk away. It was a weird experience. Bad energy. I'm not sure I would go back. read more
