This was a nice and clean hotel. Stayed in the room with king bed. Bathroom was nice. Air conditioner worked great. Friendly staff. The continental breakfast was very good and had many choices. Sad fact, they did not have the waffle makers and the pancake maker was broken. I enjoy my continental breakfast and is what I look for in a hotel. This one has pastries, along with bagels and muffins, fruit, yogurt and cereal as well. Scrambled eggs and cheese omelet, pork sausage and pork patties biscuits and gravy. My husband and I lost power during the storm early Tuesday morning we drove to the Holiday Inn Express in Terrell. My husband went in asked if they had any rooms available. He spoke with KATE she was so very kind and helpful, she registered us while my husband went to park his truck. Well.. with the storm the credit card machine wouldn't work. She tried so very hard to get the machine to work but was unsuccessful. However, she contacted her manager to see what options she had and with her managers approval and some additional information we were able to get a room. Kate in my view went above and beyond to help us on that stormy night. The room was clean and the bed was soooo comfortable. Just want to shout out to KATE and say thank you for what could have been a miserable night and making it a GREAT one. Kate certainly is an asset to the Holiday Inn Family. I made a reservation at the front desk due to variable prices online and they gave me the keys to the room immediately and said check in in an hour. Since I had things to do I did not check in till midnight. Upon arrival found that there were no towels in the room, the whole place looked like it's never been clean at all. Talks front seat about towels and they did not bring any at all. Went to the grind desk and requested 3 towels specifically but they only gave 2 towels. I am not sure what is wrong but looks like management need to revamp this place up. This place don't deserve the Holiday Inn Express branding. read more

Love the Holiday Inn this one will not be back. When I called in book room was one price when I got there was a different price! Then Casandra didn't even acknowledge I was a gold elite member. Wasn't very friendly like the other ones I been to had a little attitude. People walking out other customers just as nice as she could be to them. Room wasn't to clean well the floors and ceiling look like had mold. Woke up one morning there was a big cock roach on top of toilet. Laura was a sweetheart heart vey caring and helpful!!!!!! You need more employees like her hard worker and concerned about your stay! The guy who cleans the rooms very nice and accommodating to our needs!!!! But, this place I give star to those 2 employees!!!! This place needs over haul! The lock on our door was about to fall off & had spider webs on lamp which I clean up! The employees did not wear masks properly nor consistently when interacting with customers. They also did not enforce for customers to wear masks in public areas. We had a two night stay in which we were NEVER notified that housekeeping will only clean your room every 5 days or with written authorization to enter our room. This meant that we soon ran out of towels, toilet paper and trash piled in the room expecting for it to be cleaned, and we were not informed about the 5 day rule until hours before checkout, and only because we asked why our room had not been cleaned. When we encountered the housekeeping staff going into other rooms, they were also not wearing masks. This made us uncomfortable as well. This hotel is not taking proper Covid precautions. read more

My five co workers came for training with our sister company in Terrell and we stayed here for 3 nights. The rooms are large modern and clean. Front desk personal was always friendly and helpful. Breakfast is served daily and was decent. Holiday in offers free wi fi plug in at your room but no wireless for Internet usage. Only con was that my co workers saw several over sized water bugs in the hallways and in one instance in her room. I myself did not see any what so ever. I would stay here again in the future especially since we all received the corporate rate of $79.00 per night! read more

We arrived late and got stuck with a handicap equipped room with 2 queens. The room was ok but the bathroom was nasty. The mold on the floor around the bath/shower was disgusting. Our mom passed away in MA where her funeral was held and our family went to Terrell for her burial on Saturday the 6th. My husband and I checked in on Thursday and requested that, if possible, our family could all stay on the same floor. There was no problem doing that. On Friday when all the family and my good friends had arrived we didn't want to go out to eat so we asked at the front desk & were allowed to eat together in the breakfast area. The staff went beyond to make this difficult time for us as easy as possible. Everyone who works there is outstanding. The rooms were large and very clean. We normally return "home" to visit friends and this is the hotel where we stay. Special thanks to Priscilla, Samantha, Kerry, Ryan, Evan, & Roderick. I may have not gotten all the names, but as I mentioned earlier, everyone on the staff is wonderful. We will return in October. read more

My son was traveling from NC to TX to report to his first duty station for the Army. The front desk clerk refused to rent him a room because he's under 21 years of age. She refused even after explaining that he was traveling alone to report to his first duty station. He offered to show his military ID. He then asked to speak with the manager to explain. The manager... Cassandra, also refused and stated it is "policy." I expected better from such a large company. The Holiday Inn has locations all over this country and I'm sure this isn't the first time our service men and women have been refused service due to the age restriction. I understand the reason for the age restriction. But to be sure, the leadership for such an organization can come up with a solution for this type of situation. Ask them to see their military ID, their reporting papers, etc.. and take care of the men and women who take care of us. read more

This hotel is the best you can get in Terrell, no joke. Indoor pool! and jacuzzi (Call to make sure it is working if this is the main reason you book - it was broken when we came there but they gave us a discount and also handled it well. Staff said it is almost always working well) Rooms are basic but clean and come with nice sized fridge. Walking distance to the outlet mall, Ihop, Carmona's mexican and Silver Saloon. Below average for a Holiday Inn Express. The Internet speeds are ridiculously low and subpar for business travelers. Ceilings are paper thin and it sounded like people were pogo stick jumping above me and it was just walking (I think). My towels smelled like cig smoke as the vent somehow in the bathroom is shared with smoking room and it slightly came into my room. Better than average fitness center though. Initially I was nervous about this place from reading some of the previous reviews but this was by far my best experience at a Holiday Inn Express Suites and we stay in them a lot! The hotel is incredibly clean and looks like it was recently completely remodeled. The staff at the front fest were beyond kind and helpful. I asked if I could buy milk for my baby and they stated they didn't have any for sale but got me one out from the fridge for the morning. The rooms were very clean and I love the eye make up remover! Not all holiday inn expresses offer these. We got in very late so I wasn't able to take pictures but it is beautiful and very clean. The hotel is also right next to a small outlet shopping plaza. I highly recommend this place if you are staying on the east side of Dallas. read more

Booked a standard King room as a rewards member, but when I checked in they gave me two queens. What's the point of booking ahead if the room I booked isn't available for me? The hallway smelled funny (fourth floor). Not like cigarette smoke, but...off. Maybe cleaning supplies. I'm allergic to cigarettes and did get a non smoking room but the room next to me obviously had smokers in it because my bathroom smelled so strongly of cigarettes I had to close the door with the vent on and stuff towels under the crack. The room was not clean. There were black marks on one of the comforters and old cotton balls and garbage in plain sight between the bathroom vanity and wall. Picture attached. We had such a great experience at this hotel. Our family arrived late at night, tired from a long afternoon of driving. Roderick greeted us and checked us in quickly. He was so kind and treated us really well. After we got into our room, my husband went back to ask for a cot for our littlest to sleep on. Instead, Roderick had us grab our bags and sent us upstairs to a much bigger room with 2 beds and a pull-out coach. It was a wonderful, clean room and we all slept really well. This is my home away from home! I've stayed here on 6 different occasions for a period of 5-6 nights per stay. The only "problem" I ever had was on my last trip, my company had reserved the room but hadn't paid for it. It was a Sunday night and there was no one at my corporate office that could offer immediate assistance. It had been a long day as I'd just had the same issue at hertz and it took almost 30 mins for them to resolve! The hotel employee (after verifying with her manager) allowed me to spend the night free of charge because she said she knew we would get the paperwork ironed out later. I was very appreciative! I think the hotel staff are always as helpful as can be. The morning breakfast is very good (except the sausage patties which for some reason always taste a bit funny to me)! They always have one meat - sausage patties, links, bacon, ham - pancakes, eggs (sometimes scrambles sometimes as an omelet), toast, bagels, the best cinnamon rolls you've ever eaten, and muffins, cereal and fruit. The lady in the breakfast area is very kind and attentive. She remembers me of course and we always have a nice chat! Most importantly though, the rooms are clean. The beds are super clean and I love the pillows! Half of them are embroidered with the word firm and the other half soft on the pillow cases. There is a flat screen tv in each room but I hardly ever use mine - I'm on the iPad taking advantage of the free wifi! They have a business center room with two computers, a printer and a small library of books. They have a pool room and a fitness room. The fitness room is the only one I haven't explored! Holiday Inn Express is located just across from Tanger Outlets and beside an ihop - right off of I-20. I would definitely recommend staying here. The first week I stayed at a different hotel which shall remain nameless (la Quinta!) and I couldn't wait to transfer out of there. The entire hotel smelled funny. The beds had those old bed spreads on them. And the chair in my room was badly stained. I felt dirty just being there and it cost about the same as Holiday Inn Express! If you have to stay in Terrell, do yourself a favor and stay in the best hotel around - holiday inn express!!! read more

Because there are no negative ratings I gave this hotel a 1. Imagine our surprise when we awoke to find ourselves covered in what turned out to be bed bug bites. Management knew of the infestation problem and instead of doing their due diligence by making sure the problem was taken care of they just had the room "treated" and called it a day. For 30 minutes while we showered and gathered our things carefully so as not to further contaminate ourselves and watched as maintenance gathered the bugs in a cup we were told that they knew of the problem this room and other rooms had with bed bugs. They also found large spots of feces on one of the mattresses that the bed bugs have made...it is as disgusting as it sounds. So i was a little taken aback when in speaking with the GM I asked what other actions they took in treating the problem and he flat out lied to me in my face and said he knew of no such problem with bed bugs in my room. I would highly recommend not wasting your money with this hotel as there are others in the area OR do not take my advise and end up like my son this morning with both feet top and bottom being covered in huge bite welts!! read more

If you have severe allergies to cigarette smoke like my family does, this is the only hotel in the area to stay. It is 100% non smoking! The rates are reasonable and include breakfast. There is even an indoor pool if that's your thing. We usually pay the $20 more and get the suite. The extra space is needed with 2 small boys. Brittany Baker is the Manager and she has gone out of her way to make sure I was able to check in early one time when I needed too. Overall, a super place to stay with family. read more

We arrived to an extremely lovely lady with a ready to take care of you attitude. The lobby is clean, the eating area is nice. (I didn't spend a lot time their. Just got coffee and left). On that note, they don't serve coffee in the Libby after breakfast, but you can make coffee in your room. My room I would rate a B-for cleanliness. The carpet was vacuumed and furniture dusted. A lounge chair needs to be recovered. Frig is clean as is the microwave. The bed was a little hard but comfy. The sheets have wooly's on them and are old. Still they appear clean. The walls on the other hand have spider webs flying when the air comes on and black marks on the walls in the bedroom. In the bathroom everything was neat with plenty of clean towels. Vanity was clean. The bottom of the bathtub could us some Clorox and a good scrub. It was not really creamy white. Corners in the bathroom had dirt. A cut out in the wall behind the door in the bathroom had needed to be cleaned. This is a friendly place and it was quiet. read more

Do not ever stay at this hotel, especially if you're part of a group. We made reservations for 25 rooms a year in advance and two days before our group was scheduled to get there, they called and told me that they allowed another group to extend their stay and some of my group would be forced to use rooms with just a single king-sized bed instead of the rooms with two beds like we reserved. When the group arrived, it turned out that SIXTEEN of the twenty five rooms were now king-sized beds. The ladies in our group were livid at having to share a bed with someone they didn't know that well. On top of that, the hotel didn't even give us all the receipts and it took two days to get it emailed to us. (Decent price) Came back though around the end of the month was told the price for a room was 250+ because that weekend was canton trade days, we know what and where canton tx is so that's the problem they are over 30 min. Worst hotel ever stayed at. Had a wedding block, and they did not have bride room or preacher rooms reserved even though we had a confirmed email showing they had them reserved. Sheets were stained, shower leaked/ran water all night long and office didn't fix or switch rooms, poor customer service! I will never stay there or let family coming to visit stay there again! My family has been staying here on and off for the past 3 weeks. The staff is nice. The breakfast attendant Virginia is outstanding she gets 5 STARS. She's absolutely delightful and on task. She has customized my children's pancakes to make them bite size minis instead of big pancakes. The only reason I gave this hotel 4 Stars instead of 5 is because the pool has been broken for over 10 days now. I have been here for 3 weeks now and have yet to see anyone actually working in the pool area. This has been a real bummer for my kids. read more

TRAVERLERS BEWARE! If your wanting a quiet and restful sleep, KEEP DRIVING! After spending 12 hours on the road, I decided it was time to pull over and get some rest. I asked the clerk for a QUIET room, away from the ice maker and elevator. He said he would put me on the top floor away from everyone. Around 9:30, an extremely loud pounding and vibration started outside. I called the same clerk and asked where the loud music was coming from. He said the music was coming from the "saloon" behind the hotel. Knowing good and well I wanted a nice quiet room he put me a room facing the saloon. I asked what time it closed he said 12. Which was lie. The loud booming saloon didn't close until 2. There were also dead bugs in the bathroom overhead light. Carpet was worn out. Didn't feel comfortable with just my bare feet. Don't waste your hard earned money on this hotel. I feel more tired and aggravated than when I got here. read more

There was no recognition of my IHG platinum status or offer for a goody bag or welcome points when I checked in as is customary for these hotels. That should have been a sign of the rest of the stay. The first room has 2 burned out lights that I noticed right away. The next morning I found bugs on my robe that was lying on the bed. I've Googled bed bugs and I'm sure that's what they were. I also killed a small bug on the bathroom floor. I asked for a different room. This one seemed OK until I flushed the toilet and the handle came off in my hand. Tried to call the front desk but the button on the phone that says front desk doesn't get you there. Had to leave my room and go downstairs. They had to put me in another room since there was no one to fix the toilet. 3rd room has lights over the sink that sometimes come on and sometimes don't. The sheets had stains. Both the first and 3rd rooms had irons that leaked. The only vending machine that has drinks in the whole hotel was not working.I was told I would have to go to the gas station down to road to buy a bottle of water. No one asked me why I was checking out a day early when I left. There was no thank you for your stay. I stay in a lot of hotels. This is the worse. I tried to put his review on the Holiday site but they refuse to post it. Just know that when you see all good reviews on their hotels it's because they won't post the ones they don't like. 3 different people have promised me points to compensate me for the problems but after a month they haven't shown up. read more
