I loved this hotel! After arriving to Dallas late at night on a Friday it was madness trying to find a hotel in the city. Lots of hotels were booked out and it was a busy night with people and drivers everywhere enjoying the weekend. I decided to drive outside of the city to find a hotel, 30-mins from Dallas I luckily found availability in Terrell. It is a small town which was nice for a quiet night. The front desk was super welcoming! Upon entering the lobby smelled sooo nice. My room was comfortable and clean, I had a pleasant night and enjoyed my stay. More hotels should be this way, especially because not all La Quinta hotels have the same quality standards (as a member I've stayed at several). read more

Corporate will not respond so I am going to make a post. Here. Its very clean and the staff was very good. But the elevator quit working and was told they had no one to fix it. Me 72 and disabled had to take the stairs to the fourth floor. Got to the room with great difficulty. Upon arrival discovered the tv not working and room not cleaned. Again told they had no one to fix. I can't believe they had no one on call and was told there was nothing they could do. So I sat in my room unable to use the stairs. Couldn't get food or anything. I got nothing from management not even a sorry. I will never use La Quinta again. My bill was over $800 for my stay. For that I kind of expected better service. You lost a long time customer and family and friends. read more

Though I've always hated staying at a La Quinta due to its always expensive pricing no matter what day of the week it is or when they promote some BS discount or savings; I had to suck it up and stay at one tonight bc everything else was booked. They've changed a lot since the last time I've been to one: rooms are wider, more modern looking, still little to no privacy when it comes to hearing your next door roomies or anything frm the hallway due to their always poor choice of thinness in their walls, toilet paper are always that rough "rip your skin off" texture feeling then some generic soft tissue, the uselessness of how high the ceiling is, could've definitely made it shorter to provide more rooms, and lastly their reception with watching anything on their TVs; either slow, lagging, or the voice don't match the picture. Can't complain to the registry bc what can they do about it?? Nothing! All in all, still wouldn't recommend this hotel!! The receptionist was kind and helping, but other than that no. read more

Older hotel convenient to highway. It's smells weird in the hotel even though it looked pretty clean. The walls are paper thin and overall the rooms are very loud. We were in the back of the place and still could hear the freeway traffic. Didn't get up in time to sample the breakfast which ends at 9...too early on weekends It's probably about average for a budget hotel read more

This room had such a bad mildew odor! No TV remote! No Kleenex! The bed was old, I could feel the springs!!!

So I'm a platinum member with LQ, and of course they were just bought out by Windem group.. so this gives me more options of hotels to stay at now with my membership...thus I think I will stay away from LQ in the future. I have stayed at too many that are just junk and this place is one of them. THEY DON'T HAVE AN ELEVATOR! The room was outdated. The A/C was a dirty window unit. The toilet seat only had one bolt in it. The tub was just gross. I booked a room with multiple beds via the app and when I got there they had no such room; of course this is not the staffs fault but they did nothing to remedy the issues and stated they could not reimburse my points I used for the room. I would keep driving. Too many other options in the area. read more

I have stayed at this location on probably 10 occasions now, and it is consistently a good experience. It is located near the intersection of Hwy 34 and IH20 East of Dallas - and across from the Tanger Outlet Mall. This one is clean, secure, the staff is friendly and the accommodations are priced reasonably. Amy is the owner, and has spent many years in the hospitality industry. She is pleasant, positive, and works hard to be very accomodating to your needs. The Continental breakfast is a good start to your day, and if that is not enough for you, then Starbucks or Waffle house are right next door. (They also accept AAA and AARP discounts...or so says my older brother...heehee). FYI - They are one national chan that allows your dog to stay without some crazy additional surcharge. I've had better stays when it comes to pet friendly hotels. The front desk person did apologize for the room being musty saying that it was a pet friendly room. However I didn't have this issue at the Wyndham in El Paso. Overall the room and bathroom could use some serious updating. Walls are thin, kept hearing doors slam. Bed was clean and comfortable, shower had hair left behind, baseboard material in the bathroom was peeling. Probably would only stay again if there wasn't any other option in the area. Also, the WiFi would only stayed connected for a few minutes at best before I had to use my phone as a hotspot. read more

Stayed one night while passing through Terrell. Jesus was working the front desk, Not the biblical one, but a very nice one regardless. Our room was on the second floor, no elevator but that wasn't a problem for us, we are still spry. Room was clean, and comfortable. They do allow pets, but on the first floor, at the end of the hall only, no extra charge unless you pets are naughty. There was a continental breakfast, small but good enough. read more

Bed Bugs!! Was in town for a kids softball tournament. Had a total of 13 rooms in 4 of the rooms we found bed bugs. Front desk clerk Ruth was incredibly rude and has no idea what customer service means. After asking to speak to the manger because she would do anything about the beg bugs besides offer a new room she called the cops on one of our parents. I have pictures and videos of the whole thing. Please do not stay here. You do not play around with things like bed bugs. Manager refused to talk to anyone because he was out of town. Told clerk to tell us to call Monday and he would resolve any problems. I called 4 times this morning and everytime goes to voicemail after ringing dozens of times. Staff has no idea what their doing and even when some of our parents found other hotels to go stay Ruth marked on their receipt "NO SHOW" which is now causing parents problems getting a refund. The business is the most shady, joke of a hotel I have even seen. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! read more

Stayed here for a total of 4 nights in a row. First thing that was irritating was the fact that there wasn't an elevator, we have a 1 year old so having to carry him up the stairs and keeping an extra close eye on him so he didn't get hurt and fall down the stairs was a bummer. But the worst part of all was our room. First let me just say, the front desk staff was very nice. But the room... GROSS!!! There was old blood everywhere! The sheets, the comforter, the walls, the curtains... literally looked like someone died in that room. The mattress had a big brown stain on one of the corners. I was too grossed out to check any other parts of the mattress. Second the room was so humid and musty. We tried to crack the door to get some of the moisture out but being that we have a 1 year old that likes stairs, we couldn't keep it open for very long. The sheets had tons of hair in them on the first night. I'm pretty sure they weren't clean, they didn't smell or look clean. The chair hair a big stain on it, the corner of the window was shattered, the window wouldn't shut all the way. Breakfast was ok, only hot food was waffles. Over at 9am, so we had to wake up early to eat. Room service left for the day before we woke up, so our room was not cleaned for the 4 days. I will never stay here again. I have never been to a hotel this dirty. I am super grossed out. Not to mention my son and I were bitten by bugs in the middle of the night, over a week later the bites are getting worse. I hope they weren't bed bug. read more

Second night of our trip and this LQ room is much improved over the one we had last night in Amarillo. This is the LQ we have come to know and expect. The room is quiet, well equipped, clean and well cared for. We would stay here again, easily. Lots of space to walk your dog, too! read more
