Early shift, sorry not my department, late shift? Kidding right? Last minute....it was always Matt. Matt is the exception to the rule for this property. There are times where he definitely is stressed and frazzled, but still gets his job done politely.. There may not be an ear ear smile, but you don't hear him whining, and complaining, Whenever possible and available, I will do an early digital check-in to avoid the front desk mob. I always digital check-in as it makes it easier for everyone, then once it's time to head back to the room and relax, I have a dear friend that my special-needs adult son refers to as Auntie Allie. So yes how have we been spoiled over the years with overwhelming competence, 5 star treatment but rather because I made a point to wear appropriate night clothing Or is this going to be the new normal? I notice the sign in the bathroom indicated that they clean every other day. Well the first day my husband used up all the towels. On Tuesday he called down for some more towels that afternoon. He was told housekeeping had left and went down to get towels. He went that same evening to get ice and found no buckets. He was given a plastic trash bag for ice . On our last night we had figure they would clean the room. We were gone most of the day. We returned to a room that had not been cleaned. I called front desk and informed the person my situation . My husband went downstairs and informed the manager who responded by making accommodations with the rate, however I booked 3 rd party, instead I am an honors member and welcome the points. I figure they were having staffing problems or someone was not aware of their job. I have stayed at tru before for one night. It is affordable rate, but this time the ball got dropped.

The hotel neighbor's the interstate which is great for convenience but did make for a couple of very noisy nights with traffic sounds, especially on the road side of the hotel. About 20 minutes from Charleston and about 35 from the beach which made it a great option to be close but more affordable than right in town.

I asked for an early check in the day before and it was granted the morning of my stay. WiFi signal was strong, rooms were clean, and bed was comfortable. I did have small issue of mayflies coming into my room after a spring storm, but the staff immediately responded and took care of it. Location is walkable to downtown Park Circle. One star off because I'm not sure how I feel about having no staff on site and safety, but overall I'd recommend and I think I'd stay again.
