The Hammersmith area of London isn't a great tourist destination by any means. I stayed here for a week for work that was a few stops away on the Tube. It's located about an hour or more from places like Piccadilly Circus and tourist spots like the Tower Bridge.
That being said, this Express was decent, considering it cost about $100 a night. There's a breakfast spread in the morning that isn't too bad, and there's always hot coffee.
There is a hotel bar attached to the front desk, but the prices are a little steep compared to the few bars in the area. I do believe it's open the latest though. I had a few pints nightly while here, and the bartender/front desk person was always friendly. It's not really a bar. It's just a a few bar taps and fridges of beer near the front desk.
They charge about 20 euro for internet each night, and it's fast enough to write yelp reviews, but here's a friendly tip; if you're only using the internet for email checking and other mundane things, do not buy their internet. If you sit in the far end of the lobby by the windows, you can pick up a wireless signal from the bar next door, and it's free. The bar next door isn't great, but I'm guessing you could sit in there too if you want. I preferred sitting in the hotel lobby instead.
I liked this place for the simple reason that it was a clean place to sleep. I'd definitely consider staying here in the future if I was visiting London. read more
