Total dishonesty by their maid service & manager - I left my personal men's watch in room 121 by mistake - called Tuesday afternoon when I noticed it gone - front desk put me on hold for 5 minutes before saying nothing found. Manager Tonya called me back Wednesday but the same attitude.. and the fact I LEFT a $5 tip for 1 night only / and they knew I was there for the AUTOTRAIN to FLA - they took advantage of my situation & lied to me. - no more stays there for sure. read more

I flew into Washington DC and we drove down to Lorton, which is about a 20 minute drive which is in Virginia. you get to pass the Pentagon and you also will see the Washington monument on that drive. Once we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by a gentleman, and he was extremely helpful and so kind he even offered us fresh baked cookies. I only wish I remembered his name....every day we would go out and come back. He would ask us how our day went and made sure we had everything we needed. This hotel is near the freeway, it's also across the street from a Burger King and a 7-Eleven. Across the parking lot is a cold, stone creamery, and a Mexican restaurant. This hotel also offers a breakfast which I wasn't too much of a fan of, but it is included in the price and the room I will say was very nice. Overall I had no complaints. If you're ever in the area and you need somewhere nice to lay your head give this place a try!! read more

Overall, it's a decent hotel to stay at. Service - I got in very early, and Christopher found me a room hours before I was due to check in - Thank you, Christopher! Christopher is the man! I needed a few pillows, towel and toothpaste and he was quick and so respectful. It's so hard to find great workers today, but he proves that wrong! He's a A++ employee, and I hope this Holiday Inn sees that! Let's talk rooms - The beds are decent and comfy! The towels are standard sized, not cheap! The room was nice and roomy! Food - The breakfast was OK. I don't normally eat at hotels, but it was decent, and the group enjoyed it. Coffee wasn't bad, and I'm spoiled, so that's a plus! Fantastic hotel! The rooms are updated and clean. The beds are very soft and comfortable! I felt like I was sleeping on a Marshmallow! The pillows were also excellent quality, large and soft! They use Dove soap in the bathrooms and the towels are nice and fluffy! The only thing we didn't like was the weak water pressure for the showers. I stayed 10 thru 13 Sept while on a shopping trip and office reunion in the area. The hotel we very convenient to the Potomac Mills area where I had planned shopping and the office, so bonus! Breakfast is included. There is a Burger King, Texas Donut shop (with kolache!), Chinese, and gyros restaurant across the street, so you won't starve. The building is a little older, but everything was clean and tidy. Reception is business-like but cheerful and smiley once you're checked in. For the rest of staff, I suspect English not being their primary language leads them to be a bit shy, but everyone was very nice. I didn't take advantage of any of the amenities. read more

We were just there for a quick stay on our drive to outer banks. The hotel was clean and what your would expect of a holiday inn. They do have an outdoor pool and the weather was not warm enough for us to use. Great breakfast selection. read more

This was a few miles from a business training I had and was the obvious (almost only) choice. Check in was a breeze and apparently they are tow happy, so we were told a few times about placing the parking pass in the car. The room was identical to the photos online. Not sure if I got the model room, but all the pictures were accurate. Great use of space, with full desk, bench, armoire , loveseat, mini fridge, and microwave. Had all bottled toiletries I'd need and had notecard by sink saying the front desk could provide any other toiletries you may have forgotten, like a toothbrush. Comfortable bed and dark curtains finished out my needs. Breakfast was continental but had everything I'd normally look for, pastries, juice, oatmeal, alternative milk, and fruit. There was also a waffle maker and several coffees. I didn't have much need to interact with staff, but when I did, they were quick and friendly. I'd recommend a stay here and, with the slim choices, I'm glad this one keeps things clean and friendly. read more

I am giving this Hotel 5 Stars it's always clean. The rooms are pretty well kept they keep the rif raf out and most importantly the front desk manager Sheila is by far the best customer service representative that I've come across. She has gone above and beyond to see to it that all my needs are filled. She has always been courteous and kind and with some sense of humor. She alone makes the stay well worth it. Each and everytime I check-in, I am hoping that I see her. Sometimes a simple smile with a hello goes a long way. If you get the pleasure of meeting her, you will know what I say is true. read more

Front desk employee was extremely unprofessional, rude, hostile, and a terrible representation of Holiday Inn Hotels. She was very condescending and disrespectful for no reason, when I was very kind to her and polite. She was extremely rude, and it felt discriminatory and targeted. She did not know the policies of the hotel, and did not understand that you can take a temporary license issued by the DMV. The TSA took my ID for my flight which was valid, and the way the employee handled it was very difficult and over the top. She made me stand there for an extra hour and was wasting everyone's time. The other manager came over and said my ID was completely valid, and that the employee was in the wrong. This employee never apologized for her wrongdoing, and honestly should be removed from working the front desk because she does not know how to speak in a polite and professional manner. I am a platinum IHG member and have stayed at this hotel for 5 years regularly. Every one of the staff knows me, and is nice so it's not okay to harass loyal customers. read more

Very small building from the outside, but nice check in desk. Doors lock at 6 pm, so there's an easily accessible bell and video system to get into the lobby. I used the key accessible stairwell most of the time. Check in was simple and efficient. You can tell it's a recent update, which suits the establishment. All doors are wireless touch entry with your key card. My room was spacious, nicely laid out. I discovered later that screen over the window was the only covering, no curtain, no blackout. I kept trying to shut out the sun and couldn't. After having come from work, I wanted to shower and discovered no hot water. I let it run, thinking maybe old pipes, but no avail. The sink had hot water. Weird. Tried to call the front desk and phone didn't work. Went downstairs and while I was happy with my room, I decided to switch rooms. There are cameras over the parking lot, so I wanted a view where my car wad accessible. I checked my new room. Oddly, minimal water pressure in the sink, but I wasnt going to complain. Then I turned on the TV and the remote didn't work. Smdh. I went back downstairs for a new remote bc the battery door is screwed into the remote. Front desk brought me one. Sigh. Breakfast was actually offered in the morning downstairs, all packaged, of course. Bagels, pastries, oatmeal, and coffee. read more

I was reallly disappointed that my room didn't have hot water when I showered. Called the front desk, she said well did you try turning it both ways?! It's a hotel and I know how to use a shower. I paid $150 for a room I would expect if nothing else to have hot water when I shower. I asked for a manager to call me she took my number down but I haven't heard anything. Room was clear and bed was comfortable. Parking was limited and there was a lot of hallway noise due to I guess construction. read more

Made a reservation. Didn't even stay here. Tried calling and the front desk left me on hold for 15 minutes and I had to call back. They didn't even apologize when I called back. They also wouldn't accommodate my wife checking in. I am military and when I mentioned that, I was lectured by the general manager that I should understand procedure. I will take my business elsewhere...from this point forward. Eventually these companies will wake up and remember that they need customers more than customers need them. If you don't want to serve customers, you should get out of the customer service business. read more

A lot has changed since my last visit a few years ago. A newer stark and contemporary interior was at first quite attractive until I realized it wasn't functional and somewhat a facade. The elevator floor tiles were cracked and not maintained properly. There's no drinking cups or ice buckets in the room . I had to go to the front desk. The worst experience was running out of coffee in the morning. Everyone waiting on it brewing. They didn't have a working spare decanter and everyone was frustrated with the delay. The food quality was also poor( turkey bacon, fake eggs and other things I couldn't even identify) . Also the functionality of the buffet covers made no sense. Once the single canter of coffee was delivered it disappeared. As exited I noticed that there were now 2 decanters and of course the one I chose was again empty. Numerous staff looking on as the breakfast worsened. There seemed to be no plan on meeting or exceeding customer expectations. It was very obvious to everyone waiting for coffee However the facilities are mostly clean and functional with the exception of the entry door to my room. It stuck often and was too heavy. I also felt rushed to vacate my room with random knocking on my door as I showered and packed my clothes. A good location and a okay value for my money read more

We stayed one night in this hotel before taking train. It was spotlessly clean with extremely pleasant staff. Antonio on front desk is a huge asset to this property with his positive friendly manor keeping the wait line moving. Would definately stay there again. read more

I've stayed there before, going downhill fast. Stayed there in August. Elevator 1 was blocked off, out of order. Elevator 2 didn't work. They had signs up to bear with them. Dragged our suitcases up the stairs to second floor. Terrible odor in room, smelled like mildew. Fan was on No A/C , turned on A/C trying to see if that would clear the odor. No, bad headache coming on from the odor, went to front desk and complained, they didn't bat a eyelash, seems like they're aware, switched rooms, odor better on first floor, but still there. Dragged suitcases down stairs to level 1. Noticed perfume smell in lobby, they're using that to cover mildew odor. Room is dimly lit to save energy, and water comes out of faucets slowly I guess to save water. At breakfast they ran out of fake eggs. It's a shame because very convenient for the auto train in Lorton. read more

Room was a little noisy but not terrible. It took 17 minutes to check in at around 9 pm on a Friday. One person working answered the phone three times interrupting check ins of three guest ahead of me. Asked for the usual complimentary water. They said they will sell me the water. No KCups for coffee in the room. I caught the maid and she said manager does not leave coffee in the room you must ask the front desk !!! I did and all they had was decaf. This hotel is just okay. They are remodeling so you have to be somewhat patient with the elevators, odd smells, and other things. The pool are is horrible to look at but they said it'll be done next year. The cleaning staff is rather inattentive and not very good at making the room look like other Holiday Inn rooms. The elevator #1 was not working 3 of 5 days but nobody was working on it. The front desk staff is very good through--friendly and nice. read more

Holiday Inn Express has completely transformed this hotel! It used to be a Comfort Inn, and it was downright nasty. I live close by and have been curious whether or not the new hotel was a simple makeover or a full remodel. It's definitely a full remodel with very nice and modern amenities. *Disclaimer* - I didn't actually stay the night. I simply stopped to see the hotel and asked if I could see a room. I was skeptical that the lobby would be very nice, but the rooms could still be older and only partially redone. Well, the manager took 10 minutes to show me two separate rooms and answer my questions. The rooms were just as nice as the lobby, to include the bathrooms which were also new. I was surprised (and thankful) that the management was as friendly and accommodating as it was. Bottom line is that I will definitely recommend this hotel to my family in the future when they visit. If you are looking for a place to stay in Lorton, I would recommend giving this hotel a try. read more

Stay here 40-50 days a year and never had issues until the last 2 times. Check in process changes every time and Crystal was extremely rude. 3 feet behind someone checking in and she keeps telling me to back up so I can't see their room number, but the room number is on the parking sheet you're required to sign. Being courteous shouldn't be hard and I'm going to ensure IHG knows of the issues. read more

It was clean and quiet but the breakfast was the worst. I've stayed at a different Holiday Inn recently and this breakfast was nothing like that one. I'm not a snob, but they only had real sugar and no almond or soy milk. What do people do that can't lactose issues? It was just gross. I'm I'm happy we only stayed for one night. I travel a lot for work. I typically arrive late and then head to what ever work office I am pushing to very early. I asked if they could bring me 2 k cups and they told me I could get coffee downstairs, I waited at the front desk for 20 minutes while the young kid spoke on the phone and did not acknowledge me Stank g there. I finally walked off. I could not connect to the Internet (a large degree of my work) the whole time I was here. I would call the front desk over and over and all it did was ring. The breakfast bar is the worst one I have ever been to. I have a feeling this is not a true standardized Holiday Inn Express and is owned by a chain. read more

It's not a five star hotel, but it's clean and comfortable at a very reasonable price. The staff were nice and helpful. There are some fast food restaurants and a Mexican restaurant within close walking distance. I plan to stay again when I'm next in the area. read more

The room was clean and ready for check in. A prior time I stayed here, the lure was no hot water between certain night time hours. I checked in late the last time and couldn't get a hot shower before bed. When I woke up I did get one but that was due to waking up after the others I checked in with took a cold shower and after the water was turned back on. This time around my bath faucet had a trickle coming out of the faucet. This time I planned to get a hot shower in the morning and was surprised at no hot water at all at 8 am with the water running for a solid 5 minutes. This time I realized they hooked up the hot and cold lines backwards to the shower. Hot was cold and cold was hot. Staying during the week wasn't bad for breakfast. I enjoyed an almond milk and others in my party enjoyed a Cinnabon muffin for breakfast. During the weekend the non dairy milk goes away and the Cinnabon doesn't make an appearance. I asked for a non dairy milk as I can't drink real milk. They didn't know what I was talking about and didn't provide me something I could drink or add to cereal. If this wasn't the only place in town I wouldn't bother staying here. read more

Syare, the front desk manager, was an absolute delight to deal with. She was friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and and all around gem of an employee. All staff was friendly polite and courteous.The room was absolutely beautiful everything is modern, updated, and the huge wall TV was a plus. My only negative for this whole experience was that I was in a adjoining room with a door between. Unfortunately the people in the room next to me were most inconsiderate and made an unacceptable amount of noise before 6:00 a.m.. I told Syare about this and she was most apologetic and assured me that they had checked out and I would not have an issue my second night. I did not, it was delightful and quite peaceful. I would highly recommend staying there. If my travels take me through Lorton Virginia again, I will most certainly stay there. read more

Don't stay here! I checked in to a ''beeping'' smoke detector. Instead of providing batteries, they told me to DISCONNECT it! They DO IT ALL THE TIME!! I could not sleep, I felt very unsafe. I have tried numerous times to get Corporate to resolve. Safety at one of their properties should be their NUMBER 1 concern! BUT IT IS NOT! Update: spoke to the Regional Mgr. He really cares about this issue and about safety. I truly believe this will Never happen again! read more

Stayed here one night for business; would recommend. Front desk staff was nice, I arrived late and did not have to worry about them getting rid of my reservation. Comfortable bed, clean sheets and bathroom towels, shower with good water pressure. Stopped in quickly to the free breakfast when it was about to end and had pretty much the usual for HIE. Was worried about hearing traffic from 95 due to it being so close and my room backed up to it; I did not hear one thing. Very comfortable spot to stay in. read more

I stayed in a lot of hotels while traveling recently and this was by far the best. It was exceptionally clean. The staff were so friendly and helpful, especially Peter. The room was spacious and well designed. The beds were so comfortable. The breakfast was great. In these times of Covid, I understand you have to get creative and they did just that. Hot food consisted of omelettes, turkey sausage and cinnamon buns that were pre-made and served by the friendliest staff. On the side were bagels and bread with the option to be toasted. Cold cereal. Oatmeal. Fruit. Yogurt. Of course coffee, tea and even hot chocolate. It was impressive and very satisfying. The location was very close to everything. I was actually just passing through, but stayed an extra night because it was so pleasant. We got some shopping in and ate at a great restaurant-Guapos. We will definitely stay here again when we are in the area. read more
