They spent A LOT of money to have their wedding there and were disrespectful all night and made everyone feel uncomfortable. The bartender refused to prioritize the bridal party for drinks, halting them from being able to take photos in a timely manner. They asked for a ton of money to only have one bartender on staff for a very large group of people, so there was a significant line for drinks all night. The security guard was creepily checking out the women all night while at the same time being incredibly rude and unprofessional. We had actual police officers in attendance as guests, and even they couldn't believe how Paul Blart was acting. He was overheard asking the bartender "when is this thing over, I don't get why these things last this long." When the bridal party went to do a check to collect the rest of their belongings before leaving for the night, he stated a bunch of them were "fooling around" in the basement. Someone who clearly has never been invited to a party or a wedding in their life should not be tasked with this. Not to mention he gets paid $300 to be there. Even pacing up on the stage staring everyone down while we ate dinner. You would think he would be more concerned with waiting by the entrance to ensure there weren't people going to be drinking and driving (his job) instead of ogling the women and treating/questioning all the guests, pulling them out from the dance floor to interrogate them like a wanna be cop. Pay 7k to this place if you want to be treated poorly and your guests to be treated poorly on the most important day of your life.

I can only imagine the perfect photographs being taken in this room for someone's special day! When we visited the venue was decorated for an upcoming wedding this weekend. Great "tree museum" if that's what you want to call it but it was very educational and well worth the time and money. Visited on a Friday morning with our homeschool community and it was a busy morning. Reserved a guided tour months prior for our large group and paid extra for the tree house playground experience. The guided tour was absolutely fascinating and our group learned so much about how to identify different types of trees and plants. The gardens are awesome even in the fall. Worth a second or third trip for the different seasons we have here in Iowa. The playground was MASSIVE and newly built. All wooded and just a walk away from the arboretum. Open year-round to the public, this sanctuary has facilities for meetings, parties, weddings, etc. A number of trails allow you to walk through the different gardens and enjoy and ever changing display throughout the year. We were so pleasantly surprised at this little slice of paradise so far off the beaten path. Established in the early 1980s by an Iowa family that owned a nursery in the region. Bird watchers, gardeners, and anyone that just enjoys beautiful flowers should check out the Iowa Arboretum.

We were excited as it was 5pm and they were open until 10 (typically on Saturday wineries are only open until 6). So, we went in, hoping to do a wine tasting and share a bottle on the patio. We were told we couldn't do a tasting since there was a wedding going on. Okay. So we tried 2-3 samples so we could order a glass we liked. The very few we tried were ok. We were at least able to pick one. Then we went to the patio. Photos of the view are attached. Beautiful view of an alley and someone's house and some cars. The best part is over our speaker we heard this couples entire wedding ceremony. We could see it through the patio doors too. Talk about uncomfortable. I'm thinking the winery should close to the public when they have a wedding ceremony going on - since we couldn't get the same service and had to listen to someone's wedding. What a strange experience. Good thing we never come through Sully, Iowa! Seemed like it could've been a cute place...if it closed for weddings.
