Holiday Inn Express is our go-to hotel when traveling. We found ourselves stuck in Rawlins unexpectedly when the interstate closed for wind and ice and were so happy to find a Holiday Inn Express. It was easy to locate and access. Price was fair. The lady working at the front desk was friendly and answered all of my questions. The lobby was quiet and clean. Our room was also clean and very comfortable. The shower was interesting - great water pressure, however some of the nozzles were definitely misaligned because the water was spraying off to the sides. The bed was just okay, but we got a good night's sleep. Overall, would stay again if needed. read more

Was on a cross-country road-trip. Researched and found this hotel the night before. I was only staying 1 night so I was looking for: proximity to 80, nearby gas stations and quick bites. And definitely a clean room. Honestly it might have had a slight funky musk? What are you gonna do. The bathrooms were clean, though. But the 5 stars is for the breakfast spread. The lady running the kitchen took a lot of pride in her work and you could tell. Super friendly and easy to talk to as well. But having eaten breakfasts at a few other hotels, this one stood out to me in terms of quality, taste, freshness, and overall spread & items. My husband and I stayed for 3 nights and had a great time! Front desk staff (Aurora, Destiny, and one other gal), went above and beyond. Super friendly and professional. Check in was easy and fast. We got the king suite with the in room jacuzzi and we couldn't stay out of it! Fantastic value. Completely dog friendly, yet very quiet. Free hit breakfast every morning. $274 for 1 night! What a joke as the other 10 hotels along the road went between $80-120 a night. I called to verify and I was told that it was the correct price. Its ok place to stay. Rooms were clean and location is convenient. Stayed with kids who were so looking forward for the pool. I almost booked a place at Baymont here and paid extra for the pool which was closed by 8pm. We were told that it will be open at 7 and then it was not open stating that there is chemical imbalance. I understand the policies still when you are in hospitality more is expected. It was snowing outside and i didn't want to unload every bag and found the comb was hard to find. I asked for the desk for a comb from the front desk in late evening and was told 'we don't have any'. I guess the sign in the bathroom need to be taken out suggesting that front desk can help if you are missing an accessory toiletry. Its hard to describe why and what still attitude would be described as average at best as perceived by me. read more

Absolutely amazing customer service and accommodations. My husband and I stayed here almost 2 weeks for his work and we were very impressed at the staff. Every member from front desk to house keeping to the manager was attentive, kind and informative. The women staff were wonderful to me and my son and constantly checked up on us. The indoor pool was perfect, as well as the hot tub. The morning breakfast was great and hot and fresh. I was able to do our laundry in the laundry facility and it was overall very easy to adjust to hotel life. There was even a Walmart in the next parking lot. Overall awesome experience and amazing staff members! We would definitely stay here again. read more

Spent over 20 nights here this last summer while on assignment for work. I kind of dreaded staying at a hotel for so long, but wow, what a great experience. Quality rooms, quality staff, excellent breakfast in the morning. Oh, you and early riser? Like 5:30 a.m? Breakfast is posted as being open at 6 a.m. I think, but its always ready well well before the posted time. Alot of rough oil field workers, railroaders, and search and rescuers here, and all up very very early for work, and always had a hot meal. I seriously cannot say more about this place. If I could ive a 6 star rating, it would be one of two or three of my 40+ reviews. Yep, that good. From my stay here this summer, Holiday Inn earned my business for years. Now whenever I'm travelling, I first look to see if my destination has a Holiday Inn Express. Free wifi, popcorn boxes every now and then, cookies on plates, daily USA Today papers (LOVED this), you name it, they treat you right. read more

I found this hotel to be very nice for the location. For a low number of Priority Club points, I was booked in a jacuzzi suite and given a box of popcorn at check-in. The room itself was very nice, with a jacuzzi in a separate room with a closet, a small kitchenette with a sink and a fridge (maybe a microwave, I can't remember) The continental breakfast had hot selections in addition to the usual cereal and bagels, which was nice. If I were passing through the area again, I would definitely stay here. It seemed to be one exit from the "main" part of town as I asked the front desk for a close recommendation for dinner and she recommended Burger King. I went to a nearby diner - the only option at this exit that was not fast food. Next time, I would probably just order a pizza. read more

Tried to walk in to reserve a room here tonight and actually love staying at holiday inns but this one was really rude! I asked if they had any available rooms and where was the restroom and the lady at the counter was really rude and said you can't use the restroom until after you book. I asked was she serious and she said restrooms are available after booking. So we took our business to the Hampton Inn. read more

Best hotel I've stayed at in a long time. Everything was clean and the people are great. Our heat gave out about 10 miles from town and they were so accommodating and nice when everyone was stressed from the breakdown. They even had us park close to a door so they could bring a space heater and cord out to the truck in the morning so we could defrost to make it to a shop when they opened. The breakfast was fantastic and they were SO good to our kids. They even let us stay past checkout until our truck was ready to go so we could hit the road again. They were such a blessing after a horrible day of a drive. GREAT customer service!!!!! read more

I stayed here for almost a month while I was on assignment in WY. This place was really clean, nice and had a lot of food joints nearby. Freeway access is so easy and the staff was so cool. The only downfall was powdered eggs at the breakfast buffet. read more

I originally picked this hotel to stop at because it made sense for the journey (in terms of time and distance traveled). As it turns out, the choice could not have been better. We were able to get a jacuzzi room for the same price as a regular room at other Holiday Inn Expresses. The rest of the hotel is beautiful, and features both a workout room and an indoor pool. It is also located just across from several fast food places that are open late (Lord know we need that when we got in at our late hour!). Speaking of food, the free breakfast was also great. Everything tasted great (the eggs, coffee, sausage, cinnamon rolls); my sweetheart really enjoyed the automatic pancake maker. We were able to eat in front of a lit fireplace. We don't know when we will be back that way, but we do plan to stay there again. read more

Bed was comfy, breakfast was fine, staff was nice- but I can't because they are not able to follow simple instructions on which debit card to charge, so they charged both! What can I say? I'm a tough grader. My 3 star rating is based on this holiday inn express vs. others I've stayed in (which is a lot). nice lady greeted us at the desk we got the maximum discount ... I think because my dad is a charming older man beds are comfy and clean the desk clerk gave us a printout of local eateries and marked her suggestions breakfast is served 6-10 which you are told upon check-in and is posted easy freeway access large bathroom with efficient shower and substantial counter space something I like about holiday inn is all the pillows. I only need one but each bed has four pillows of different softness. I like choosing my pillow for maximum comfort. fridge and microwave plenty of outlets for plugging in gadgets and phones Now many if not most Holiday Inn Expresses have most of these features so here's why only 3 stars... we were in a room on the front side of the hotel and on the first floor. NOISE. You can hear everything in rooms around you and if you have someone above you forget about it. We could even hear people outside and the traffic from the freeway. parking. Come on, there can't be too many business travelers stopping in for the night. After we returned from our dining experience there was no parking for a truck and trailer. We had to park along the dirt lot across the street. I think the "teenager" mentioned in other reviews was our desk clerks wing-woman that night. She had some off the wall comments and wasn't rude but needs to make some friends her own age. breakfast was available but poorly attended. The breakfast at this chain are pretty standard and self serve but good attendants get tips.... Eggs had been sitting out awhile, bacon and sausage were cold, and they must be conserving coffee cuz it was so watered down it was merely coffee flavored water. The pancake maker was shoved off in a corner on a small table. Not a big deal but not that cozy feel you get from other Holiday Inn Express establishments. Tips: 1. If they don't offer the restaurant list ask for it. 2. Get a top level room 3. Get a room to the backside of the property (although there is a wal-mart being built there so I'm not sure how quiet it will be) 4. Don't EVER. EVER. Do push-ups on a hotel floor ;) ...seriously tho 3 stars isn't terrible it's a great place for one or even two nights but they could do a few little things to improve the standard of service and ease of use. read more

We were driving through Wyoming in late January and encountered a major ice storm with 75 mph winds and seriously did not think we would make it to the next city alive... We had a Uhaul carrying everything we own and also had our five month old puppy with us. We finally reached Rawlins and decided to pull over and stay at the first hotel we saw. Luckily it happened to be the Holiday Inn Express - it was past 10pm and we were warmly welcomed and even granted the AAA discount even though we left the card in the Uhaul. Our puppy was allowed for a minimal additional fee (I think it was like 10 bucks) and the room was great - exactly what we needed after a terrible few hours of driving. There wasn't much to eat nearby (we ate at Burger King across the street) but in the morning there was the best FREE continental breakfast.. even had delicious cinnamin buns! Average is the best way to describe this hotel. It's a convenient location. The decor in the rooms looked fairly dated. The egg white omelettes were cold. The bed was adequately comfortable. The room was generally clean except for the pillows - they smelled like dried sweat and need replacing (glad I brought my own). I'm very disappointed that this chain doesn't offer appreciable senior discounts like other chains in the same tier. This place is undoubtedly overpriced for what you get. read more
