Rooms are out dated. Carpet is worn out and frayed. Restaurant closed, but did not update on site. Charged for amenities but could not deliver. Front desk were not helpful. I paid for what it said on website, but did not receive. I booked this room on what they said was available. I believe I should receive at least a 50% refund. It is not worth being a rewards member if this is the bait and switch they deliver. read more

We Had been driving for 16 hours when we saw the Best Western Cotton tree. We reserved room 226. It was awful. Hair in the shower, pubic hair on toilet, dirty couch and carpet. A used coffee pod in the coffee maker. We were TOO tired from Driving to call management. Wont stay again! read more

Their attitude toward pets was fantastic. The room was a normal king, but we were told our dog was accepted into the breakfast room (as long as we sat away from the food, and had her on a leash and she was disciplined). That allowed us to keep her with us versus kenneling her in the room during breakfast. The front desk was extremely helpful in recommending places to go to eat dinner (there aren't many), but also suggested the in-hotel restaurant which is where we decided to go - and it was excellent as well (our dog couldn't go there, though...). read more

I hate giving negative reviews but I feel like I have to in order to get a response. Recently we were helping my sister move across country and we stayed at the Best Western Cotton Tree Inn. The reviews were decent and the parking lot was packed when we arrived (always a positive sign). The entryway to the hotel was lovely and the evening clerk was pleasant enough. I had arranged for their last double queen room for the night while we were driving. All we wanted was a comfortable bed and a clean, quiet room to lay our heads. Unfortunately the tub wouldn't drain which was super gross, the room was dirty, including our finding a previous customer's food in the fridge. I let the front desk staff know because I consider these things training issues. The response I got was a short sorry and no one called for details. I got surveys, made comments and asked for a call, but got nothing other than a "we sent you a survey, did you complete it?" email even after I had taken the time to respond in detail. I would not stay at another Best Western because the issues seem to be systemic and not just at the Cotton Tree location. read more

Made reservations with Expedia for a room with a king sided bed. We got to the hotel, checked in and were sent to the far end of the building. Hotel Is almost empty. We were put in a pet friendly room but we're allergic to pet hair. So we went to front desk and the woman said there is nothing they can do, allergic or not. No more best western hotels for us and no more Expedia. We called customer service and that lady said there was nothing she could do either. I wish there was a negative star. read more

Great experience. Staff was very friendly and engaging. Room was clean and reasonably spacious. 24/7 pool and hot tub! The complimentary breakfast buffet was available from 6-9am which isn't the greatest hours, but I appreciate they offered it at all. Food was your standard fare, plus fresh pancakes. We loved having an exterior door into the lot rather than a room with a window going into the hallway. Will definitely start there again if we overnight in Rawlins again. read more

Gross! So dirty and old. The pictures deceive. This place has not been updated for at least 20 years. The bedding was torn and stained. The towels were old and yellowish. The toilet was made for a toddler. The shower leaked and had a dirty yellow stained slip pad in it. The shower curtain was absolutely disgusting. The carpet was old and stained. We had a great experience here. The front desk attendant was very kind and even adjusted our stay so our room was close to our vehicle. We had a large horse trailer and had to park towards the end of the building. The room had both an interior and exterior door which was convenient when unloading and loading our belongings. The room was overall very clean and the bed was comfortable. The rates are reasonable for what you get. This place isn't anything "fancy" no 5 star resort, but definitely a good place to stay the night that won't break the bank. Plenty of parking and a full breakfast buffet is provided. I'd recommend a stay and will definitely here again if I'm in the area. read more

Currently no on site restaurant. Room was spacious and very clean. Front desk staff was not very personable. Since their restaurant was closed, I was offered a list of other restaurants in the area. I thought that was nice, but when I got to my room you couldn't make out the names of the restaurants. The phone number and address were legible but not the name of the restaurant. read more

Looks old from the outside but rooms nice on the inside. Reason I'm giving it a 2 star is that the breakfast is boring. Not enough options like other hotels I've been to. I mean as far as hotels and motels go in Rawlins, this place is solid. I happened to be passing through the area and needed to get off the road. The hotel looks recently renovated and price was reasonable. Staff were very nice, the room I was assigned quite large and the free continental breakfast was more borderline full breakfast. I highly recommend this hotel if you are in the Rawlins area. Granted you should also try and make a reservation vs wing it and try and get lucky as a hotel as nice as this is bound to fill up. Oh and the location is just a block or two off the highway before you get deep into town. read more

Expensive, but available for a drive up request. We were supposed to drive another 300 miles, but hit a virtual wall and stopped early for the day before the thunderstorm caught up to us. The room was rather stuffy, but the bed was super comfortable. All rooms in the pet friendly wing have floor to ceiling windows next to the door... there was a roll away cot that we ended up using to block the curious kids from stopping and pointing and the dogs. The room was large enough for all 3 crates and quiet enough to keep everyone sleeping through the night. Breakfast started too late for us to partake. read more

Not impressed at all. Room stinks, smells like a dog kennel and needs to be desperately cleaned. Also found urine spray on the tiles near where the door corner is abs sink corner is. They vacuumed the carpet but sis not mop the floor. If they find damage or urine from any pet then fine the owners. Don't charge me a pet fee and then stick me in a nasty stinky room. Fridge does not work, I found 4 dog poop bag stands but not a bag anywhere, or bags in the trash can. Stayed at best western plus in Winnimucca last night, lovely hotel, sparkling clean rooms, dog friendly and cheaper. I'm heading back in a week and already cancelled my reservations going home. read more

I have no complaints. Rooms are large, clean, and quiet. The breakfast at this place is amazing like it shouldn't even be in this town. The area where breakfast is served is fancy. Great price for a great stay! This Best Western was right off the interstate and might have been the cleanest place one I have ever stayed at. They accommodate for pets and have a small area for them. The staff was super nice especially the gentleman that ran the breakfast buffet. His positive attitude and helpfulness really made the stay! This is a clean, comfortable hotel with friendly service. The pool and hot tub were well maintained and pleasant. The free breakfast included a number of options, including a waffle maker with toppings. There was also an exceedingly friendly man assisting breakfast eaters. One of my travel companions found him intrusive, but I thought he was endearing. The main problem with this place is that it is in Rawlins, Wyoming. I'm not familiar with the history of this town, but it has a borderline ghost town feeling, with boarded up store fronts and check cashing places. There weren't any fresh food options I could see, other than a single grocery store all the way across town. The hotel does have a restaurant/bar in it of the deep fried and sandwich variety, though we didn't try it. Maybe stop in a different town off the 80 if possible? read more

Traveling with 4kids (2under2) and 2 boxer dogs is a headache but this place was just as comfortable as it was affordable! Outside door access made it easy to bring things in as well as let the pups out. The room was clean and the bed were super comfy; everyone slept great!! The breakfast was delicious (a little bit of everything!!) and Dan the breakfast assistant was friendly and super helpful with the children (he kindly helped them serve themselves) The other amenities were very inviting (24hr pool, workout room and lounge) but sadly we didn't have time to check them out. I have been staying here for years and generally stop here a few times a year whilst traveling across the country. I would have at one time given this 5 stars, but can sadly only give it two after the dreadful experience of our last stay here. Besides the large clean and comfortable rooms, my main reason for staying here (not that there's a lot of choice in Rawlins...) was due to the fantastic breakfast that I used to have delivered via room service. I once would tell everyone traveling along I-80 to stop here, but alas, the restaurant has changed hands and is quite dreadful..... They used to have the best scones this side of the Atlantic and excellent biscuits and gravy. Everything was fresh and homemade and wonderful. And now they have a really crappy restaurant -- Square Shooters -- in their building (see my review for that.....) Generally when I would check-in there would be a gracious clerk who would always give me a discount -- this time there was a creepy unaccommodating guy.... There also seems to be a lot of creepy, strange and annoying guests.... so much so that I didn't want to walk my dog outside without my husband along..... I don't know what's up with Best Westerns these days, but they are filled with Motel 6 type people and we can get rooms at MUCH better hotels than a BW for a similar price.... It kind of upsets me that although I have been frequenting this hotel since 2004 that I will never stay here again and will instead look for a new hotel in Rawlins..... read more

I'm a Motel 6 regular and on my trip from Louisiana to Portland OR. I. didn't want to be worried about my car and my safety and I also had a bit of extra $$. The new logo is easy to spot in an unfamiliar area. The room is clean, fresh, spacious, and welcoming. The king bed is super comfy with a heavy down comforter. I guess for the winter guests. The AC works great on high but not in low. More than enough fluffy pillows to cuddle up. No flat ones like the other place. The room has a microwave, small fridge, nice little sofa, desk and two bathroom sinks. It's more then I wanted to spend but the cliche is true. You get what you pay for. Will stay again if I ever find myself in this part of the country again. read more

Decent. They were very nice. Breakfast was okay. I had some difficulty with the waffle machine but ended up with a good waffle.

Friendly staff, good WiFi and cable, breakfast was better than the average Best Western. We ate dinner in the motel's bar/restaurant and found the food good, but thought the prices were higher than they should have been for the quality and quantity. I was definitely SURPRISED to see the "$$" rating for this motel, because it was at least double in comparison to the other three Best Westerns we stayed at during our trip from the Midwest to the West Coast. I'd recommend doing price comparisons with other motels in town or finding a different Best Western. read more

While road tripping across WY, my wife and I spontaneously stayed here when some nasty winter weather closed I-80 for a while. We had also booked a stay at a Best Western in Laramie (not knowing where we'd be sleeping), and we learned what "independently owned and operated" means when we compared prices for identical rooms: $81 in Laramie, $99 in Rawlins. But by politely asking the desk manager for a discount upon check-in, we were only charged $89 (+ tax). That was nice. Now I know there are cheaper hotels and motels in town than this, but once we considered the entire experience we felt this was by FAR a better value than any of those. Our room was very large (single king bed plus a couch and other furniture), everything was bright and clean, and many extras were included--heated indoor pool, hot tub, an extensive breakfast bar (scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, cereal, etc), free wi-fi and more. No, this wasn't the Ritz Carlton. Still, for less than a Ben Franklin on a same-day reservation in a winter storm which more-or-less forced us to be there, this was clearly a very nice place to stay and a great value. read more

We stayed here after a long days of driving. Got our rate from Priceline.com and it was $50 per night cheaper than the newer hotels a few miles up the road. (The hotel is located in an older, almost abandoned part of Rawlins.) Lobby and room were clean but worn and dated. While the full service free breakfast was fine (limited menu) it is still better than some hotels' deluxe continental breakfasts. Service was great at the front desk, but our server had a bit of an attitude. Bottom line: I'd recommend for a night or two, but if you're in need of a longer stay you might be happier up the street. read more

Best Western motels are all over the place. They are each independently owned. This one, the Cottontree Inn, is very comfortable but rather pricey for its location. We had a large room with two Queen size beds, bathroom with his and her sinks, TV, Refrigerator, microwave and good wireless internet. They have a heated pool and serve a hot breakfast. Comfortable place to stop. Hot breakfast: chafing dishes with bacon, country fried potatoes, scrambled egss both with and without cheese, waffle iron and batter to use in it, usual muffins, fresh fruits, coffee, both apple and orange juice. read more
