we were traveling down I 80 and came upon a highway sign that said campers weighing less than 20,000 pounds do not proceed. There are several campgrounds in this area and we chose Western Hills Campground. We got online and chose a spot paid a deposit and proceeded on down the road to the campground. It was 1 o'clock. The office was closed from 11 to 2 and they said on their site, no early check-in. The campground is only 1/3 of the way full and we chose to proceed to the site and then go up to the office at 2 pmThe office said we are charged five dollars because we are checked in early. we were at the office at 2:05 and still no one was there. Finally someone came to open up. They nickel and dime you to death here, you also get charged if you decide not to use a full hook up site, to use their dump station, so beware not too friendly. Honestly I would have gone to one of the other campgrounds. This campground also was the more expensive one. please post on your website all the extra fees that you are putting on. We were gone by 6 o'clock in the morning so I don't think we added anything to your electric or your water bill. All doors were locked. We try them all. read more

Pulled into Western Hills Campgrounds today and was pleasantly surprised. End of the season and so only two other RV's here. The Restroom/ Showers are amazingly perfect. Clean, well setup and lots of hot water. KOA is just down the street, but for my money I'll be staying at Western Hills again. read more

This was the second time staying at this campground in two weeks. The first time we had a good experience. The bathrooms are immaculate, there is a fresh bath mat for each shower. Free girl products, lotion and spray. Very impressive. That being said, the campground is in an extremely windy location, the spots are quite close to one other with very little privacy, it's close to the freeway so you can hear the traffic all night & the train blows through a few times a night, honking their horns (we love a train so that was no biggie to us). We were told where the dump station was and at no time were we told it was $3. If we had been told, we would have paid it. Instead, an employee came down and politely asked us to pay since we were dumping. Not a great feeling, like we were cheating somehow & he said "this happens quite often". Well perhaps because you don't tell the customers it's an extra $3. Please see attached review with the exact same complaint. Since we hadn't paid for the dump on our prior visit I gave him $6 for two dumps. We won't be back. Polite or not, it's not ok to do that to people for a subpar experience. read more

It is basically a big gravel lot, but lots of space, easy to find and had everything we needed. A nice playground, and laundry right next to it. The only complaint is the mini golf $4 per person per game..I don't know the typical price, but eh not for me. Quick overnight stop for us. Pros: very clean bathrooms and spacious showers; dedicated laundry building; putt putt golf; friendly staff; nice little shop with essentials; well organized park. Cons: All gravel lot segregated by hookups; small spaces with no privacy, several trains whistles woke me in the night. read more

This place was well kept. Sites had plenty of room for my 38 ft motor home and trailer. Office staff were pleasant and accommodating. Dog park was clean and a good size. Restaurant was within walking distance. Thank you to the two ladies that helped me both times I stayed!! read more

Fantastic place! We've been traveling for a couple of weeks and this place was by far one of the best! Clearly not a destination spot but, great for a pit stop. Extremely clean...bathrooms and showers were CLEAN! Laundry same! You can tell a place is clean when the candy machine has no dust and slime all over it! You can tell it's well cared for. Plants are watered and it is country decorated throughout. Site was flat and easy to pull in and out. The miniature golf course was great for my nine year old! The rustic playground was fun enough as well! Melissa in the office was friendly and helpful. Oh, and the WIFI WORKED! I was able to get some work done. So many places say they have wi-fi but, really they don't and should get boosters to help with the traffic. Stay here if in the area for sure! And, it was like $36 bucks???? We stayed here one night on the way through. The sites are gravel pull throughs and level - a plus. It was very quiet and well maintained. The people at the desk were friendly and helpful. The bathrooms were very clean! They have cable, but we didn't need it. The only downside was the internet did not work at all for us. The price was reasonable. We would highly recommend this place for a stopover. They were able to give us a site without a reservation. Thanks! read more

Great access from freeway, easy to find campground Very friendly staff that welcomed us upon arrival. Fairly well stocked convenience store on site. Many amenities for family fun as well as for the family dog. Clean showers and restrooms. Most sites are pull through which is very convenient especially since we have a longer RV. We could hear noise from the Motel next door but overall it was a good stay. read more

Entire park is nothing but gravel. No grass or green of any kind. No trees, no shade. Looks more like a storage area than RV park. Trailers have little room between each other. No wi-fi, lets me log on but could never open any web site. I ended up using my mobile hotspot. Park has cable tv but the owner wants to charge a $3 fee for cable. This is one of the best campgrounds we have ever stayed in. The location is perfect, with easy access to the highway but minimal road noise. The facilities are hands down the cleanest I have ever seen. The showers and bathrooms are immaculate and the laundry area is perfect. My kids enjoyed the playground and mini golf. If you are lucky enough to get there in time there are even farm fresh eggs delivered daily. I would highly recommend this location. read more

I called in to make a reservation over an hour ahead of arrival and Ms. Sandra told me that she would reserve me a spot no problem. When I arrived, I saw that the campground was very spacious and clean. Checking out the restrooms and they're clean, with 5 showers, all serrated and private. Showers were clean and lot of nice touches, laundry area was outstanding.... it is basically a big gravel lot, but given how dry it is in this area, it should be expected... We're a line family traveling in a 5th wheel we stayed here from August to December in the trailer park area just above the campground it was great prefer the trailer park area over the campground you just have a little more space. Friendly staff and very clean. Laundry mat was always clean and well taken care of it's a little expensive so I went to the laundry mat just down the road that was half the price. The campground closes from October 31-about February so no packages sent to the office during that time. The location of the park is nice it's close to a restaurant and close to the hospital! On my last review I was talking about miniature golf which reminded me of this place. I didn't spend the night here but they do indeed have a miniature golf place here. Unfortunately it was the sorriest miniature golf course I have ever seen. The wind kept blowing my ball around from the hole and gophers were hiding in the holes too! We stayed at the campground for one night in a tent. The site for the tents was nice but it could have been shielded better. It's very open and not very cozy, but for one night it was fine. The facilities were very quite good and better than what I have come to expect from campgrounds in the states (I'm from Denmark). The biggest problem with this place is the location. It's close to the interstate (somewhat noisy) which is annoying but not a big problem. The mayor problem is the freight trains passing by somewhere in the town (they are extremely noisy). read more

Terrific campground. Level sites, quiet location and friendly and accommodating staff makes this a very nice stop-over on your way west or east. Will definitely come again. We're from Texas so we're new here and our campers tanks froze over and they helped us unfreeze and hook everything up without us even asking. Very nice people! Love the scenery. Only let down is the mud is bad here and the actual rv park is closed in the winter so we stayed in the mobile home behind it. Otherwise i enjoyed my stay read more

checked in with a power and water only spot. I asked the clerk if the had a dump station and she said yes and marked it on the map. The next morning I went to use it and as I was finishing up the owner came over and told me that the dump I was using was not the right one and also said she wanted $3.00 for using it. I explained how I came to use it and showed her the map. She still insisted on the $3.00. Talk about cheap. We've been camping for years now and have been to just about every type of campground out there. This was a late afternoon decision to try and stay at this one and I regret even pulling in there. The front desk girl was incredibly rude and was only doing what she had to do. When I discovered their wifi didn't reach to the site I'd payed for, they made no effort to help. After an apparent misunderstanding, the manager also got very irate and accusatory about his "gal". I left and would never use this place under any circumstances. They made no effort to assist with any handicap needs and if you have any disability, you'll be left out in the cold. This place is nothing but a gravel parking lot with hookups and a staff that has some very serious attitude issues. Avoid at all cost. I'd rather ride out a tornado, than stay in this dump. read more

Stayed one night on our road-trip. Surprisingly quiet. This campground looks like a RV storage. Nothing fancy, didn't use bathrooms, stuff is friendly and you have full hook ups and pull throughs. ok for just one night! Beware the grass areas, full with dog poop! Do NOT stay here!! The lady in the office has no clue what she is doing. Not only was she rude, she moved us TWO times. First one because some one else had that site. Second time because we needed a 50 amp and she put us in a 30 amp. Worse experience ever!! read more

I normally review these on another website, but this deserves a mention here. I am now calling this the "Port in a Wyoming Storm" place to stay. I have stayed here twice. Once in 2009 I stopped here because the weather band in my RV radio mentioned a tornado spotted near Rawlins (and I was in that vicinity), so I stopped in Rawlins and wait out a tornado and three days of snow. Then again, in 2014, I stopped here just to overnight, and had to wait out four days of wind storms. There are three RV parks in Rawlins, I picked this one when I first stayed in 2009, and stopped again in 2014 because I remembered it. Park is open year round and has heated water faucets in one part of the park. The other part of the park is winterized during winter but you can stay with just an electric hookup. It's all gravel. The spaces are on a "side by side" connection, so you and a neighbor will share a connection, but if it's April, not a problem. Great cable with 66 channels, if you can't find something to watch during a storm, then what is wrong with you? Very nice laundry facilities with large washers and large dryers. $2.50 to wash, and 25 cents per every eight minutes to dry. Good Wi-Fi, but then again, there weren't very many guests in the park for April. They also have a mini-golf and I agree with a previous reviewer, why? It's way too windy here. If you don't tow a car, and need to go shopping at the grocery store, there are two taxi services in Rawlins. This surprised me! So, twice now, I have stayed at this park as a "Port in a Wyoming Storm." read more

LARGE!!! Large entry, large drives, large spaces. Even a novice in a 45 footer pulling a car should have a easy time parking here! Gravel so dust may be a problem. Hookups were in good condition. OK for a night or two or long term for work but not a place for a base for a vacation. read more
