Not a fan of this hotel! When we arrived there was no staff member to greet us. After waiting for several minutes (with other guests arriving behind us) we finally called the hotel. The gentleman that answered stated he was the only one working there and was very busy. The hotel itself was re-modeled last year but the aesthetics are not pleasing at all. The design in the lobby and rooms are utilitarian/minimalist but it just looks cheap. I found a hair (not mine) on the tub. There is lots of signage describing how masks are required, yet the housekeeper on our floor was walking around and making up rooms without a mask. The staff was not friendly at all. Breakfast ends at 10am. When my son asked about breakfast at 9:55am, they refused to accommodate him. I have been at so many hotels that will give breakfast if available even after it closes! Our lacrosse tournament was cancelled so we left, not using two rooms for the second night of our stay. Despite being platinum members, management would not do anything for us. They would not even discount one room. We travel a lot and so often it is the customer service that's makes a hotel. Sometimes providing a customer a break might provide good will and ensure a future stay, but not in this case. read more

Stay Somewhere else. The good. IHG brand beds. That is why I stay at IHG brands. That is, unfortunately, where the good ended. The bad. When you walk in the bathrooms are for "customers only" and need a key card. I asked to use restroom before check in and was told the bathroom was for customers only. Dirty hallways, doors, The floors were filthy. Asked for two towels, was given one, and was told there were no more extras. One towel had holes in it. Went to pool and fitness center to see if we could find some there. No towels in either place. Moldy shower curtain. No coffee in the lobby until Breakfast, and then no decaf coffee was put out. The manager/owner(?) was surly and not welcoming at all. I immediately fel like booking this property was a mistake. I will never stay here again, I will sleep in my car first. read more

We stayed here in early March for a funeral. Had a reservation for three nights but left after one. We were put in a room where air conditioning didn't work. After telling us over the phone how to make it work they then moved us to another room. Great! Nice and cool and great for sleeping. Around 12:30 AM, there was banging on the door and the door was opened by a hotel employee. Luckily we had the bar across but it scared the hell out of us. Plus she was screaming through the door. We complained the next morning and found that the employee had given us the name of a different employee. We checked out and were told they would work on a refund. However, they did not and the hotel and the credit card would not give us a refund because we received services. So my advice is if someone tries to get in your room in the middle of the night you need to leave immediately. Otherwise, you will be told you received services. read more

This is an older hotel that's been recently upgraded. The upgrades are nice, but feels hastily done (scratched, chipped bathroom door). Room and hotel in general was clean with the exception of a bit of mold on the tub. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. We stayed three nights for a reasonable price and after checking out, decided to return for a 4th night for a whopping $50 more than the previous prices. Problems from making the reservation. Rep. Had a hard time getting information, had to spell my name at 5 times before finally getting it right. Had a hard with my street address (18th street )? By the time she got all the information correct the price went up 50.00 . The upper level floors had no AC in the hallway ( it was in the 90's this weekend, ) The pool was closed because they where painting the building on Father's Day ! Our stay was 2 nights . Worst hotel experience to date. I requested but wasn't guaranteed early check-in. That's fine. When I arrived early, the receptionist actually laughed when I asked. She told me I'd be lucky to have normal check in because they'd been busy. Fast forward to my week. I was there for 5 nights. I never received housekeeping services even though I didn't have my do not disturb tag up. One day, however, I returned home to my unserviced room only to find that someone had been in there to collect my used towels. Nobody bothered to replace them, though. I called down to ask about it. A man, presumably an owner or manager, opened my door after a quick knock without giving me time to answer, and handed me three gray, tattered towels. The place was dirty and tired. My mirror had a smear across it. The tub was dirty when we arrived. Nobody mentioned that half the hotel was under construction. The halls were never vacuumed. The vents were missing from the hallway. Just gross. I hated every minute of it. Don't be seduced by affordable rates or the fact that it's right off the highway. It's a dump. The pool was filthy. The only good thing about my stay was the awesome Italian restaurant across the parking lot. read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED $$$s on this establishment. The owner/manager we dealt with was petty, inhospitable, and outright hostile. As a group, we booked multiple rooms, for 7 days, for an event nearby. One evening, as a group, we watched a baseball game on tv in the lobby. At 9:30 pm, the check-in clerk came over to say that the manager (who was not there) called and said to turn off the tv in the lobby (apparently, he could remotely see that the tv was on; creepy right?). We were shocked; I asked the clerk if the hotel had a policy about turning off the lobby tv at 9:30; she said no. Turns out, the hotel had no policy (as who, what, when, why) about use of the lobby by hotel guests. Also, on that day, someone entered our room, while we were out, and turned off our tv. This is after we spoke with the maids and told them we did not need service. Others in our group had difficulties getting clean towels. During the summer of 2021, our team, coaches, and families (children, parents, grandparents) had booked hotels in numerous places, including Atlanta, Georgia; Houston, Texas; Dallas, Texas; Melissa, Texas; Phoenix, Arizona; Los Angeles, CA; Carlsbad, CA; and Marion, Iowa. We have never been treated with such utter disrespect as we have at the Holiday Inn Express Stuart, Florida. DO NOT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED $$$s on this establishment. read more

After plenty of stays here I tried to extend my recent stay just now, for one night. The general manager Hetal Patel told me that it would be NOT possible with my points, as a platinum member I have a lot of points and like to pay with them when I m not working. She said she is already over the limit she has and does not get ANY money for the room if I book it with points. The priority desk called her and tried to convince her but she didn't want to! Not coming back for sure! Update! My sister in law actually booked a room in the same place at exact the same day online for 139$ when she arrived at the hotel they tried to charge them 169 bucks, they complained but nothing was changed so they called IHG and told them they also called the front desk but the manager just told them that they are independently owned and they won't change the price! I asked the manager if I could get a late checkout. He immediately said "no " without looking at my room number. Then he asked for my room number and gave me a 30 minute late checkout. At @ 35 minutes he literally came up to my room to make sure that I was out of the room. I was just getting my bags out. Then he proceeded to go in and inspect the room as if I had vandalized the room. Come on, I am 51 year old White Collar worker with my MBA. Seriously? Are we in San Quentin State Prison? Then I was working at the business computer desk downstairs and he get stating "You are still here?" It was a rhetorical question. Then a guest asked the front desk clerk if someone could vacuum the hallways. After he left, the Front desk clerk and General Manager were commenting that if you want it vacuumed than the guest should have done it himself. I'm so, so glad that we ended up staying somewhere else. We requested an early check-in upon booking because we were attending a formal event at 5 p.m. and needed to shower and get ready (2 adults, 2 teens) and drive 20 minutes to the venue. We arrived around 1 p.m. and after waiting 10 minutes in the lobby for someone to come out to help us, the manager (owner?) entered through the front doors -- there was no one behind the counter. He told us that there were no rooms ready and the earliest he could check us in was 3 p.m. We did not see one other person the entire time we waited in the lobby, but apparently the place was full. We decided to go out for a quick lunch, and while we were out, we swung through the Best Western and got a room that was ready, was less expensive, and closer to the venue. SCORE! Thankfully our reservation at the HIX could be canceled without a fee prior to 6 p.m., so it worked out. I didn't think of reading Yelp review prior to booking -- and now that I have, I am glad we dodged a bullet. read more

I booked a room for one of our employees for one night due to a job that we were doing in that area. The Owner would not take my credit card info over the phone and instead, emailed me a form to fill out. When our employee got there, they claimed he had no reservations. Our employee went to another hotel. When I called to inquire a refund, I was yelled at by the Manager and told that our employee was a liar and that he did not even go to the hotel. The owner said he would not refund the amount charged to our business Amex. Not to mention, he charged $20.00 more than our other employee who stayed the night before. Should have listened to the previous reviews. My fiancé had work all week so I was stuck in the hotel all week to "relax". As long as I watched my back I was fine. Once while working out the owner came by and just waved, which seemed fishy. Then two days later he opened my hotel room door WITHOUT EVEN KNOCKING!!! I'm always careful to close up everything of mine when I leave the hotel and I seriously recommend this if you do choose to stay here. My fiancé and I moved to the Courtyard Marriot across the way for about $20 more a night for the rest of our stay but can't get a refund because of the type of reservation we made. It's a shame that this place is giving Holiday Inns such a bad rap, I know of plenty at home that are decent. read more

Slime Bag of an owner, drives up in his Mercedes, with grocery bags from the local Publix to refill the breakfast bar with horrible muffins, no name cinnamon rolls, bruised discounted fruit etc. How can this still be a HIX ? Rooms are barely cleaned. Prices change without notice, and the Manager literally bullies and intimidates his employees right in front of the guests. I too tried to post a negative review on the IHG website, which was rejected as not being relevant. NICE CENSORSHIP International Hotel Group. I agree with the other 2 reviews.... The hotel is clean and affordable enough (not so clean or affordable that you would be excited about it) but the service was horrible. The Internet, which is very important for business travelers was horrible. When I travel, I bring a roku box with me (it is like apple tv, a way for me to watch Netflix and hulu on the TV instead of my computer) when using a roku, you need to get onto the hotels wifi, but to do so, you need to call the Internet provider because you can't do it yourself and neither can anyone at the hotel. It may not sound it, but this is very common. I travel for a living and do this at every hotel I visit without an incident.... not at this hotel though. I called down to the front desk and asked for the phone number to the Internet company and the front desk person asked me why I needed it. I said that I wanted to hook up my Roku to the Internet. He said that he did not know what that meant. I explained that it didn't matter because it was the Internet provider who could help me, not him. Apparently this upset him and he refused to give me the number. He went as far as to tell me that he doesn't have a number for them. I asked what he would do if the internet went down and his answer Was "Nothing" Sadly, I believe that to be true. Finally, I went out for a bike ride and while I was out, they came in to clean the room. They also took it upon themselves to readjust my thermostat from 72 degrees up to 78, so when I came back from a long and hot bike ride, I was greeted by an uncomfortably warm and humid room. I am paying 140 a night.... LEAVE THE AIR CONDITIONER ALONE. penny wise and pound foolish. Go across the street to the Courtyard. Comparable prices and much better service. I will be going back there from now on. I have to wonder how Holiday Inn let this place get so bad. They are damaging the reputation of the whole chain. read more

I have been a platinum member of IHG Rewards (previously Priority Club) for 15 years, have accumulated hundreds of thousands of loyalty points and always seek out a Holiday Inn, Express, Crowne Plaza etc. when traveling on business. I can honestly say this is the most poorly run hotel property I have ever stayed at within the IHG family of properties. I booked 3 nights during February at $149.00 a night on the IHG Corp. website. Upon arrival I was informed that due to it being the busy season they could not honor my rate and I would be charged $30 more per night. I stammered, complained, asked for the manager all to no avail as Hetal Patel the Manager was who I was speaking with. I cancelled my reservation and was informed that it was past the 6 PM cancellation deadline and I would be charged for one night at the new rate of $179. I turned and walked out. I WILL NEVER stay at this location EVER. I am also reporting the property to IHG in hopes that they will drop this property as a franchisee. I expect to see it as a La Quinta or Motel 6 the next time I am in the area on business. read more

This holiday inn isn't terrible for the hotel itself. The rooms are clean. We paid 150 a night for two beds and it was average. The owners are Patel's ofcourse and do not budge on any price help. Not worth the money, go across the road to the Marriot for the extra 30$. read more

Worst hotel experience. Check in was extremely quick; we were the only couple in the lobby or anywhere around. Room was much too small for two queen sized beds. We could barely walk around the room without pressing up against something... Upgrades of smelly and dirty room carpets, add exhaust in bathroom shower because it becomes a steamroom as you shower, showerhead needs to be replaced as water stream was leaking all over the place... Gym room had three machines, but only one was working! Removed our do not disturb key tab from our door on 2nd day for cleaning and we went out. Someone removed the towels that were had strategically been placed on bathroom floor. They were picked up but never replaced. Beds never made, no coffee, soap, nor TOWELS replaced. Called front desk but no one answered after 10 minutes of calls . Had to go down to lobby to get 2 fresh bath towels - that's all I got. Spoke with a cleaning person earlier that day asking why nothing had been done and the person said that owners and managers will not pay them enough for their work as administration or managerial staff are trying to keep costs down by not supplying all the necessary amenities clients normally get with hotel stays, unless they request through the front desk. I switched 2 years ago to IHG Rewards to try a different hotel group and earn points for their premier properties and casinos in Las Vegas. With that said, I stay at a lot of HI Express properties as a frequent business traveler. I have stayed here twice and plan on staying again as I travel through Stuart. First, it's very isolated (hence, the "Lost River Road address) which I like. It's very affordable, there is ample parking, easily accessible from I-95, and there is a great Italian restaurant within walking distance that I have eaten at twice (see my review on that). I can't comment on the "rooms" (plural) as both times I have gotten the same exact one! It has been clean both times, the bathroom was up to my expectations, and the staff is friendly. The desk area was acceptable for me to do my business reports. The WiFi is very fast too if that is of importance. All in all a great experience both times. I stayed here to visit with family. We did a spur of the moment Dinner at a Restaurant right down the street. This hotel was nice and clean, comfortable and quiet. If I am ever in the area I will definitely be back . The only thing I didn't like was the breakfast, the pancakes were undercooked thru that Easy Bake Oven . read more

We stayed here last weekend for a high school sporting event and I have to say, I was really impressed with the customer service. Harry at the front desk was very accomodating and helped us get a room when there was initially nothing available. We called day after day until something opened up and he was incredibly helpful every time I called. The room was spotless, the bathrooms immaculate and the bed was incredibly comfortable and clean. Within the same parking lot as the hotel, you'll find an italian restaurant, a Baskin Robbins/Dunkin Donuts and a Wendy's. It was nice to have it all within walking distance. My only complaint about the rooms was the TV's colors and components. We were only able to watch a few channels without the contrast of hues, but the comfy beds helped us doze off quickly and the TV issue was irrelevant at that point. Our room a/c was malfunctioning and making a loud ratteling noise, when we asked to relocate, we were informed there "might be a fee" because i had already showered and used a towel before we discovered the broken ac! The management here is so rude. The woman who works at the front desk was so sassy and continued to talk to me like I was stupid when in reality she just wanted my money. I booked the room for 3 people, and four ended up staying and she made me pay for the 2 out of four which means I paid for someone TWICE. Her husband or whatever he was came up to our room at 9 o'clock in the morning asking if we were checking out today, I hadn't even opened my eyes yet when he came up. Check out is AT ELEVEN. They constantly asked my little sister if there was an adult in our room when she would go get towels obviously you've talked to us several times and there ARE adults there. I stayed in this hotel with my boyfriend and our child for 3 days. Our room had a microwave, mini fridge and a coffee maker. The microwave didn't work at all we called and ask for them to bring us another one because I needed the microwave to warm up baby bottles. The lady said the manager would be in there in a few minutes to fix it. The manager never came and they gave us such a hard time for needing a working microwave. Finally a different lady gave us a new microwave. The mini fridge doesn't get cold at all and they told me they could do nothing about it. I told one of the workers at the front desk that I think the air condition is broke on the 2nd floor because it was so hot and humid. The lady told me the manager is a cheapskate and doesn't turn the air on in the hallways. The hotel charges $2.00 for washing your clothes, $2.00 for drying them and 1.00 for one load of soap. We put the do not disturb sign on the door because we have a baby and house keeping likes to come in our room at 9 am with no knock or warning and be very loud. Well we put the do not disturb sign on the door and the house keeping kept trying to get in the room. This place is a serious joke. Let's not forget that they have maybe 10 working channels on the tv and I went to ask for tooth paste, shampoo and conditioner and they told me they were all out to go buy some.
