VERDICT: Clean, safe, new/renovated hotel with a good breakfast (pancake maker!), a hot hot tub, but a cold pool. ATTN: Holiday Inn and IHG: 1. Spend some money and heat up the pool in the evenings. We selected this hotel because of the pool! 2. Make an accurate list of TV channels and put one in each room. It will save guests time of having to scan all the channels. PROs: New, friendly receptionist, large pool, hot hot tub, great beds, many TV channels, and a good breakfast (sausages could be cooked more, but they had both links and patties). CONs: Price $110 + taxes on a midweek night in the summer in a congested area of Toledo. The was pool was also too COOL to go into for long. My children were disappointed. read more

I get a great upgrade on over 75% of my stays here including Jacuzzi rooms, staff is friendly Only negative to the hotel is the elevator being at one end vs the middle, but just deal with it. read more

Hotel in renovation so it's a bit of a mess but that wasn't the issue. Was given room 234 which I recommend not staying in or any room on the north side of building. There's a bar next door that doesn't close until 2. Can't hear the music but every 15 minutes or so you hear a guy on a microphone announcing things. Couldn't sleep until 2. Rooms are more modern and employees are pretty friendly although I resent being given a crap room (apparently being platinum doesn't matter much either) so next time I'm in town for work I'll stick with Maumee Bay Resort where the place is dated but there's peace and quiet! read more

SO FED UP WITH THIS PLACE! We wanted to stay a nice hotel but that's not what we got! No one told us about the MAJOR reconstruction going on here. Not disclosing renovations on this scale when booking a room is LYING to patrons. There are stacks and stacks of furniture and appliances, holes in the walls, and construction noise before 8 a.m. It is literally in every common area- the lobby, breakfast room, elevator coves, and every hallway. They couldn't rent a POD and store all these boxes outside?! And the coup de grace? We got to have breakfast next to the construction guys in their coveralls who were also having breakfast in the breakfast room. read more

Quick check in during COVID times, precautions in place. Facilities onsite are typical of IGH and nice. Got upgraded from 2 queen room to a king suite. Only complaint is the room has a tiny tiny TV, like comically small. Otherwise great stay and nice amenities. read more

I was here for a good 2 weeks for work. It's an Express hotel so I know it wouldn't be super nice in any way but would be clean. Overall, the place was clean but most of the hotel itself is just old so it's just "dated" and I noticed that there were people working on some rooms (and I can hear them fixing it next door while I was in my room sometimes). However, everytime I had a question or needed assistance on something the staff was very helpful and helped me right away. My room itself was pretty spacious for just myself. But again it was just average stuff and clean but nothing spectacular. Unfortunately my room was semi near the bar next door and I could hear everything when it got a little loud on weekends. Oh, and apparently I had the greatest luck to be surrounded by family of 4+ people with young kids so I would hear those yougin's run around and hear every single conversation. *sigh* There was breakfast offered every morning. Nothing spectacular again. I did stick to usual cereal and yogurt most days but sometimes I ventured to their eggs, sausage, and bacon. But, really it's reheated food. I did use their "fitness center" which only consists of one treadmill, one elliptical, and one recumbent bike. Not much but I got my cardio in when I had the energy to do so. It's next to the indoor swimming pool which always had kids in it. I was a bit annoyed sometimes when I noticed the tv in the fitness room would be turned on to some kids channel and all the towels were all used up. I only wished parents actually watched their kids sometimes... What's the good about this place? it's down the street from Sunoco which we needed to go to everyday and it had a few close restaurants so you don't need to go far. One good one to try is the sushi place in the same plaza. Also, there's a liquor store near there as well so I would get my water, juice, and alcoholic drinks when I didn't want to go to the bar or get something at the vending machine. read more

After spending 2 nights at this hotel, I can highly recommend it to future travelers. As a convenient, quiet place for business or pleasure (obviously they're not trying to be a luxury resort) it serves its customers well. The pros: 1. Super friendly staff: Check-in was a breeze, and the fresh-baked cookies and cold bottled water were a nice extra. 2. Clean, quiet and comfortable: My room was clean and the unit was very quiet. Except for an occasional door closing across the hall, I didn't hear anything. Also, desk had a nice chair, bed was comfy with plenty of blankets and pillows with differing firmness (and they were marked, too). 3. Great breakfast buffet: the morning meal options are great, and a dedicated staff member keeps the food hot, the counters clean and the options flowing. 4. Easy access to the free wifi, and it was actually pretty fast. Some places offer free wifi, but the speed is like dial-up -- not here. 5. After I checked out, I realized I had left a personal item behind. One quick call and they happily mailed this item back to me. Seriously, if you need a nice place to stay in the Toledo area, give this HIE a shot, you won't be disappointed. I will definitely stay there again next time business takes me to Toledo. read more

There is no attention to detail for customer service here. First of all, every soda machine on every floor is broken. You can buy soda from the front desk, but somehow it's more money than the vending machines. When I made the front desk worker aware that all three vending machines were broken, she just brushed it off. Didn't apologize for the inconvenience. Then we headed to the pool. It is incredibly hot in there with tons of chlorine, enough to give you a headache. There were NO towels for guests. I located a worker in the hallway and told them there were no towels at the pool and it took 20 minutes for any to be delivered. The fire alarm went off at 2 am waking everyone up. Then I got a wake up call at 6am that I never requested. So much for sleep. Beds weren't very comfortable either. I won't return. read more

This is a Holiday Inn. That, alone, gets some stars off. I would never stay at a Holiday Inn by choice, but there was a work event going on in the building and the appeal of sleeping later versus staying in a nicer place and having to drive here every morning for 2-3 days was too much to overcome. Check-in was hideous. There were three people at the desk and only two people in front of me and I waited over 10 minutes. The rooms had a funky musty smell - even non-smoking - and the fridge was open and off, which sucked since I wanted to cool some beverages I brought and I had to wait all night for it to cool and cool the contents. The next day, I was out of the room from 9 to about 3 and although they came in and emptied the garbage and took the used towels, they never finished and later (when napping) I got a note saying they were unable to clean my room because I was in it. What place doesn't get it done before check-in time??? The breakfast they offered was actually quite elaborate for a freebie- pancakes to order (machine), yogurt, eggs, bacon one day and sausage patties the next, biscuits and gravy, fruit, and various pastries as well as 4 kinds of juice and milk. The pool and hot tub were down all week for repairs (not that I would use them) and the place was fairly quiet at night despite people all checking-in with cases of beer and being next to a "carry-out" liquor store and bar. One extra star for the no-hassle free wi-fi and helpful staff during the meeting set-up. read more

We stayed 3 nights and were very pleased. It was clean and quiet - our two most important requirements in a hotel. One of the managers was very helpful in offering nearby restaurant recommendations - they were excellent. The staff across the board were terrific. We will definitely be staying here again when we visit northwest Ohio. read more

I stayed there this past Saturday night. The place seems to be newer and is indeed well maintained. The room was clean, the plumbing worked, and the staff was helpful. Both the wired and Wi-Fi Internet connections worked quickly and reliably. The parking is inadequate is seems to be shared by various other businesses. The neighborhood seems to be safe. The breakfast bar was well stocked and tasted great. The hallways and elevator were broiling hot. The hotel owners need to look into this. I would have given the place a solid five stars, except that the place has a HORRID and PERVASIVE noise problem, at least on Saturday evenings. Right near the hotel is a place called Icons Eatery & Entertainment. Beginning at about 9:00 p.m., this loud thumping, from the bass speakers starts and continues to 2 or 3 in the morning. I called the Oregon Police Department twice. The first time, a female dispatcher listened well and sent an officer over. The music seemed to soften, at least for a while. Then it got even louder than it originally was. When I called later, at about 11:40 p.m., a snarly, young male dispatcher answered and was not helpful. When I asked when the bars close, he told me that it was midnight, which was an outright lie. He also told me that the bar (Icons) had a PERMIT to play the music that loudly. He also said it was incumbent upon to get my room moved! The place was packed and there was no place to go! I would recommend that travelers think twice about visiting this HIE on weekends, if for no other reason, than the noise from the dive bar. read more

I am absolutely disgusted with this hotel. I will never be booking with them or any hotel in their brand again. I attempted to book two rooms for a bachelorette party. Apparently this somehow ended up being 3 rooms and "I booked those," so they can't be held accountable. They also can't be held accountable for the multiple times I was on the phone with their staff saying "Saturday" or "26th." Ridiculous. I'd give 0 stars if I could, but the 1 star is OK for the nice desk worker (I think her name was Angela) for actually being sincere, apologetic and doing her best to fix the situation for me. This hotel turned out to be a really great choice. Our family had rented 4 rooms however one of the rooms was over fragranced with febreeze or something. It wasn't a bad smell, just over powering. Since each room had two full sized beds, we decided that one group would bunk with another, not a big deal. The service was excellent and everyone was really helpful. They took off the charge for the room and they were super friendly (thank you!) and apologetic. All of the rooms were a really good size, very clean, and had all of the amenities you could possibly need, to include a microwave and good sized mini-fridge, which had a mini freezer for my wife's ice packs (needed for medical reasons). The bathroom was also a good size, clean, stylish, and the shower had amazing water pressure! We would definitely stay here again and we would definitely stay at another location in the future. read more

The hotel stay was fine. The management staff not so much. My car keys ended up at the bottom of the elevator shaft by accident on Saturday(our fault). The problem is that management had no idea how to get my keys back and told us they didn't have a key to the elevator. They proceeded to make calls and then told me that it would cost me $1600 on the weekend for an elevator company to retrieve them or $800 on a weekday. WHAT?!?!? We called everyone we could think of...other hotels, sheriff, and fire department. All of those places were floored with the prices given to me and the fact that they said they didn't have a key to their own elevator. We stayed an extra night (Sunday night) because we were told that they would be doing routine maintenance on Monday. Come Monday, the manager said he didn't say that. We basically told them what to do to retrieve the keys on Saturday. Finally they decided to try on Monday and low and behold the in-house maintenance guy had a key to the elevator all along. I would never stay at this hotel again because management had no clue how to access the elevator. If a small child got an appendage stuck in that void between the elevator door and the floor, it may literally cost you an arm or a leg to free them!! Highly disgusted to say the least. read more
