We had a wonderful stay! I was blown away by how many amenities and activities there were especially for somewhere in Ohio. I wish the rooms had more suites, but otherwise all positives.

View from my room on a warm, beautiful fall day with the door open.

I have stayed here several times now for work. Our fall pastor's retreat has been held here the last couple of years. The rooms are nice and clean. I love the shower! I wish my shower at home was this big and such! The resort has so much to do! It is an absolutely beautiful place to walk around and hike the various trails. There are maps available of all of those trails. For golfers (which I am not), they have a golf course. There's a swimming pool, splash of area for kids, hot tubs, a fitness center, and an arcade. There are 2 restaurants and a gift shop in the resort as well. However, I haven't eaten at either restaurant so I cannot attest to the food or service. Our retreat was held upstairs in the banquet areas and was catered by that team. The food we had for our retreat was fantastic! I am gluten free and the option they had for those of us who are GF on the pasta night was chicken, mashed potatoes, and green beans. It was delicious! Overall, I have really enjoyed my stays at Maumee Bay State Park. I do think it's rather expensive and the wifi isn't completely reliable. Those are 2 big downers. However, I wasn't paying for the room out of my own pocket for this retreat.

We go here every year for Christmas brunch and it's always fantastic! Great food, great service and super pretty location. Has the water in the background with well kept lawns and gardens. The kids area is super cute and the gift shop is always a temptation lol

Restaurant can't cook a steak that's far over priced the vending machines would not work with the card swiper had to walk to the other end of the building to get ice because the machine in our hall was brokendown and had to call maintenance to try and fix our cooling system with no results room was tiny with too much furniture and the staff seemed to have no solutions for any of it I'm here for another night but can't find another place due to 4th of July weekend

Tip: The Wifi is horrible, and needs a serious upgrade. We had a lovely stay and enjoyed this State Park lodge. We found out that it was built in 1991 and per the reviews and friends this is the nicest state park lodge in Ohio. It truly was a nice lodge. The room was spacious and even though we didn't pay extra for a lake view we had beautiful trees in front of our balcony where we could see the occasional warbler and other birds. I wasn't a huge fan of the rate per night. We have stayed at other hotels at the same rate and received free hot breakfast and free hot dinner. I feel that this place could at least do something similar. I loved all the chairs everywhere throughout the lodge. That was a nice touch that I would love to see other places. There was lots of choices when it came to activities that one could do when staying here. A pool with a splash pad for kids, spa, sauna, fitness center. There was an indoor kids play area as well as one outside. There was a racket ball court & a Wallyball court. Outside there was a nice trail that led to the nature center. There was free coffee in the lobby that was always fresh and hot, I appreciated that! I loved the fireplace in the lobby with rocking chairs. We had a great stay, I have 2 complaints: 1. The 3% beautification fee that was tacked on everything from our total stay to the dining room food. 2. The WiFi was awful! It kept disconnecting us and since the area is a dead zone it made it impossible to find restaurants in the area or getting Waze to load.

Our three night stay was relaxing and fun! The two queen room was spacious, with plenty of room for the pack n play where our daughter sleeps. There was a nice built in bench, although it could have used some light over it. We also had a desk and chair, a table and two chairs, and a sliding door to a nice balcony. The front side of the building (not lake view) had trees lining the balconies, and we were able to do some birdwatching from right there at the window. There are trails for additional birdwatching. The trail also leads to a nature center, reviewed separately. There are plenty of sidewalks on the lake side of the lodge, lots of green grass, and a nice view of the lake, or technically the bay. This region is known to be a great spot to see warblers at certain times of the year, and even though it was past the time, we still saw plenty. The indoor pool was rather large: ranges from 3 ft deep to 5 ft. There are two hot tubs and a little splash pad with six water spouts. The splash pad was on a timer so as not to waste water. It also had a spout that sprays into the pool. We saw signs for saunas nearby, but didn't check them out. The indoor play room for the kids was great! Not a ton of stuff there but enough to entertain my toddler for about 20 minutes and not many things can do that! My only complaint is the WiFi: it was terrible. It kept kicking our devices off. If you want to disconnect, this is the place. If you still want access to internet, prepare to be annoyed. The whole area is a dead zone so you're completely dependent on the terrible WiFi connection. We ate breakfast at the Water's Edge, the restaurant located in the lodge, and we found plenty of tasty food in nearby Toledo for our other meals. The whole lodge has a nice homey feel: fireplaces, free coffee in the lobby, comfy chairs everywhere. The stay was on the expensive side for only free coffee in the lobby: no meals, no snacks, etc.

The pool was safely managed, super clean! We enjoyed in the evening each day of our visit, it was perfect ! We ate a late supper our last night @ Waters Edge on site. Food was good, prices as 1 would expect for a state resort. The ambiance beautiful despite the coldness due to covid. The service was really good, the view obviously beautiful. safely managed, super clean! We enjoyed in the evening each day of our visit, it was perfect ! We were so pleased with the beautiful scenery and views around this property! We will definitely come back. Prices were extremely fair, really a steal when you consider all amenities included, and constant activities for the family. We loved the food at the restaurant and the staff was amazing. So much to do here from canoeing to watching Disney movies by campfire! Loved it!

We are here for 5 nights and couldn't be more please with the room! To start we are enjoying dinner at Brim House and Emma ( our waitress) is absolutely amazing!! The bartender, Tim, also made me a special and delicious drink!! Wow! So far so good!! Especially our King corner room with the river view. Day 2, Valet service is a real shit show. Pulled our car up and didn't brush snow off, had our check out wrong, didn't leave our vehicle running, didn't give us the fob so had to go back in. For $32 a night, so far not good. Not happy. Also after we left I received a call from the hotel, the valet had lost a bottle of prescription meds & wanted to know if we could search around the drivers seat for them. So we searched the vehicle & didn't see any meds( but seriously???). Also got 3 different answers on when the Executive Lounge is open from the front desk. Apparently it will be open for breakfast on Friday the 2nd and then closed the weekend. However, Emma our waitress from the night before was our waitress for breakfast and she was fabulous! Her attention to detail and wonder personality makes her great for customer facing service. She should really be the face of the hotel! Day 3- so the valet has lost our vehicle. After telling us it wasn't put in the system correctly & also not having the correct license plate number , they told us to go to the hotel restaurant & breakfast would be on them. That is nice but we have a place to be today as we are here for a friend's wedding and we need to go to the venue for pre wedding stuff. But here we are getting breakfast because we have no vehicle! But the nice part is again, Emma our waitress at the Brimhouse in hotel and also Holly who are both very nice and wonderful. All food pics on this are from Brimhouse in hotel in lobby level. Day 4, went to check out the Executive Lounge, this is the first day we were told it would be open for breakfast and our key didn't work, again. Had to go to front desk and get our key card retapped ( again). They didn't have breakfast at all. Just snacks and a small refrigerator with water and juice. Video shows the Executive Lounge. We also found out that the lounge is only open this morning and won't be open the rest of the weekend. So basically we thought it was nice that we were getting complimentary access and really only are able to enjoy it for one time. We are Diamond with Hilton so we wanted to really see how this hotel does Executive Lounge. Let's just say it leaves a lot to be desired. Hilton lounge would not be closed this long and especially over a holiday weekend. In order to get lounge access, outside of complimentary, one has to be a Titanium level. Honestly I would be so disappointed if I was Titanium and the lounge wasn't open and the " food" was what the video shows. We are supposed to have dinner at Brim house, 6:00pm for a party of 8 people. Stay tuned. Dinner was wonderful at Brim House and Emma was absolutely perfect. Also Thea at the bar was phenomenal! Day 5, wedding day. Bride and groom and in laws arrived last night and now Brim House is hooking me up with coffee and muffins for the bridal suite. Again Brin House has made all the other hotel crazy so worth everything. Once again Emma is taking care of us and I am very appreciative and grateful. Also connected to the hotel is Barry's Bagels and they make their bagels fresh so be sure to check them out. Day 6- checking out about 7:15 am and of course the valet charge was not removed from them losing our car, so that had to be corrected. Otherwise checkout was fine and as expected. A word of caution though to always make sure charges are correct before leaving any hotel as it can be time and challenging to take care of errors after you are home. I know this was a long review but I wanted to be thorough with so much that happened.

Overall a good stay and I would definitely stay here again and would recommend the hotel if in the area. Upon check-in there was no acknowledgement or thanks for being a member of Hilton Honors. The Hilton Hotels are usually on top of this. Regardless of status level other hotels are great at acknowledging and expressing appreciation. We were offered a snack and a bottled water though. During the stay the staff did a good job managing the craziness of tons of kids in the hotel running around. I think there was some kind of sporting match. The kids destroyed breakfast but the staff kept up and reset quickly. I was impressed. Most of the overall staff were exceptional and some were mediocre. Sunday night the front desk clerk hid out in the office and was never stationed out front. The rest of the stay the front desk was fantastic. In regards to COVID safety, I don't believe I saw one employee wearing a mask the entire stay. It appeared to be a Toledo Ohio thing as that region was lacking masks in restaurants and other venues too but with Hilton Standards it would have thought the hotel would have been better. The Hotel is clean and the room was spacious. The beds were really comfortable but the walls were a little thin and you could hear the TV and neighborhoods in their bathroom. I did notice a lot of little things like no conditioner in the room and the white bathroom walls were slightly dirty and could have used some bleach. The hotel has some slight wear and tear but was really nice and I am just being overly picky. The hotel has all the comforts starting with a guest laundry room on the second floor. There is an indoor pool and whirlpool. There is a little business center, fitness center, and snack shop. I thought the price point was a little high but good area and an exit or two away from downtown. I needed a late checkout Monday and the manager (Andy) was more than accommodating. It helped to take some stress away from a late morning/early afternoon virtual meeting I needed to attend. That was the only time during the stay that I really felt the value of being a Hilton Honors member but that was never acknowledged. Not sure it needed to be but the courtesy and professionalism of that made the stay. Oh, and I will close the review out by saying they have the nicest stairways I have ever seen. Make sure to check those out.

The hotel of proclaimed "limitless romance" sits awkward and unassumingly on a back road between commercial businesses. The rooms are lined buildings like windowless townhouses, almost eerie until we found our room number and pulled into our personal garage. I had been waiting months for this visit because, as expected in the Midwest, hotel rooms with personal pools can be a hot commodity so I booked WAY in advance. For a price tag of over five hundred dollars, the Grand Royal Pool Suite gave us every amenity I could've imagined; soaking tub, two person shower, plush robes, electric fire place, soft king bed, sauna and what we really drove all that way there for, our own personal, private swimming pool. During our stay at Belamere Suites we found indulgence, comfort and, as advertised, limitless romance.

The hotel is tucked away in the middle of an industrial park surrounded by semi trucks, which immediately ruined any romantic atmosphere we were hoping for. To make things even stranger, there were pieces of childlike artwork oddly placed on the outside of the buildings--nothing about it felt romantic or inviting. Inside the room, things didn't improve much. While it was clean, the rose petals placed on the bed were fake, which felt cheap and undermined the "luxury" experience they advertise. The fireplace clicked nonstop whenever we tried to use it, making it impossible to relax. The worst part of the stay was the noise. Our neighbor spent the entire evening screaming at a football game. I called the front desk to complain about the noise, and the only solution they offered was to "drive the golf cart around." The yelling stopped for about 30 minutes and then started right back up. At that point, any romantic vibe I was trying to create for our anniversary was completely gone. We were so aggravated--especially considering the extravagant price tag--that it was clear we weren't going to sleep or enjoy ourselves. We ultimately decided to leave at midnight and just go home. When I called to request some sort of reimbursement, I was offered 50% off a future stay. I honestly found that laughable--I wouldn't return even at $100 a night. This was a memorable anniversary for all the wrong reasons, and I cannot recommend Belamere Suites based on our experience.
