I usually enjoy my stay here. Last night was HORRIBLE. There was a large group of people here likely celebrating something and I got back to my room around 8pm. They were out front by the entrance and around 9 started playing music extremely loud (with the bass and all). The entrance is quite a distance from my room and it was LOUD and I could feel the bass. This went on til 2:30 am. At 5:30am the group started gathering to leave-music blaring, revving the motorcycles, beeping the horns, etc. Absolutely ridiculous that nothing was done to put a stop to this. read more

I had to stay on two successive weeks because of business in Waldorf. When you make a reservation, they say that feather pillows are automatic but you can request a different pillow. Since I'm allergic to feather pillows, down, etc, I put in a request for a synthetic pillow. When I checked in, none were available. The front desk clerk even walked me into the supply room and I could see this for myself. He gave me a cotton comforter and a flat sheet to wrap around it and this was my "pillow". So when I checked out, I told the woman at the front desk what had happened, that I was coming back the next week, and please set aside a synthetic pillow for me. She pulled my records and noted all this. Came back the next week and brought along my own pillow from home just in case. Same thing! Nothing had been reserved for me. They do remove all feather pillows before you enter the room, but even requesting in advance both in the reservation and in person had no effect in terms of saving one for me (not even three, just one!). They were friendly, helpful, the rooms were clean, but this was not acceptable to me. Also, the breakfast was very sparse, nothing like most Holiday Inns - some bread stuff, some meat stuff, some dried cereal, yogurt in the fridge. Nothing they should brag about. read more

Six days after a snowfall the front parking lot including all handicapped parking places was covered with snow and ice. I had a confirmed reservation and was stuck. The desk staff told me the back lot (not nearly as safe) was plowed. That too was deceptive. There were cleared parking places but access to the hotel still required a dangerous trek over an icy path. The television did not work. Changing the battery and remote helped. But no channel guide made watching difficult. I felt unable to leave to get a meal due to the horrific parking lot and ice. We booked a room here, solely for the pool. I think you should let people know when they are booking if the pool is down. Especially if you advertise one. The pool was not working. ugh. However, we asked the front desk and there is a public pool at a local school just down the street, $5 each person and it is a little drive. That was a nice gesture we really appreciated The room was fine, the air was cold. It looked pretty clean, there was some damage on the wall that looked like it should be fixed, but I didn't see any bugs. The bathtub did not drain well at all. The water was over my ankles before I got out. The breakfast in the morning was actually decent. The usual stuff, eggs, turkey bacon, cereal. Y'all should taste your orange juice tho, thats really rough -- and sour. All in all, front desk nice, staff very nice, I may return, but only if I know for sure the pool will be open. *UPDATE* I started out with 4 stars on this place. I was physically happy with it. Then my girlfriend, who booked the room, text me to tell me that her credit card had been charged a random $81, TWICE! And when she went to call them, no one answered. She ended up calling corporate who never gave her an explanation as to why she was charged, but she was refunded the money. So, all in all. You can stay here, BUT WATCH YOUR BANK ACCOUNT! They seem to be sneaky. Really nice hotel! Staying here because of the Spartan this weekend. Very clean. Smelled really nice when we came in. Enjoyed the continental breakfast which had EVERYTHING! Pancakes, waffles, toast, muffins, pastries, turkey sausage, ham, breakfast burritos, scrambled eggs, omelettes, literally the best breakfast I've ever had in a hotel! So many options. Pretty decent fitness center for a hotel. Had an indoor pool but I didn't see a hot tub. Would totally stay here again! Only 4 stars because they couldn't seem to get our key cards to work. I booked a night at this hotel for the sole purpose to use the pool. It was my daughter's 11th birthday and she brought her two best friends. We tried using the pool but were unable to. We were told they were having a party. There was 20 kids in there, with one adult, who was NOT supervising. I get it, pools can get crowded. BUT they were OUT OF CONTROL! One of my daughters friends got hit with a football. The other had a kid thrown on top of her, which took her under. My three were huddled over in the deep end, by the ladder, unable to move around the pool. We left because it was unsafe. I went to speak to the front desk. Told her we didn't want to stay and I wanted a refund. She apologized and said it's not right and she'd contact the manager. She called me and said they could offer me some snacks! Well the location was great because you are in the middle of everything. The bathroom have dove liguid lotion, shampoo, wash shower gel an conditioner. The water is also powerful. The bed sleep like a baby an you can bring down the shade to really darken the room. The is a night light in the bathroom so you don't have to search in the dark. It have a mini fridge, a coffee machine a tv with remote a desk with desk light an two chairs. The breakfast is a bit limited for me, no hashbrown just omelet, sausage, cereal, pancake, toast. Orange an bananas. Its the basic amarican food but the veg omelet was good an the orange an coffee. I would visit again. I did not use the other amenities but i believe there is a indoor pool. Its a busy location because you get lots of different groups, army, travelers etc an the area is very clean. The lady in the breakfast area always wipe down the area an make sure the food area is keep well. The price for a twin bed night stay was under $130 a night. An you get more benefits if you a member of the hotel, such as 2pm check out. There is also lots of parking in the front an back area. The pictures from the hotel were misleading. 2nd night here and was supposed to be here for a week. I'm really thinking to change my mind. The free breakfast was not worth it to decide to stay. The pool bottom looked old. There was NO whirlpool that it seem to have. The laundry on the 2nd floor is not working. There is a new washer that is NOT hooked up yet. NO dryer!! Can't do laundry even though the website said there was laundry. BAD!! The gym was ok but not great. You can't flush the toilet because they are using those water saving tanks so nothing really flushes. Looks like the place is trying to stay cheap. There was a little piece of pub hair in the bathroom. The decor looks very drab. The tv channels really suck. Basically, I think I need to get out of here. read more

Well - stayed here again & had a small problem. I left the hotel really early for business (around 7am). I needed to request a later check out, & as a platinum elite member I knew I could get until 2pm. I spoke to the girl at the front desk who assured me this was no problem. She seemed to be having a problem with the computer, so as I was standing there waiting for it to be confirmed, she said, "oh it's okay, I've got you down until 2". She even wrote down my first & last name & room number. I returned to my hotel around 12 noon & proceeded to work from my room. Suddenly around 12:35pm there was a loud banging at the door. I was on a business call, so I did not answer it. Immediately after, the room's phone began ringing. I picked up & someone said quite loudly "hi are you extending your stay??". I could actually hear the person speaking from right outside my door as well. I was in such shock, as this has NEVER happened to me before that I said "yes, I already did". I then heard her scream down the hall "John! She already extended her stay". Hung up the phone & quickly realized that I hadn't actually extended my stay, just my checkout. At this point I was fairly annoyed & frustrated on having been interrupted that I decided to pack my things & check out. I stopped by the lobby to let them know what had happened. The same girl was there from that morning. I explained that I thought there had been some sort of miscommunication, as I had spoken to her that morning about extending my checkout & there had just been a person from housekeeping pounding on my door & calling my room. She then said "You spoke to me?". I was dumbfounded. I get that in a business like this you see a million different faces, but we had spoken THAT morning! 4 hours ago! At length! And also, THAT'S the first comment out of your mouth? It gets worse... I proceeded to remind her of our conversation & she then changed her story to "oh yes, well I put that in the system. I put you in for 2pm". I then restated that there must have been some sort of miscommunication with housekeeping & they weren't aware because they had been pounding on my door. She then does apologize, but it goes downhill from there. She says "I'm so sorry, that's so rude" & "do you know what she looked like? I can have my manager speak to her" "was she a black woman?". I was appalled. Typically, when I've encountered problems with corporations or businesses before, the policy is NOT to ask the customer to point out who caused the problem, but to apologize & let them know it would be addressed. Ugh. It just really rubbed me the wrong way, from her not remembering me, to then swearing she DID make the change. Seems fishy. read more

They gave our reservation away and left us stranded with a baby, toddler, and a dog. The person who took my reservation did not ask for a credit card. I assumed none was required. She did however ask for my email address and phone number. And yet nobody contacted me before giving away my reservation. This is horrible customer service and simply not acceptable. read more

WORST STAY EVER!!!! I'll try to make this short as I'm still FURIOUS with this hotel. Front desk clerk was the rudest and disrespectful front desk clerk I've ever came in contact with. Mind you im an Aspire Elite Member and I basicly live in these hotels. This clerk by the name of PORSCHE told me she couldnt change my rooms to a double queen because she had a big party coming in, I was confused at first so I was like ok. I then checked my App and I was able to select the room I wanted.. So I called back and told PORSCHE I'm able to select that toom and I want it. This hotel is amazing and my favorite in the area. Always clean and well up kept. Service is great no matter what time of the day it is. Room was spacious and bed felt amazing. Bathroom was clean and they had great amenities. The breakfast was so delicious and the area was kept clean by a sweet lady. One of the best continental breakfasts I've ever had. I didn't visit the pool but I did see some other guest coming from it. They also have a fitness center and business center on the property for free access. Overall one of the best hotels in the area for a great price. I will definitely return as I have before. read more

Stayed here over the Christmas holiday not too bad just wish the outlets actually worked in the room the ones in the lamp instead of having to charge my devices across the room also the hot water frequently went out while taking a shower absolutely the worst but other then that staff were pretty nice and welcoming ! We checked into room 310 upon our arrival at the hotel. When getting to the room there was an immediate smell of smoke. It was clear that guests before us smoked in the room. It was late, almost midnight so I decided to go with it, at least for the night. In the bathroom there was hair on the ceiling of the shower and most disturbingly a substance that looked like droppings on the sink. At that point I called the front desk at reported the issue. The desk attendant was not at all apologetic about the concerns, but did send someone to clean the ceiling and matter. The guy who cleaned said the black substance was rice. The next morning the another dropping like substance was on the bathroom mat. Again I called the front desk and they sent someone up. This time the lady they sent up was very apologetic, also notice that the room reeked of smoke and offered to move us. The staff reported that the dropping like black substance was matter falling from the ceiling vents. Whatever the case it was clear that this room never should have been assigned as the smell of smoke alone should have taken it offline until it was sufficiently aired out. Between the smell, the "droppings", the hair in the shower and the broken ironing board I was tremendously disappointed with my stay. read more

The one thing I would suggest is when I called to reserve the room I wish they would have let me know the pool was unavailable. The only reason I say this is because sometimes I book a hotel based on the pool for my daughter. This was not the case in this circumstance, I was traveling for work, just a customer service note! I remember Holiday Inn as a child, and all I can really remember is the pools. Fast forward to today, a very different yet still simple...Holiday Inn. The rooms have microwaves, mini fridges, flat screens...and BREAKFAST! As far as this location is concerned, the same is offered. The beds & pillows are very comfortable and clean! The room was clean except, after moving the furniture around, I found a cup underneath the chair (which makes me wonder how clean the rooms are, or how much cleaning is done?) The bathroom was also *clean, except the shower could have gotten a little more attention...(I like my bathrooms, spotless!) Overall, I would check-in, time & time again, but not the $114.00-$154.00 rates I've seen advertised! read more

Room was nice and comfortable. My main point of contention that there was a broken fire extinguisher door with shattered glass near the elevator. It was fairly obvious and certainly unsafe for any children around, but it stayed there during the duration of our visit despite housekeeping walking by it. read more

We were fortunate to get matched with this Hotel through Hotwire. We stayed for about a week at 73 per night. And although we didn't use much of the pool or gym, it was quite pleasant. My wife and I have been traveling exclusively Marriott for the last 23 years because we wanted to know what to expect at the hotels we stayed in. Marriott has been going to the dogs in recent years so we decided to try Holiday Inn. Our first stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Waldorf MD was a hit. The front desk staff was friendly and attentive. I will say that the ladies at the front desk have to be in the top five positive and friendly staff that we have seen at a hotel. We highly recommend this hotel. I have a low tolerance for businesses that take my money and give me lousy service so when I say that they are good, they are good. read more

Great service and great prices!! If you are in the Southern Maryland area, you should make it a point to stay here. Waldorf is not picturesque or anything, but to come home to a nice place and nice people will make it worth it. Plus, nearby are all the different restaurants you could think of.
