Location, location, location! We decided to splurge to stay in the city over the suburbs. We are glad we did. We took the Metro even though there was some walking to get to the station. It is a block away from a bus line so we took that too. The room does provide a list of restaurants that are nearby which is nice. Our room was clean. Housekeeping could do a better job (we didn't have enough towels for our room of 4, no drying bath mat, ran out of body wash). Our shower head needs to be replaced. It was worse than a rain shower. The shower floor is slippery but thankfully they provided a rubber bath mat. There is a huge fitness center and a pool with a hot tub which my family enjoyed. They have underground parking available for a daily fee which is convenient. Front desk was friendly. We would stay here again. read more

O star. Extremely disappointing experience. My parents were assigned a room directly next to a machine/mechanical room, and the noise was so loud that they simply could not sleep. They immediately asked the front desk to change rooms but were told the hotel was fully booked. The hotel offered to move them the next day, but provided no compensation at all for the first night. The noise was so unbearable that my father eventually had to sleep on the bathroom floor, while my mother tried to sleep covered with some of her clothes and became sick afterward. I understand that a hotel can be fully booked, but it is unacceptable to charge the full price for a room that is effectively unsuitable for sleeping. I called the hotel afterward, but they refused any compensation and were dismissive about the situation. Moving them the next day does not make the first night acceptable. Providing guests with a reasonable place to sleep is the most basic responsibility of a hotel. Very disappointing. read more

My partner and I stayed here for 1 night on Friday October 11, 2024. We were gifted a certificate so despite being locals to the area we took advantage of this occasion to have a staycation in Montreal and enjoy the downtown area. We stayed in room 1222 on the 12th floor which is a standard room with King size bed. I noticed this hotel does offer a range of suites which appear very spacious. This standard room was spacious enough and featured 2 huge windows that let in tons of natural light during the day but also had effective blackout curtains for sleeping. The room was facing the South Shore of Montreal, so this was away from the main street and proved to be very quiet. We had a great view of the Champlain Bridge. If you are concerned about city noise, I recommend asking for a room facing away from the city. We heard the occasional siren but suprisingly it was very quiet at night. The bed was comfortable - pillow top, not too soft and the mattress was in OK condition, I could feelt some indentations but the sleep quality was not disturbed. The room had a spacious bathroom with stand up shower (no tub), large sink and counter area featuring all Dove ammenities. There was built in liquid hand soap, lotion, body wash, shampoo and conditionner. I love this option over the little bottles. If you prefer bar soap, it is available by request. I ended up asking and got mini bars of Dove soap. The room has a Keurig coffee maker, with 4 different types of coffee pods and 2 tea pods as well. There is a mini fridge and 2 bottles of complimentary drinking water. This was a nice touch. The roomed was very well maintained, everything looked clean and fresh. The general appearance of the hotel is modern and sleek. I really enjoyed the pop of color in the lobby and the fact there were some decorations for the fall season, like pumpkins and leaves. We visited the pool area on the upper floor and this was a beautiful sight at night - there are large windows all around so you get a great view of the city. There is a hot tub, sauna, fitness center and a laundry room for you to use (paid) on the same floor. They also have an outdoor area/balcony unfortunately this was locked off. Breakast is not normally included at this hotel but our gift certificate did have this combined - we ate at the Crossbar restaurant in the lobby, there is also a small cafe if you just want to grab and go. If this were not included, I would have never paid for breakfast as the food was grossly overpriced and very average. Omelettes or eggs benedict were close to $30 for example. Juice and coffees are extras. We waited a long time for food on the Saturday morning - the flavors were ok but nothing oustanding. I honestly would have preferred a buffet option like other chains of this caliber offer so we can just get what we want and get on with our day. In terms of location, being downtown and just up a street from Crescent and St-Catherine this is very ideal - there is also the Lucien Lallier metro just steps away from the hotel. I can't compare this to other hotels downtown as I don't know them, but the whole experience was very favourable. Note this hotel offers paid parking for $35 a day - there is a clean and secure underground lot for guests only. I would recommend this hotel for a modern stay, spacious rooms and nice facilities. Steps away from the Bell Center, metro, nearby Provigo supermarket and all attractions. You can be downtown and still have a room that is facing away from the main action if you need peace. We picked this hotel due to the close proximity to the Bell Centre. Staying here allowed us to walk there for a concert. In addition, it was very close to many restaurants on Crescent Street. The other draw was they featured EV charging for guests. The hotel was clean and appeared to be either recently updated or new. Our room was a corner room with huge windows giving us a grand view of the surrounding area. The bathroom was large with Dove products in large containers. None of those single use shampoos and lotions that you typically receive at hotels. There was a restaurant on the premises so if you don't feel like venturing out, you can enjoy a a meal or two there. The pool and gym are on the 15th floor and there is a terrace outside the pool area with lounge chairs. Lastly, the EV charging was a huge convenience. After arriving to the hotel with 14% charge, we were at 100% by the next morning at a cost of $5 Canadian. Parking is $36. read more

What a perfect location to enjoy events at the Bell Centre, which is maybe 100 -150 metres from the hotel. Just across the street from the main entrance is several food establishments catering to locals and tourists alike. You don't need to leave the block for anything. Ok, then there's the hotel itself. Amazingly new, (2017?) where everything is still fresh and clean, with great service at the front to help us with our needs. There's a decent size pool, hot tub, along with a fitness facility. Perfect get-a-way to enjoy a sport along with some relaxation. We are English speaking only, and had no hitches with language barriers whatsoever. read more

Absolutely horrific customer service. We arrived around 4pm and dropped our things off in the room and then immediately went to walk around town and have dinner. Returned to the room around 11pm and went to get into the bed....noticed the pillow case and sheets both had dried blood on them. Notified the hotel staff and was provided new sheets to put on the bed myself after I had to removed the blood soiled ones myself. The manager told me that the blood was probably mine and offered us no consolation. Told the manager at no point had we even sat on the bed prior to finding the blood stains. She ultimately said it was our word against theirs and shrugged us off. I found this unacceptable for a hotel that charges the rates that they do, or any hotel for that matter. Cleaning up a STRANGERS BLOOD was not on our vacation to do list. HIGHLY advise against staying at a hotel that treats its customers like this one. read more

The Holiday Inn is about 5 months new and my stay was fantastic! The whole hotel is modern and stylish and the staff was very friendly. The location was great too since I was there for a Leafs/Habs game at the Bell Center. I really liked my room. It was clean and spacious and came with a complimentary Keurig. The hotel also has a pillow menu if you want a different pillow and also has complimentary toiletries if you forgot something! During my stay, I had a problem with the hot water in my room. The response I received was fantastic! They had someone up to my room immediately to fix it. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here! If I ever find myself in downtown Montreal I'll definitely be coming back! read more

The reviews on Expedia didn't meet my real life experience. It's fairly clean. The swimming pool and gym on the 15th floor are nice. The dumbbells go up to 50lbs and there is a life fitness leg extension and chest press as well as cable machine. Where I was disappointed was with the room. AC doesn't seem to work. It's 26 and I tried lowering to 24. Nothing. Housekeeping doesn't clean the room until you leave. Problematic because shower and pool towels are needed. Why do I need to take out the garbage when I'm paying $300+ per night. Crazy. That's all from me. Lots of decent restaurants in the area and close to the Bell Centre. Wish we had picked a hotel closer to Old Montreal. read more

Don't let bad reviews turn you away - this hotel was great. I notice the 1-3 star reviews are complaining about issues that are beyond the hotels control. Many reviews are focused on noise and construction. Anyone who visits Montreal - there is construction EVERYWHERE... not just around this hotel but I swear EVERYWHERE from downtown to Little Italy. We stayed in little Italy for the first part of our trip and I think the noise level was just as bad if not worse. This comes with big city environment so I just wanted to throw that out there after reading other gives bad reviews when it didn't come directly to the hotel. We came to Montreal during covid for 3 nights, 4 days. We booked an Airbnb originally but after not liking the Airbnb very much, I booked this hotel for our last night to make sure we were comfortable and well rested to head That was such a great idea. Immediately we were happy walking in. Nice, updated room was clean and the view was amazing (only 7th floor but we were situated in a corner unit - beautiful view). read more

I'm giving a 4 star despite the fact that the hotel is very clean, the rooms are spacious and the bathrooms also. Very modern. However the staff could be more polite, for the price we paid I was expecting a little more effort. I stayed there two nights on different weekends, as we like to keep it safe after partying all night long we didn't want to drive. During check in we were told we had access to the gym and pool which we tried swiping the cards and none of them worked. I'd recommend if you looking for a clean and spacious place. A little surprised by the not-so-stellar reviews here. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here, and didn't encounter the issues with customer service outlined in previous reviews. The building looks modern, and I believe it's one of the newer hotels in downtown. Everything looks very open concept including the hotel rooms, and I had an excellent view of Downtown Montreal from my suite. Access to the metro is quite good via the road adjacent to the hotel (although there's a bit of an incline). Overall I had very few issues during my 3-night stay here. The only blemish was when my room card stopped working on my 2nd night, but otherwise everything else had no complaints. I'd definitely recommend it to my friends...hopefully their customer service turned the corner cause I definitely had no issues in that front at all. read more

We stayed here for two nights. It was a good experience. Fair prices even with $20/day to park our car under the hotel. Our room was away from the nearby construction. There was basic city noise as expected. Our bed was comfortable with four pillows and a comfy duvet. Great lighting in the room and plenty of hangers/drawers/towels. The shampoo/conditioner/lotion/soap bars were high quality. Nice big shower. We went to the indoor hot tub the first night. Perfect temperature but not very bubbly. The pool water temp was nice. Beautiful views of the city! We didn't use the fitness center or restaurants. The concierge gave us maps and recommended sites. A metro station is very close. read more

Stayed here for a weekend and was recognized as a platinum IHG member, so I received my complimentary items.. Julie at the front desk also provided us with great dinner recommendations as we wanted to go to places where the locals go. Room is spacious and very clean.. Tip is do not take high floor room 14 and above that faces the front as the top of the hotel has the neon green holiday inn sign wrapped around the top of the hotel and the blinds inside the room doesn't stop that light from coming in..only went to restaurant bar for a drink but was disappointed that on a Saturday night the bar closes at 11 and we got back just in time to order a rushed drink as the staff hurriedly closed the bar area even with lots of people still in that area This is close to the metro, train, car rental places, and shopping on Saint Catherine's as well as restaurants There is lots of construction on the streets and in downtown in general. read more

We had an excellent (4) night stay this past weekend. Hotel is new, clean and staff are all extremely friendly. As others have mentioned there is construction going on that unfortunately the hotel cannot control. At check in we requested a high floor room away from elevator. The desk clerk told us we were near an elevator but given construction the room we were given was the best to not hear it. And we never heard anything as we had a room towards the center of the building facing Boulevard René-Lévesque Ouest. Greatly appreciated her insight - so I'd recommend asking for a room away from construction. Location was great - just a short short walk to the Lucien L'Allier metro station. read more

I really wanted to give this place a great review because the location was perfect and the hotel was spotless with large rooms, but the repeated issues with our stay detailed below made that impossible... First, we had a charge from the bar for nearly $60. I did grab a vodka and a bourbon one night to game to the room and I did not keep the receipt, but that amount seems very high - even for a hotel bar. I have requested a copy if the receipt and not received anything. Second, the first full day we were there our room was never serviced. We returned after a full day (well after 5) and the room was not done. When we left for dinner we asked to have towels dropped while we were out. When we came back they had left two towels even though there were 4 of us and we have 4 dirty towels to pick up. We had to call and request more towels. Third, on the next day our room was serviced, but they again left only 2 towels and no wash clothes. Had to call and get them delivered again. Finally, the florescent green lights on the outside of the building look cool, but they shined into our room above the curtains. See the pic I posted. It was really annoying. The service was off. We were disappointed. I hope these issues get resolved because the place has potential. read more

Nice hotel, great area, BUT room selection was terrible!! The hotel is right next door to a construction site and the initial room they gave us was as close as possible to the construction. Bright and early on Saturday morning construction started a little after 6am. Yes that's not a typo, I said 6am on a Saturday!! I had planned on sleeping in and instead had to go get our room changed, pack our stuff, and move to another room. The desk gave a weak apology and stated they had no idea. I call BS, it was not a new construction site. I think that whole situation could've been prevented and that was negligence on their end. I could've been more understanding had the hotel been full, but it was pretty empty during our stay. What a let down Holiday Inn. read more

There's a lot to be said about hotels being brand new. We had a wonderful stay here. The parking was super convenient (though expensive, but not as expensive as the 4 and 5 star hotels). The location was also rather convenient. The room was huge, the beds were comfortable, and the shower was also nice and big, plus the water could get as hot as you want. Service was also good. The only thing is, it's a little confusing at first when you try to park because you have to check in before you have access to the garage, but there was someone outside to guide us. Plus if you travel with a GPS, there's a nice little landing just outside the entrance to the underground parking where you can get your GPS connected and punch in your destination, which is nice. It's not super cheap, but it's a very good choice for the city and I'd totally come back. read more

Read about the construction next door in Debbie D.'s review. It starts around 6:30 every day. As I am an early riser, it did not bother me too much, but most people would be annoyed. Access to and from the garage is hampered because of the construction. Asked the staff to place our blue ice packs in the hotel's freezer but was refused. We need it for my wife's medicines. The staff was not accommodating. Had to keep refilling an ice bucket... As nice as the room was, will look for a different place to stay next time. read more

The hotel "seems" nice and modern, and that's about it. There are constructions ALL AROUND the hotel... starting as early as 7AM... (maybe 6AM, judging from previous comments from other travelers) So I asked to switch rooms as they gave me a room right next to the construction site... and then they moved me to a room RIGHT ABOVE another construction site... so I asked to change rooms again. And the person who helped me, "Alexis H" which seems to be his name, appeared to be very annoyed... (keep in mind I was very polite and nice when I asked to change rooms, both times) At first, he questioned whether there is a construction or not, he stepped outside and checked... LOLLL I literally said: ah... I can see and hear them from my room?? What do you mean "would you like me to check?"??? After he confirmed that there really was a construction going... he didn't apologize at all, instead, he gave me an attitude: "unfortunately we only have double beds on this side of the hotel, king beds are either on this side or the other side that you've complained about already" SORRY, I hadn't slept in 24 hours, I just want some rest, which I know is A LOT to ask, AT A FUCKING HOTEL! They didn't even try to apologize for the inconvenience they've caused me, dragging my luggage up and down multiple times, instead, they showed me contempt on how much inconvenience I HAVE CAUSED THEM. "Did you use anything from that room?" "Yeah, I lied on the bed" "Ok" LOLLLLL I told him he didn't have to give me an attitude because of something I didn't do wrong.. and he finally gave me a very very weak apology: "I'm sorry" Also I found a hair in my creme brûlée (room service)... and the inside was cold, probably the worst I've ever had. Here now and can't sleep, aside from having stupid high humidity levels the room is sitting at just under 75*F and is not cooling. Maintenance comes up and says everything is fine......even though the AC is set to 66*F. He then says the air blowing out of the vents is blowing at 18*C or 64.4*F. So I say well it sounds like the compressor is not turning on, "well it's a central system, not compressor". So its chilled water. Basically meaning it will always be humid as a swamp and will never get to a temperature cooler than the systems feed line. Not a fantastic idea for a hotel that houses guests with all different temperature preferences. read more

Me and 2 friends stayed here for one night while up in Montreal. While the rooms are clean and beautiful the front desk and the rest of the staff is rude. Dorothy at the front desk was beyond rude to us and even snapped at my friends telling her to wait when nobody was in line. She let countless people get in front of me in line even thought I had been waiting for longest. Anyway,there wasn't a whole lot of restaurants near by. The customer service if you can even call it that was horrible. I tried to call to talk to a Manager and they refused. So rude. So unprofessional. I don't think I will be back. WELCOME and BIENVENUE to Holiday Inn at Montreal. Your experience will include: an unhinged toilet, not working shower, as well as being stuck in an elevator for an hour. THE BAD: The storm starts at 9:50pm on the second night we were here. Note that our rooms bathroom did have some technical difficulties and we had asked management to fix that earlier but the problem was not resolved when we returned to the room. Anyways, back to 9:50 pm, day 2. We (3) were stuck with five (5) other people, rather lovely i'd say. (Anyways, we met some new people while we were stuck in the elevator for an hour.) Staff had advised us NOT to call the fire department, and told us to stay calm. We got tired and called anyways, and they showed up in 3 mins! THE GOOD: On that note, we got the second night for free and the bell man (claude) at the hotel, deserves a raise. He was very informative. Before the whole elevator situation he had given us directions on where to go in montreal and everything. One star goes for him, the other goes for the firefighters. read more

This hotel was a great stay. We went to Montréal for a Hockey game at the Bell Centre. We wanted to be close, so this hotel seemed like a good choice. The staff were excellent and willing to help in any way they could. Not being from Montréal, we didn't know where anything was so it was nice to have friendly people who could offer some advice. The room was very clean and spacious with an open floor plan. Bathroom was normal size for a hotel with the shower being of a good size as well. All parking for this hotel is underground, which was different for us when staying at a hotel that is. The parking spots and garage itself was pretty tight. We have a mid-size pickup and it was ok to maneuver but I wouldn't want to bring a vehicle any larger in there. The waiting or common area of the hotel is very large. There is a small eatery in the lobby as well. We would definitely recommend this hotel when staying in Montréal. read more

Our visit to Montreal was marred by our stay at this hotel. He rooms are newly renovated and are in good condition, but the service is absolutely awful. For our three night stay our room was never cleaned despite having called to request it after the first night. We were traveling with an one year old infant so we had asked that the sheets be changed after the first night, and it took three calls to get someone to bring us new sheets. Really frustrating experience because there is clearly a disconnect in their front desk/ housekeeping. After the first night we simply left the trash can full of diapers in the hallway to be picked up. If you want to enjoy your stay in Montreal, stay elsewhere. We don't usually stay at Holiday Inn hotels and we've learned our lesson. read more

This is a fairly new hotel and the room was clean and beds were comfortable. Free wi-fi. Close to downtown and short distance to different restaurants and shops. Parking underground located at the back of hotel. The parking spaces are very narrow and difficult for larger cars. To avoid traffic on the main street, best to park car at the back of hotel to register before entering garage. Service at the Front desk is smooth and quick and friendly. This is a hotel I would definitely stay at again. Check-in was quick and easy. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was decent-sized and clean. Plenty of towels, which was good, because we needed them for the pool. The pool is on the 15th floor, offering beautiful views. Parking was rather expensive, at $26/day. The lobby, while nicely appointed, suffers from being galley-style, with doors on both ends, and when both are open in the winter, it is very cold in that lobby. The location is very good, right in the downtown area, just a short walk to the underground. Overall, this is a quality hotel for the price. read more

We recently stayed at the HOLIDAY INN and RESORT at centre-vile in Montreal, Quebec. THE HOTEL was a wonderful surprise.. besides being very new.the staff were friendly and very efficient. The accommodations from our room... to the pool,exercise room, whirlpool and sauna and as an extra incentive they also provide a washer.dryer for guests to use.. there is $2.00 per machine use .but still so much better than having to spend lots..it is on the same floor as the pool. Our room was fantastic. large and comfortable bed.. roomy bathroom. ..a little sitting area also to watch t.v. .there are two large windows.. .facing different directions..to view the surrounding community. We enjoyed being able to control our room temp also..Now for the real bonus..the restaurant ..it is within the hotel.but run separately..it is an Italian restaurant going by it's menu..a very varied one to be sure.. the name is Le Crossbars in reference to lacrosse.. So onto the selections we enjoyed at this stay.. Soups ..French onion, Minestrone,..we had a salmon with capers pizza.. they have the traditional one(s) too. We enjoyed the red snapper.. with a crispy fresh salad. the wine and liquor list is very wide ranging .and quite tasty too. we did eat out at other places ..but were so happy with our service and the atmosphere at the crossbar .well we just kept going back eating lunch and breakfast too. The wait staff and managers were all very friendly and happy to talk and entertain the customers ..we are definitely going back..very soon..Some of the servers/management we would like to especially recognize are.. This is the absolute worst hotel I've ever stayed at. First we were given a room on the third floor and the noise from the street was terrible. You could hear every little thing happening outside. And there is construction going on at every angle. You can't escape it so there is no sleeping in (if you can even fall asleep). On the first night we requested a new room because the noise was so bad. They said they weren't able to switch rooms until the following day. They then put us on the 14th floor. This was initially fine since the street noise wasn't as noticeable. However, on Saturday night we came back to the room after dinner with the intention of packing for our early morning flight and going to bed early. Come to find out, they booked a party on the floor directly above us. After complaining they said that the music would be turned off at 1:00am. Um excuse me. I'd like to sleep before then. The hotel has signs up to keep noise down yet my entire room is vibrating and I can hear every word to the music. It's absurd. And the staff would rather us pack up and leave than turn the volume down. This place sucks. I could go on trust me. Save your money and stay far away. read more

The hotel itself was gorgeous. The rooms were nice, beds were comfortable, and the gym and pool facilities were very clean and beautiful. However, the customer service at this hotel nearly ruined my family's stay. When we checked in, they asked for a deposit, which is a very normal thing to ask for. It was $150 dollars for us, and we would get it back at the end of our stay. However, for whatever reason, my mother's card wasn't working. So, I just gave them my card, and the deposit was charged to my card. No big deal. But THEN, later on in the night, my mother checked her card balance, and discovered the Hotel HAD in fact charged her card for the $150, as well as my card! Now this was all right, because it's not that much money, so we went down there and asked them about it. They said that we would both get them money back at the end of our stay. So, we are both slightly angry, but not too angry. But, later that night, we discovered that along with the charge of $150, the Hotel had also COMPLETELY drained my mother's card. So now we are completely disgusted. Long story short, we FINALLY got my mother's money back after our stay, but I will NEVER stay at a Holiday Inn again. I am still waiting for the $150 deposit to come back to my account. read more
