This hotel is nothing fancy, it's small and cute. It's location is pretty great, it's within walking distance to Metro stations and bus stops (side note the transit system in Paris is awesome, trains and buses arriving every 3mins, don't be scared USE IT). Sacre Coeur is close as well as the Moulin Rouge, the cute cafe (Cafe de Deux Moulins) that Amelie was filmed at, and a lot of other cute shops and boulangeries.
The employees here were freakin awesome; Valentin, Katia and another dark haired girl who worked at night (didn't catch her name) were friendly and super helpful. They spoke excellent English and helped guide us to Metro stations and answered any questions we had. In fact I had made reservations to a restaurant but had to confirm once arriving in Paris and Valentin called for me since I don't speak French. We had a room facing the street so it was nice to open the windows and see all the people walking around and nice to look out to get an idea of what the weather was going to be like.
The room was cosy, it had a small refrigerator, a small closet, tv, and a "Handy" phone which is a regular cellphone you can take with you on your travels, which we used so much when we'd get lost or when trying to find hole in the wall shops, definitely came in handy - no pun intended. The bathtub was kinda weird because it had half a glass door which you could swing out, but because of the swinging part water always slipped through the crack and left huge puddles of water on the bathroom floor, we'd always have to lay towels on the floor after showering, maybe it was just our problem because we shower and don't bathe, but it was a bit of a nuisance.
Lastly, even though some books will say Montmartre may not be the safest place, don't believe it. It's actually more authentic than downtown because it's more residential, and we felt completely safe at all times of the day or night. read more
