Restaurant and bar on site is convenient but the only drawback is there is not a free breakfast offered as there is at most mid priced hotel chains in this area. I stayed not long ago for a business trip. Hotel is located a block away from the Main Street. Not far from the highway. Plenty of parking. I arrived for a decent timed check in and was helped promptly by the staff He was nice to provide me some tips about town and the hotel. He answered questions regarding the area. Elevator to my room was in decent order. The room assigned was a little bit a ways from the elevator which is good. The key to the room worked okay. Room and bathroom was recently remodeled. No bathtub but a nice clean oversized shower. Standard bathroom toiletries from the holiday inn express hots. The room temperature was a bit warm but worked correctly during my stay.The bed, fridge, microwave, iron, and coffee machine in the room was in good order. Fridge did a good job to keep groceries I had cold. worked. Mattress was not lumpy. Shower was the right temperature through my stay. I used the gym a few times. Some machines worked okay. Some of the remotes for the machines did not work correct therefore used the main tv. Some supplies needed to be refilled on one of times of use. There is a pool and/or spa that I didn't elect to use. There is a standard restaurant in the hotel. I didn't try it out. My room was cleaned consistently and correctly. My four night stay and bill was correctly delivered to me the last morning with no issues. Overall good service and nicely updated hotel. Nothing of the hotel was worth noting as an issue on this business trip. I would stay here again. read more

Nice hotel. Easy check-in and attentive staff. Rooms gave you the impression of being very well sanitized and cleaned. Good value for $99. Close to the freeway if you are looking for an easy off easy on choice. One concern.. Even though the staff were wearing masks. I saw more than one individual staying at the hotel that was not complying with the mask requirement. Do not stay here. Do not host an event here. I was in the bridal party of a wedding that hosted the ceremony AND the reception here as well as had enough guests to sell out the hotel. The staff was rude and did not seem to care how much money we were bringing to the company. They only set up 143 chairs for the ceremony, despite being told 250 people RSVP'd to the wedding. The next day, more chairs were still not set up and they told us that they would open the other doors if "that many people actually showed up". Come 3:50pm (ceremony starts at 4), doors were not open and 100 people were waiting in the lobby, leaving us to find a solution on our own. People got stuck in the elevator and it took them 2 hours to "find someone to fix it" (the fire department can show up in 30 mins or less) then refused to give a refund or anything else to make the situation better. The hotel is newer but the management is horrible. They sponsored a big swim meet in town, encouraged families to spend the extra money for breakfast but then didn't open the restaurant in time for swimmers and their families to actually eat before they had to be at the pool. We have been traveling for swimming for years and every hotel we have ever stayed at has started their breakfast early for swim families. My review has nothing to do with the average employee as the front desk worker went and asked her manager who told us no. read more

I can't really complain. The hotel was really conveniently located near broadway st which is where everything is. It is SUPER new, super nice, super clean, and super reasonable. The only two things that upset me were there was no refrigerator and they didn't give me any body wash. Just soap and conditioner and lotion. Check in was quick. No complimentary breakfast. No WiFi to room 423. Everything else was good, even the restaurant. But if you need WiFi for work, skip Holiday Inns, especially this one. Can't understand this when WiFi extenders are cheap. Makes one wonder if Holiday Inn, especially this one, really wants repeat business travellers. read more

Update: Stayed for 3 days July 11-14 and it was so much better. Booked through expedia and now do not honor hotel point accumulation. Just policy so not an issue. WiFi is spotty. Not carrying a lot of alcoholic beverages I like (Guinness, Jamison) but so much more organized. Upgrades TV options (DirectTv). Walls are thin, but for the price and location, it's on the higher end of lodgings. Would highly recommend for business travelers. So, it's not bad, but not good... it's a Holiday Inn.. What do you expect. I called the 800# to make a reservation and they dropped the reservation. Called the hotel and they made the accommodation, without the King sized bed. said the hotel was sold out Tuesday through the weekend (lesson learned. need to call the front desk and not some CS agent in India.) Well, room was at expected: lots of cable channels (thank God they carry BBC so I could catch up on Doctor Who), clean beds and ok bathroom. Nothing spectacular. Restaurant lacks enthusiasm... it was sad to walk by it and see the same guy drinking at the bar... by the reviews, probably only go there for breakfast. As for the rest of the trip... only time will see. Clean hotel and decent rates. read more

This hotel is probably the best option in town. The problem with it is consistency. My hubby has stayed here, almost 100 nights this year for work. Tonight he called me and notified me, on a Wednesday mind you, when he called room service to order his dinner, he waited on the phone For 15 minutes, only for him to be told, "sorry we are too busy to do that". So I'm not sure how they can get away with telling someone that. Ridiculous. read more

We booked a room for my cousin, who was here for a family reunion. We drove him over to the hotel and followed him to the room. OMG! The rooms had torn and scratched furniture. The carpet was badly stained and the bathroom floor had a layer of chalky grit on it. He called the front desk and asked if someone could come up and look at the floor, no one ever came! The comforter smelled of bad feet...it was disgusting! At the reunion, upon hearing of the gross hotel, our other cousin let him stay with him. There is NO HOLIDAY AT THIS INN!! read more

This place will do the job for one night, perhaps, but in my opinion this place fails when it comes to the details. For example, -during a winter visit, the entire 3rd floor hallway and stairwell reeked the scent of natural gas -the walls are quite thin (could actually here the next room's radio as well as conversation level talking.) -The bathroom was not always stocked with the complimentary items Overall, appealing rooms and amenities but lack a 100% customer service attitude. read more

This is for the restauant only (Tonys Too...silly name, the original Tonys closed). It is a sort of sports bar, lounge feel, unlike the original, and the food is fine. Nothing amazing, just middle of the road. Convenient to the interstate and shopping areas. read more

Three Yelp stars, for a hotel, is good (in my book). I would certainly stay here again if I found myself in the Quincy area. Pros: - Convenient location near WalMart, HyVee, and lots of places to eat (both dine-in and fast food). Quick hop onto the highway. - Front desk personnel were generally friendly and helpful, providing us with items from their own desk stash when we were in need. - Our room was very spacious! Lots of breathing room & space to walk around. A desk, desk chair, luggage rack, end tables, and even an extra table next to an armchair and ottoman! - Good shower with nice water pressure, adjustable stream nozzle, and sliding door. - Wifi is free, easy to access, and really pretty decent! This is really high on my list of priorities. - Vending machines near elevator. Extra bonus because they were Pepsi products! - Clean, free of any smoke smell, and with a neutral, modern aesthetic. - Restaurant was OK. We ate breakfast here, and everything was about average. Prices are pretty good, especially for a hotel, but the chocolate milk is quite strange. Cons: - Only one of the two telephones in our room worked. - There was a recess in the wall that housed a microwave and coffee supplies. Underneath the microwave was a blatant, empty space that once was home to a refrigerator. We REALLY could have used a refrigerator for the many times we had leftovers. - Bed was super roomy, but a bit rough on my back. - Minimal shelving space for toiletries in shower. - I didn't notice it during the day, but one night when I got up to use the bathroom, I could NOT get back to sleep due to the incredible noise of traffic outside. - I always put the "Do Not Disturb" sign on my hotel room door. I prefer not to have anyone entering my room for any reason. I'm also a neat person, cleaning up after myself, even in hotels. Usually when I place a trash can outside my door (bag tied up, as it is full and it is gross to leave the contents open for everyone passing by), it is taken by housekeeping and replaced with a new trash can with a fresh, clean trash bag. Unfortunately, upon doing that here, it was simply taken by housekeeping. It would benefit them to replace it, lest I litter all over the floor. Instead, I go out of my way to fetch a trash bag from the front desk and use an oversized bag without a can for the rest of my stay. Not the biggest of mishaps, just something I found rather annoying. read more

This is the worst hotel with the worst manager. She was unwilling to work with us on a situation. The whole thing was an act of God and not our fault at all. I have stayed in the area for the last three years and this was the worst experience by far. I even called corporate and they couldn't get her to help us out either. I will never stay here again and I would advise that you do not either. read more

The hotel appears to relatively new and has clean and tidy rooms. Good job on the housecleaning and courteous staff. Unfortunately the restaurant has a fair amount to be desired service wise, although the food is decent and the prices okay. There are a fair number of restaurants in the area within 1 to 2 miles, but nothing in close walking proximity. read more

The Holiday Inn Express at Quincy has been my go to hotel for my stays at Quincy. I have been working in the area for several month. This stay was for 2 weeks. I got one of the larger suites because of my lengthy stay. Yesterday I got a note under the door that some sort of non specific maintenance had to be done to my suite. They asked that I stop by the front desk to schedule this. I did so. Katie was the person that I spoke to. I explained to her that I have an irregular schedule and that I would notify them in the am when they could perform the maintenance. I was met with sarcasm, eye rolls and general rude behavior. I am an IHG elite spire level member. This hotel offers little in the way of amenities. The restaurant bathes all the food in garlic. There is no floor in the restaurant. Now the lovely front desk Katie has made me feel UNWELCOME. I would leave except for the points. With the travel industry in the toilet, you would think that people would go out of their way to be kind and to appreciate the guests that keep the hotel industry rolling. NOT KATIE ! read more

If I could have given this place zero stars, I would have. What you are about to read truly happened... My friend and I were the last reservations of the night to check in, or so we were told at 1230 when we checked in. Things were clicking right along until about 300 am when the phone rang in my friends room. It was the front desk clerk, who asked if we could help him out. Apparently, we were NOT the last reservation of the night. The clerk had given my friend someone else's room, as his reservation had never been confirmed. So now this unidentified guest is standing in the lobby while the clerk calls My friend to see if he can check out so the unidentified guest can have his room. At 300 am. Seriously. My friend said no, and the desk clerk didn't know what to do. He actually said "I don't know what I'm going to do". Seriously. I can't imagine that this unidentified guest, no matter how tired he was, would have wanted to climb in the bed that my friend had just spend the last 3 hours in. Ew. While I'm at it, the food sucked. Really sucked. Go somewhere else. read more

Terrible. I was a part of a group of 11. While the other parts of the group were served, somehow, my order was not delivered with the rest of the group. I was advised by the waitress that my order would be up in about 30 seconds. It wasn't. About 10 minutes later my Chicken Parmesan was delivered with a piece of black garlic bread laying on top of the Chicken Parmesan. I advised the waitress that I wanted a less burnt piece of garlic bread. I, frankly, couldn't believe that they would serve something looking this disgusting. I proceeded to cut into the Chicken Parmesan only discover it was a burnt as the toast on top. I called the waitress back and told her it was unacceptable. They offered alternatives, but I declined. The took the disgusting Chicken Parmesan off the tab and did comp a drink. I just have a hard time getting over that they would place a meal like this in front of customer. read more
