This woman was rude the second I walked in. As we were finishing our check in she told us we needed a $200 cash deposit to rent the room. Wtf is that about. After 2 hours of being there they accused us of smoking in the room. My husband doesn't smoke and she watched me walk outside several times to smoke. As this got progressively worse she said she took pictures of the room but wouldn't show us the pictures which tells me she's lying about it. She kept our 200 dollars which I think is illegal considering she has our credit card on file. I'm pretty sure she put it in her pocket. She didn't like us the minute we were pissed about the 200 cash deposit so she discriminated against us. Her coworker said she didn't smell cigarette smoke but she ignored that completely. I asked for her supervisors number she wouldn't give it. I asked for corporate number she gave me hotel number. She obviously doesn't want me to talk to anyone above her. Flat-screen TV, coffee maker, triple-secured doors, uniformed staff: these are not to be found. One gets the feeling that regular travelers make Althoff a regular stop. It is low-cost and ample. The desk had a chair but only two outlets were nearby, and they were used by the refrigerator and microwave, so using a computer there or making coffee would entail shifting things around. There was a regular outlet on each side of the bed; no USB ports so bring your own adaptor to plug in your chargers! Breakfast was not great, but I never rely on hotel breakfasts any more. Hot choices included biscuits, gravy (that may or may not have included meat?
