I loved my room. Bed was very comfortable as were silky sheets and comforter/pillows. Check in was fast and friendly. On a second stay for a convention we booked a king suite which was huge. This would of made a great hospitality room and we felt a little guilty we didn't share it as one but we are no longer night owls and need to be in bed by 10 pm. Both times rooms were quiet and comfortable. I'm new to using Holiday Inns and went to do a check in on the app but it wasn't working. They explained to me that if my room is t ready it won't work. Other apps for other hotels will let me ck in and they they let me know when my room is ready. I was there for a 3 day training. My first night there I met up with friends for dinner in the adjoining restaurant. A review was given for that restaurant. The remainder of my meals were catered for our group in the Convention center. I came back two weeks later for a Convention. We had up to 450 attendees. The banquet food for both my stays was fairly good, at my training we had breakfast, lunch and dinner. There was plenty of food and snacks served. The desserts were outstanding! Two out of three breakfast had eggs which I cannot eat but there was plenty of meat, potatoes and bread to make a meal. Only one lunch meal was not as good. It was a salad with sliced chicken breast and the chicken breast was dry and like it had been cooked for a couple days. Our other meals consisted of pork , chicken, salads and pastry. The waitstaff did an excellent job and were friendly and accommodating, This is a nice venue for groups/conventions. read more

Could we worse. I have an attention-to-detail type of eye and after a long tiring day it can be easy to knit pick everything, so I'll try to be fair. It could be worse. But it's not great if you like things clean and orderly. The lobby and hall ways were not swept. The covered portico entrance was littered with discarded cigarette butt and general debris. Inside the room, the air conditioner was loud and obnoxious, the toilet is incredibly small, built for toddlers. It's just old and worn out. On the other hand, thr bed is ok and pillows are nice. This place is quaint, peaceful and the bed and bedding are exquisitely comfortable. I got a room with a jacuzzi tub and was my best 'all time' bubble bath. We were greeted - as if they were happy to see us. Great customer service! I will return. read more

We stayed at the Holiday Inn - Stevens Point Conv Ctr as part of a group. We were in town for a hockey tournament. While making our reservation, I discovered that the website rate was less than the negotiated group rate. I'd recommended checking the prices online and with the hotel if you are making a group reservation. When we arrived, the front desk staff was very helpful. We did have to sign an additional agreement (as part of our group) that we would follow 2-pages of rules related to the hotel (quiet hours, alcohol, sports equip in the hotel, signage, etc). The hotel is clean and has modern finishes. Our family stayed in a family suite with a king bed and a separate twin bunk bed area. It was a great set-up for a family. The room also included a mini-fridge and microwave. We arrived mid-day on Friday. We planned to swim for the afternoon before the tournament began. However, the slide did not open until 5pm. We noticed that it was closed Monday - Thursday and limited hours on the weekend. read more

Afte 4 phone calls and assurances that a room would likely be ready by 1:30 to get ready for a wedding we arrived. I had 2 rooms booked with the wedding block. Luckily, 1 room was ready when we pay an extra $25 for early arrival fee or join their club they'll waive the fee. So joined. They didnt feel a need to mention this in the previous phone calls. So we get up to the floor and the cleaning staff says the other room is ready. So back down to the desk to inform them. Rudely told by desk attendant and head of house keeping that it would be checked when she got a minute. Well, I guess it never did get inspected by the housekeeping boss since there was still peanuts on the floor. Next, they overcharge us and have to correct that. The way this business treats their employees borders on criminal. New paperwork to fill out, no explanation of what it is or what needs to be attached, then 6 people get terminated via email with no notice. The facility also has maintenance issues with mold and water damage due to the poorly designed flat roof. read more

Overall, the hotel was nice. One star due to lack of cleaning and responsiveness. I noticed hair in my shower (not mine) and when I went to take a whirlpool bath, there was dirt in the tub. Next day room was never cleaned, stopped by the front desk in the mid-afternoon to inquire and was told they would send someone up to tidy the room. Returned in the evening to have nothing done. Called again and they dropped of towels, nothing else. When asked about shampoo, coffee, etc they said they would talk to their manager. read more

Clean and surprisingly quite for a hotel with a convention halls attached. Set up well to keep all the people away from the rooms. Like the pool (and hot tub) only bad thing is it to can be a long walk through the hotel to get there. Reasonable rates for a H Inn. Heard from another guest that you can get some great deals (like 1/2 price) when you "negotiate" on Priceline. Great place to take kids - has a big waterslide with lifeguards. read more

Very, very disappointed! We booked here on the basis that they had a"waterpark" for our kids! We paid $120 to stay here based on this ADVERTISED amenity; Only to get here to find out the SINGLE WATERSLIDE is only open on the weekend...Friday evening through Sunday early afternoon. What a SCAM! When we presented to the kid who was working at the front desk he cpuld careless, his response was well it's on OUR website..we can't control what 3rd party websites don't list. My girlfriend and I had a great time there, we couldn't stay on the 14th, so we stayed the weekend after. The room that we had gotten (Room 257, the room with the spa tub in it) was kind of miss leading. Because there was a door between the main room and the spa tub its self. But we where completely ok with that. And the bathroom door didn't want to stay open when we where going in and out. I do not know if that was part of the design or not, it was annoying at time, trying to get water for coffee and just to get a drink of water. Other then that, we both had a great time! read more

This place used to be better. Its still a decent option if you have to stay in Stevens Point, but they could keep common areas cleaner, pool towels run out and since they sell passes to the community for the pool you can get crowding due to that . The hot tub isnt really very warm either. We had moved over here during our stay from the holiday inn express acorss the street , only to find these rooms smaller, the facility less clean and the staff frankly not too concerned about any issues or problems. There isnt a swimming pool persay that you can swim in , but rather a basketball pool and waterslide and a kiddie pool ..the hot tub is very large which was nice, until you step in and realize its not hot. At least the tiny hot tub at the express was hot. read more

This is one of the worst places in town we had a natral disaster and this place room rate are normaly 95 a nite sun threw thurs raised there room rates to 350 a night because the knew the desprate people would pay it. We stayed an extra night on vacation and had to stay at the Holiday Inn Express. It had its own private entrance. The beds were comfotable. The rooms were nice. It was clean and had a flat screen TV. The employees were very nice and helpful. read more

We stayed her for a New Year's day stay with our children. I was surprised to see that the room was the same cost as a "budget" hotel in the Rapids, where we were originally going. Since the pool here is so much nicer, we stayed here instead. It's worth the extra 30 minutes. The room is really nice. Parking is easy peasy. The pool is surely the best in the area. The only thing I will mention is that the pool area is a bit small for the number of people that could be inside. I would say there were 30 people in the pool area and most of the tables were gone. I could imagine it would be really packed for a weekend event. If your children can't swim, the pool at the bottom of the slide might be too deep. Our 8 year old son can't quite swim yet and the water was over his head. He just played water basketball the whole time. If you have to head to Plover, Rapids, or Point, there's probably no better hotel. read more

I travel quite a bit for work. Hotels have pretty much the same features -- bed, TV, etc. What sets good hotels apart from the rest is the staff. The front desk staff at the HI SP is superior to most. They bright and cheerful when you walk in. I always get a warm "hello" or "how are". Even better is how capable they are. Every time I check in it's quick and efficient and done in a minimal amount of time. I appreciate this because I usually arrive late in the evening and I don't care much for staff that doesn't know what they're doing and wasting my time. I don't find that at this Holiday Inn. Plus, I've found the front desk staff to be very helpful in recommending restaurants or directing me to stores for items I may needs. A good start always makes the stay better. read more

The Holiday Inn in Stevens Point was a welcome sight while driving during a snow storm. The front desk gal was friendly and professional. The lobby was clean and decorated for the holidays. It was warm and inviting. The room we were given had a king size bed that was very comfortable. Pillows were also comfortable. Internet was reliable and easy to access. I thought the bathroom was small but was cut was clean. Bath towels were a good size. The snow stopped some time during the night. The parking lot was plowed and sidewalks were shoveled by the time we left. Would definitely stay there again. Great value for the price. read more

I had a convention at the hotel. I specifically told the representative that I was attending a conference. IHG screwed up my hotel reservation. I was supposed to stay 6-8 April but IHG inputted the dates as 5-7 April. Not only did I get charged for an extra night but they over booked the hotel and I couldn't get a room for the 8th. I tried to correct the situation. The assistant GM at the front desk stated they couldn't do anything since I called the 1800 number to originally book the room. I called IHGs customer care line. What a joke. I was on the phone with their customer service for over an hour. They called the front desk multiple times. The front desk lied and claimed I accepted the charges. After talking to 5 different reps they couldn't reverse the charges. This is the second time I had issues with this hotel. IHG has failed me again. When we arrived, there was nothing but an open and used bar of soap, stuff leftover from the previous guests, and hair covered, unclean sheets. We only went with this hotel EXPECTING a water slide but learned it was listed in extremely fine print it's only open on weekends. We rented a guest room with a jacuzzi, and the whole room smelled of mold and cigarettes, and the bottom of tub had hair and grime inside. Plus, the jets do not turn off and instead spray viciously in your face. they also charged our account multiple times for hundreds of dollars more and had to call the bank to fix the issue. the vending machines do not work and took my money, and then gave me the wrong drink. to top it all off, there was a bucket of feces covered plunger outside my door NOT for my room. rooms are pretty at least. read more

I attended a work seminar this week and not only did the hotel double book our banquet rooms ( Big thanks to UW Stevens Point for accommodating us) but my room was disgusting! It took me three trips to the front desk over the course of 14hrs to have my shower properly cleaned (had a hairy, used bar of soap on the ledge), dirty sock under the bed skirt and garbage behind my night stand. The housekeepers were quite rude as well. I will not only never stay at this hotel again, I will make sure none of my family or friends do either. read more

Really nice rooms and VERY clean. I slept like a baby the night I was there on business. Very convenient since my conference was downstairs. Linens were really nice. Check-in and check out was very fast and efficient. One minus is for no tea bags, shampoo and conditioner in room. I stayed over Christmas to visit my sister. Christmas morning a tiny stocking was hung on my door, which was a very nice touch. The room was quite large, but the TV didn't work. I mentioned this on checkout and the manager made it right on the final bill which was beyond what I expected. This place is big, and they've got the right attitude in regards to customers. I stayed here for one night on a business trip to the Stevens Point/Wausau area. I booked only a day earlier, redeeming a free night from my Priority Club card. I was pleasantly surprised by how clean, spacious and absolutely relaxing my room was! I had a suite on the third floor - an enormous room with a fireplace, in-room jacuzzi, huge bathroom, mini kitchen area, and a large, comfy bed king-size bed. It was great to relax in the jacuzzi after a long day (and lots of travel!). I didn't even leave my room until I had to check out!!!! (If I hadn't been scheduled to give a talk at 9am, I would have relaxed in that room until a much later time.) The staff at check-in and check-out were friendly and it was relatively quiet in that room all evening and early morning. There was some noise of children running up and down the hallways for a while in the evening hours, but it wasn't audible if the TV was on. There is also a desk area in this room, but the only drawback of this space is that the desk surface is too high for the adjustable chair, which ironically, doesn't go high enough to reach the correct height to type on a laptop on that desk. It's a small drawback, though, and I solved the problem by grabbing my iPad (in its waterproof case!) and doing my work in the jacuzzi!!!! Quick and easy solution! I would highly recommend the Holiday Inn Conference Center hotel. read more

I normally am not a huge fan of Holiday Inn but usually they are clean and work for my family. This Holiday Inn was different. This Holiday Inn had excellent service, was modern, reasonably priced and all in all was a great place to stay. The room we got was a standard room with a king size bed and a sleeper sofa. The bed was great and the pillows were nice too. I was especially impressed with the bathroom, the shower in particular. The shower was very nice with granite sides and a really good shower head. The pool was actually a mini water park that was good for my son but not so much for swimming. The hot tub was nice too. I would highly recommend this and it will definitely be on my list of places to stay in Stevens Point, Wi. read more

I stayed here for business for a whole week and when you are there long enough, you can easily nit pick and find things wrong. Not here, I think everything was fantastic! Breakfast including everything, my favorite was that handy pancake maker. The fluffy comforter was great and the pillows were perfect. Too expensive-- I was looking to reserve a room block for my wedding. The reasons I did not go with Holiday Inn is because their rates were (about $30) higher than other local hotels, and they charged to give guests gift bags. Also, they don't offer a free room for bride and groom for booking a certain number of guests (whereas other local hotels did). I decided I wanted to save my guests (as well as myself) some money and blocked rooms elsewhere. However, I do think my guests would have been satisfied at Holiday Inn, and I actually did have a one guest book at Holiday Inn, and she was satisfied with her stay. read more

Hands down the best hotel I have stayed at for business travel. They completely nailed the three things that are most important to me--it was clean, quiet and comfortable. The lobby is spacious, yet very warm and inviting. Any of the staff that I encountered were friendly and professional. My room was impeccably clean and nicely appointed.
