I visited this home as my dad has been staying there and I live out of state. I was so pleasantly surprised by everything they had to offer. The manager, Adriana, gave my husband and I a tour of the entire place. It was so clean and organized, and she and the staff could not have been any friendlier! Adriana showed us their demo room for their one bedroom, living room and kitchen apartment and I could not believe the value this place has to offer! She showed us the many different activities they have for entertainment, the gym, the pool, the dining area, the areas where residents can meet with family. Loved seeing the art work the residents made on display and just the details of how they do everything they can to make them happy. I could see how proud she was of her facility and how much she and the staff care for their seniors. As we walked along, the residents would call Adriana by name and strike up conversations and you could just feel the warmth and how the love was reciprocated. I went away knowing that she cares for her residents and runs a tight ship. I would very highly recommend this facility to anyone who is looking for a great place for their loved one! read more

No one living in the apartment it became integrated with cockroaches ants & bed bugs!! I had to get rid of many of her things. After we moved her out they illegaly bank drafted her rent!! I lived at Montana Meadows on E. Tropicana Ave. In Las Vegas for 11 months. We moved there from Texas and the woman who was the manager at that time LIED and MISREPRESENTED virtually everything. She showed Montana Meadows to our friends because we were s9 far away. My friends are lunch and toured the facility. Tammy showed them one apartment which was lovely. When we arrived two months later, she assigned us a completely different apartment. We told her we were coming in May and she agreed that our rent would begin in May. But upon arriving in May, she started billing us for March and April, months we were still in Texas. My friend was on the conférence call, so she heard and witnessed everything. The food Montana Meadows served to my friends was good. But when we got there, the food was substandard. They even served me a taco salad with frozen meat. In the 11 months we lived there, my husband lost 40 pounds because he could not tolerate their food. We had no choice but to buy food at a local grocery store which increased our living expenses by almost $500 per month. There was no security at Montaro Meadows and our car was broken into. It cost us over $1,000 to fix our car. There are homeless people camped out behind the buildings and residents are not safe there. We finally got out. It took us 11 months to save the money we needed to move. Montana Meadows is a horrible place to live. They say it's "Independent Senior Living" but it's a warehouse facility where people go to die. Don't go there!!! It's a terrible place to live. read more

I am Jewish and I think the general manager Tammy hates Jewish people. She is scapegoating me somebody made fun of my disability this morning and I had no recourse. Vicky was eavesdropping intruded into my conversation with Kevin and started yelling at me and I got in trouble she actually mocked my disability. She doesn't know anything she only thinks she does she is as dumb as a door but they listen to her. People are deceived when they first come in that this is a nice place and then when they're here a while they see what it is really like. It is horrible and dirty and vicious. The rent goes up exponentially. They just like to suck all of peoples money out of them. read more

We live at Montara Meadows in Las Vegas. We pay $2884 for a small one bedroom apartment. Our rent should include 3 meals a day, but most of the time, the food is inedible. Two days ago, we had chicken breast with vegetables. Everything on my plate was stone cold. The chicken was so tough that I could not cut into it. I was sitting at a table with two other women. Their plates were just like mine. In disgust and frustration, all three of us left our food untouched and left the dining room. Montara Meadows advertises that they have a hair salon on site. True, there is a room equipped as a hair salon, but in the five months we have lived here, there has been no one staffing the salon so residents have no choice but to go off-site. I cannot lift my arms without a plot of pain, so I cannot wash my own hair. And so I go a few miles away for this service. Many residents live on 2nd and 3rd floor apartments. The elevator in the Aspen Building is out of order. It has been for the last two days. That particular elevator is out of order most of the time. My friend Jeannie is wheelchair bound. This is a great mid priced assisted living and retirement home The staff members here are amazing and exceptional and are patient and efficient and friendly, especially Tammy and Christina. Grandmother was on her way out of this facility, however new person started name Adrianna she is extra happy nothing but good comments about her and how she is making she difference with all residents including my grandmother which I really appreciated, no need to look for a new place. I really encourage management team to keep this new person and keep working to make the difference on their lifestyle with more outside activities and extra driving schedules since a lot of times she is not able to attend doctors appointments due to the shortage with transportation provided by the company read more

Afer weeks ago I wrote a glowing review about this place and our experiences with the signing up process. Since my friend has moved in, there are some changes that I would be remiss if I did not include. First, we signed up in February to get the current promotion. We made it clear that she would not be moving in until March. Her actual move in date was March 25th, but she paid for the whole month anyway. When the April rent bill was presented, it was $81 overcharged. They told us that it was because in order to get the promotion, we had to be in by the last day in March. This was NEVER told to us, only that we had to sign up by the end of February. There were 3 people listening to the pitch and we all came away with the same understanding. We were also never given a copy of the contract. Second, transportation is not as promised. They said she could go on shopping trips. The only shopping trip the bus provides is across the street to Walmart. She has not tried the doctor's office yet. Third, one of the selling points was the on site beauty salon. During the tour, they never mentioned that that would be discontinued. She was never able to use it. That greatly decreases the convenience of this place. The apartment is comfortable. The main reason for the low rating is the intentional deception and misleading presentation. This place could be great with proper management and a lot more honesty. This rating could go back up with a little work. read more

I have been in search of an apartment for my grandmother for awhile. I stopped in to Montara Meadows and immediately felt welcomed. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted right away. I had some questions about the apartment layouts, food options, and activities they may do. Christina was in the front and answered all the questions I had. Any questions that I had as we were talking, she answered. Tammy then took me on the tour around the facility. She showed me around and told me about each room they had inside the main building. She explained the dining room and how service would work during meal times. I was very impressed with the staff I encountered. Being that I just walked in, i'm so glad they helped answer any questions and took me on a tour. This is a great facility and i'm so happy I found them. Once again, I am writing a review for Montara Meadows. I always compliment the great staff here. Today I want to pay another compliment. My kitchen sink faucet started to leak. Drip, drip Annoying and wasteful. Yesterday afternoon I told the front desk person about it. He wrote it up right away and said they would get on it. Being a Saturday I figure sometime next week, right? This morning my doorbell rings and there is the maintenance person with a new faucet and it was installed in just a few minutes. And on a Sunday? Yes. That is the kind of service I get here and it sure beats having to do it myself. Thank you to all the staff again for all you do for the residents here. read more

Having lived there from March 1, 2018 - April 1, 2018, I can honestly say "it's a combination of an assisted living community and a mental institution." Guess it's too expensive to live in either of those places, so as long as you can make it by any means possible from your unit to the main club house...you qualify. Don't get me wrong, however...I did meet a lot of truly wonderful men and women at MM and they'll always have a special place in my heart, but it's not what I'd describe as "independent" living by any stretch. Since moving into a REAL independent 55+ apt. complex, I've learned the difference over the past 11 months! That being said...if you decide to move into MM, beware of the mandatory THREE MONTH contract you must sign. Because I moved to MM from 2,000 miles away, I had no way of knowing what kind of area MM was located in nor what it was really like, until I had signed and agreed to pay for the first 90-day's knowing it was NON-REFUNDABLE...unless I died. Since I had no car, I depended on walking to various stores in the area MM is located and soon realized it is located in one of the oldest, poorest, most run-down, area of Vegas - East Tropicana! I never felt safe walking around in that area during the day, so going out of the gates at night really scared me! :( After the first two weeks, I was ready to leave, but it took my family and I another 2 weeks to find a newer, safer, independent apt complex for me to live in a more upscale, safe neighborhood with a bank, grocery store, doctor, dentist, hair salon, restaurants, etc., all within 5-10 mins walking distance...and we found just the place in Summerlin! :) The bad news was I lost $7,000 ($7K) when I left after the 1st month at MM because I was getting so depressed and lonely, I didn't want to live any more. However, because I had signed the 90-day lease agreement, I had to pay the rent for the 2 months I was no longer there but in addition to that....I had to pay the entire year's worth of home owner dues! That's for the upkeep on the common areas! Of course, I didn't mind having to pay for the 2 months I was no longer in my unit, but to have to pay over $1,000 for the entire year's maintenance in addition to that was extremely hard on me since I only had my social security income period! That's why I'm very bitter and angry about what they did to me but it wasn't MM's fault...it was their home office that enforced this 90-day lease agreement....just so you know MM didn't create this nightmare contract...it was HOLIDAY RETIREMENT that did! :( None of the apt. buildings have been updated since construction in the 1970's and REEK of decades of smoking. The apt. bldgs. need to have all furniture & carpeting removed to get rid of the stench! So, let me just say that you need to make 100% sure that you can handle living here a minimum of 90-days NO MATTER WHAT because if you move out before that period is over....and MM cannot find anyone to move into your unit during that time....you will also pay $7,000 and there isn't a darn thing you can do about it! And if all this wasn't bad enough....just before I moved out of MM, someone got into my unit and stole my small box of jewelry! It was all I had left from my entire life and NONE of it was valuable! It was 100% sentimental in value...nothing more. I don't think it's a good idea to have all the maintenance men and the entire cleaning staff with keys to your living quarters. You can trust 99% of them but it's the 1% that are liars and thieves. So, you also need to know that a LOT of people have keys to your unit if you live in MM. Sorry, if this upsets anyone....but I was fooled by their website photos and the glowing stories I read about it AND the fact the mgmt. in the Vegas MM location were so nice to me....now I wished I had never heard of this place since it cost me $7K to live in that place 30 days! Nothing personal against the MM staff! They were super nice to me, but I also think that when women work at the front desk of a place like this, they should have a MODEST DRESS CODE! I found it to be in very poor taste to walk into the MM lobby and to see a woman behind the counter exposing so much of her body.....that is totally the wrong place and the wrong time for that but that's just my opinion as a conservative person. You will love the kitchen staff and the maintenance staff and the house cleaning staff however....I actually grew very fond of them too and at least a dozen or so residents who I really grew to care about............ especially the three Japanese gals! :) If, however, you can't afford a real asst. living center or a mental institution, then this is the place for you just before you HAVE to go to one of those other places. Sadly 1 star is too much. I had my precious family members move there. Tammy Hernandez assisted us with signing everything, there after the GM is horrid. The gate keepers (front desk personnel) are nice and helpful but clearly work too hard. The few times I asked to speak with Tammy they try to gently open the door... the woman is sleeping.. texting... goofing off with other back office staff.. When it comes to us and our family members she is rude, the only time she comes out of her office is past breakfast and lunch to get the free food. I have left many messages for her... she doesn't call back. Her office is so welcoming and soo many motivational quotes. She is terrible. She makes promises to get you in there and then doesn't follow thru. All people that I spoke with that work there and that live there complain about her and her there lack of performance. I don't understand why she simply doesn't get fired by new ownership. Everybody is scared of her because of her seniority. At HMM there are many amazing people that work there... turn around is terrible... moral is terrible, food quality has declined and rent is going up. this place seemed nice till my grandfater passed away. and actually both sides of my family, mother's and father's partents have lived here. but on the passing of my grandpa putterman the worst thing ever happened. so my grandfather dies and were in the process of moving his stuff outta the apt well that night one of the maintenance workers or staff uses their key to enter the apt and stole a large portion of his gold coin collection and a rare jewish bible. what sick people. we filed police reports etc but the cops didnt help much in this situtation all i can say is stay away, if you lookin into to having you family memebers stay here DONT THEY ROBBED MY GRANDFATHER RIGHT AFTER HE PASSED AWAY I STILL TO THIS DAY DONT FORGET WHAT HAPPENED MONTARA MEADOWNS!! read more

This company took of $450.00 from me to hold an apartment for my Grandma and they kept the deposit and took 2 months to return my deposit after I never signed a lease for my Grandma and decided to go with another place!!! When everything was completed the Montara Meadows rep was unable to help me and referred me to Corporate office in Oregon. You have to tell Corporate in Oregon on them to get some action. read more
