Tried searching for…read moreevery place near me, leaving voice-mail after voice-mail, but couldn't get through to anyone until... until I managed to locate Iron Horse Guest Ranch. Nestled in close to the Renaissance Fair and downtown Magnolia, this was the perfect place; close to our home. Setting up the appointment for a lesson was quick and painless; used facebook messenger to work out the best time. Prices varied, depending on the type of lesson, were very reasonable, and all proceeds went back to the horses on the ranch. I would quickly learn that everyone is a volunteer, as this home is for horses rescued & rehabilitated from someone the harshest circumstances. We arrived to meet with Niki, owner and operator. She was an amazing guide and teacher. She and her son helped explain everything to my wife and I prior to mounting our amazing rides; Gunner & Hershey. They were both very patient with our questions, taking safety very important. Best part of the experience was enjoying the ride without having to take any photos. Niki did all of this for us without having to worry, and sent us all of the amazing pics after the ride. All and all, the hour or two we spent here was very special and we will soon not forget it. Highly recommend a visit if in town for a visit, or even living close by. Helping these amazing animals was the best thing ever!

Finally made it out to Blue Lagoon in Huntsville, Texas. Vis was 10-15ft due to recent rain. 68° at…read morethe surface and 64° bottom temp at 25ft. They have an underwater rope course you can use to navigate from one side to the other. The waters color and clarity come from its origin. It was originally a Limestone Rock Quarry. Spring water has filled it up making this a good dive location. Another feature I found to be very cool for instructors is the large underwater decks. These are part of the course and make a great place to perform dive skills without disturbing the silt on the bottom. My dive site had an easy entry and exit. The depth ranges depending on the amount of rain throughout the year. This is a great place to teach new students, practice your skills, or train as a dive team. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Being this was my first time here they answered all of my questions.

I have always been curious about this place. Today I finally got the chance to go. I am not a diver…read moreso my perspective is limited to swimming. 1. I kept thinking when I was there that the city of Huntsville or some wealthy person should buy this place and fix it up. It has so much potential. Right now it is "rustic". Roads unpaved, covered picnic areas falling apart. It's a shame. 2. The water itself is like lake water. It's ok but not as lovely as pictures seen online. I kept thinking...at least no alligators! The term BLUE lagoon is misleading. 3. I understand that this is primarily a scuba diving place. But the attitude in phone calls and the employees was like you were second class Citizen if you were a "swimmer". Finally, I was the only one there! I guess $30 is way too much for what you get here. I enjoyed my swim but I will not return is

A little PSA to anyone living in their camper: steer clear of Galloping Snails RV Park in Bryan,…read moreTx. The managers communication skills are non-existent. Long story, but let me paint you a picture. On May 13 we began looking for somewhere to call home in Bryan, Tx. We sent a message to Galloping Snails RV Park asking prices, other general questions, and confirming our baby gate was going to be allowed. This is a must for us with 2 under 2 (one of them being a toddler that tends to run). Pictures are included of these messages approving our baby gate (by the manager). Fast forward to Nov. 21, I found a letter (pictured below) taped to our door that stated we had 24 hours to remove this baby gate or we would be evicted for not following listed rules. In response, we spoke with management, showed them the prior approval we received for this item (from them), and showed them the rules and regulation page straight from their website (which made no mention of having a "pet fence" as they called it). This is all pictured below. The manager stated he would speak with the owner and tell him all of this information, and that he would be in touch with the owner's response. We never received an update, so we assumed it was approved. Fast forward to December 8, I found yet another letter taped to my door stating we had 3 days to evict for not following previous requests to remove the baby gate. Attached to the eviction notice was a very aggressive and ugly hand written note from the property manager (pictured below). This note states we were told at the time we moved in that the gate was not allowed and we chose to put it up in spite (again we had written prior approval for this gate). We were never told we could not have it up. The note also states we took our gate down at one point then later in the weeks put it back up in spite. This gate has been up since the day we moved in. There are cameras all over the park to prove this. The manager states at one point that I called my dog "protective and aggressive" when she (the note says he-my dog is a girl) got out of our camper without knowledge. If you've ever met my dog, you would know she is the furthest thing from aggressive. No one has ever described my dog in this way (especially me). We had just gotten home from a trip so we were unloading the camper (she states that I said my husband was in the shower-he was not and I never said this-we were unloading). With all of our moving around our dog got out accidentally and wandered out to find us. I returned her to the camper immediately. Along with many other lies that are being told through this letter, the thing about it that concerned me is the aggressive way she told us not to contact her or her husband. At this point, it was very clear she was beyond reasoning with. At the end of the day, the communication in this matter was not handled the way it should have been. Instead of simply asking us to take the gate down because other tenants were having issues with it (we would have understood this), we were given a notice to vacate or we would have the police called on us. Before this notice, the property managers never made mention of this gate to us. This whole situation went from 0 to 100 in no time at all. And it was over something as silly as a baby gate ("pet fence" as they prefer to call it) and bad communication. No matter how our stay here ended, we are happy to be out. If you ever find yourself in the area, please be cautious. The property managers are kind to your face and sneaky behind your back. They tack on "fines" to your monthly bills without warning and will do anything to help themselves look good.
