We made new friends with the ladies seated at the table next to ours. The Ink House is hosting another one in December and I'll be back for sure. I was impressed with the event space, but there's no wedding, anniversary or any other special occasion that I could celebrate here. I wish the owner had let us know there was a wedding and reception next door during our stay, so we could have decided whether to endure this late-night disruption. A refund or discount would have been a nice form of compensation for this unexpected disruption, but nothing was offered. Lesson learned.

The Cherub Room (smaller space) has no windows, white walls, tiled floors, a Greek Revival sort of aesthetic that, even with imported floral displays, is just a little too stark for me. This weekend, I was there for a fundraiser in the smaller room while a reception was taking place in the larger. The food was good, but the buffet service was about 15 minutes behind schedule getting started (it must be difficult to serve two large rooms at approximately the same time). Bill was especially helpful in greeting people at the door, directing them to the proper space, and in helping with our audio-visual set up.

The breakfast buffet in the morning is, quite possibly, the BEST and nicest we have seen at a hotel in a LONG time. I can't imagine what else they could do to make it more appealing! The halls are quiet and calm, you can't hear any noise from rooms on either floor. The pool is indoors, and it is clean, doesn't burn your eyes whatsoever, and it doesn't take you out from chemicals when you walk in. The gym is really nice, and I loved having a spot to relax that was just for me. I would absolutely stay at this hotel again. If you are traveling and need a nice, calm, yet fun (pooll and gym) place to stay, I say this is your place! Great Day St. Louis was doing a live broadcast promoting, the centennial of Route 66. The program was not only informative, but entertaining as well. I enjoyed seeing the old theatre that now host, concerts, comedians, movies and a variety of other activities. Seeing the old concession stand, plaques on the walls and the vintage decor added to my flashback of the good ole days. Seeing the second floor as an event space was super cool.
