I Do not understand why this Resort has so many positive reviews, as for when i visited with my son Timothy (Timmy for short), a great deal of events took place. Last winter i experienced this, but the cold air returning brought back the trauma and im finally not scared to share my experience anymore, i deserve justice. Last winter, the date i remember, December 20th, at 3:17pm. I Was skiiing with my little boy Timothy (timmy for short). It was a fairly busy day, so in the crowd i didnt see the massive lumpy and bumpy rotund beast of a woman that traumatized my baby, Timothy (Timmy for short). Continuing my story time, I finally let go of my fears and allowed Timothy (timmy for short) to go down the hill on his own, without me his beloved mother. I watched from the bottom of the hill as he went down the hill, i was recording as well which is how i got the footage below. As i was watching him skii down, half way down some large rotund sausage fingered beast of a woman or man i couldnt tell, shot down the hill. Thanks to gravity, her heavy weight made her accelerate much faster than my poor Timothy (timmy for short) and i shouted for him to move as quickly as i could, but he had no time to move before that elephant came stampeding on him, and knocked him over. I ran up to her as she came rolling down, the snow a whole wave behind her. I was yelling various profanities, such as "obese lard washed up whale", before i quickly realized she was not slowing down at all. As she did my son, she crushed me as well. I went rolling, and fell into a tree well. As i fell down, the snow surrounding the pit fell onto me and quickly covered me. I was in there for hours before my ex husband, Ronnie, dug me up, unaware it was me, but that's for another day. all im saying is this resort has caused me nothing but emotional anguish, and after this visit which was supposed to be a vacation mind clearing getaway, ive been left with more things to think about as i try to sleep at night due to my crippling insomnia. Holiday Valley - Golf Near Me - Ellicottville, New York

Holiday Valley is the best "local" ski resort (in my case local means a 3 hour drive each way). I am willing to make the drive since Holiday Valley provides a great ski day. The resort has 750 feet of vertical, but it skies much bigger than that, the large variety of slopes and challenges provides a rich experience. Parking at Holiday Valley is free, but on a busy day you may have a bit of a walk, especially if you are heading to the Main Lodge, but you can park at one of the other 2 base lodges, they are smaller but still very nice. My biggest complaint at the Main Lodge is that you will encounter a couple of sets of stairs to get to the slopes. Inside the lodge there are plenty of seating, bathrooms, rentals, ski shops and the usual ski lodge food. The Tannenbaum Lodge does provide a couple of rooms where you can leave your bags and bring your own food, which is very convenient. From the Main Lodge you have 2 primary lift choices, Cindy's Quad and the Mardi Gras Express; both keep the lines moving at a good pace and allow you access to the rest of the resort. The lift system overall works well to keep you moving and the lines at a reasonable level. This year Holiday Valley has gone to a RFID lift ticket which was a bit challenging to find the right location for the card to consistently activate the gates, once I figured it out it was pretty smooth. Holiday Valley offers plenty of challenge and with its location in the lake effect snow belt it usually gets great snow coverage. On my recent day trip I found the skiing better than my earlier trip to Lake open runs like Mardi Gras to rollicking narrower trails through the woods. The Black trails are always welcome with Champagne, Yodeler and Edelweiss usually worth multiple runs. Typically, 1 or 2 of these will have one side groomed and the other side moguls. There are plenty of glade tree skiing runs and a couple of terrain parks off of the Morningstar Express Lift. They even have a Double Black Diamond run, although it was not open this trip. For my most recent visit I took advantage of the Cabin Fever Days promotion to get a $25 lift ticket at selected ski shops; plenty of other people also took advantage of the promotion so it was busy for a Tuesday. Conditions were great, almost the whole resort was open. After a nice morning of skiing the Blue and Black runs, I did feel so good that I skied some of the moguls and took a few runs through the Happy Glades which is the first time I have been tree skiing in several years. I also did take a short midday stop at the Tannenbaum Lodge for a quick warm up. Holiday Valley consistently receives high marks as one of the best resorts in the East, it also gets more skier visits than any other resort in New York. I have been skiing Holiday Valley for more than three decades and I always have a great time. The drive there and back can be challenging at times, but that just means the resort is getting plenty of snow. If you are looking for a great day of skiing Holiday Valley should be on your list. In addition, the town of Ellicottville is a charming ski town and Salamanca offers a full-service Casino and resort. read more

WOW this ski resort blew me away, as it has everything you will need to enjoy your skiing experience. They have tons of ski equipment/snowboarding, a large cafeteria on the second floor, daycare service, and a cool little bar. I'm still taking back at how nice all the skiers were. Basically everyone welcoming you to sit at their table while eating, and helping when they see you're in distress. I'd like to call that unity. You could see large groups of friends, couples, families with small children and solo skiers all having the time of their life. I was impressed that you could safely leave your skis outside on the rack and no one bothered them. That doesn't happen in Columbus, Ohio. lol This lodge is something you would see out of a magazine as it is magnificent in every way. My favorite was the large, second floor outside patio area with comfy chairs to sit and rest in between racing down the slopes. Just a place to kick back and catch your breath, and it's right off of the bar area, how convenient is that? On the first level, there is a huge locker room area with digital lockers, where you'll see everyone either bundling up or stripping down. In the cafeteria on the second floor, like I mentioned before has a huge array of delicious items to refuel your system. As you walk in the dining area, you will see a huge room with wraparound windows and I could not even tell you how many tables and chairs, and an enormous fireplace....which was a bit too warm for my liking, but I just took off a few layers and I was fine. On the first floor adjacent to the bottom of the slope, you will find a very toasty warm Starbucks offering not only their signature coffees and snacks, but also a wall of alcohol, alcoholic beverages, along with whiskey. Guess you gotta stay warm somehow. They also have a large glass ice water tower for those that want to pop in and get a quick hydrate before heading back out. And the slopes... unbelievable!!!! You literally have so much to choose from. And they are all meticulously cared for. Lastly, they have ski lessons on hand for the beginners. Have been spending the last week learning to snow board here and spending time with really good friends! I've personally been having a blast. I definitely recommend folks to come here and give it a shot! My only complaint is I wish they had more open areas so newcomers can practice. Holiday Valley is not concerned with customer service. The people at the desks are cold and unhelpful. Some lady's only job is to yell at skiers to walk around the rental building instead of cutting through. Most ski resorts make the rental process unnecessarily difficult so I won't fault them for that. No one updates when the Mountain coaster or tubing is open online- it says it's closed online and then we see that it's open when we are there. It would've been nice to have that in our plans. read more

Looking for anyway to take your money, I purchased an ultimate flex pass, used it once. Misplaced the card, and now they are telling me to buy a new pass, and can't print me a new card. Walked up to my group for my lesson and was completely ignored. The boomer instructor did not even acknowledge me, he asked everyone for their name, skipped me, told everyone to follow him, and then took off. I was standing with the group, directly in front of the instructor making eye contact. It was so, so bizarre. It was like I was invisible. read more

DISCLAIMER: This review is based only on the experience of visiting during fall fest not on anything to do with the typical ski season. This is a beautiful area and probably a truly lovely place to ski but this for me was the most disappointing part of fall fest. It was mostly beer tents and extremely overpriced food. 7 dollars per a person to ride on the ski lift. Insane lines to get down the mountain on the ski lift. On top of the mountain was only more food and beer and a crappy band. Don't waste your time at the cafe past breakfast they only have one customizable sandwich and avoid John Harvard's like the plague. The resort was beautiful and seemed to be in amazing upkeep however it was not impress to me during fall fest. read more

a lot of trails for skiers and snowboarders of all levels! There are plenty of easier slopes for those who are beginners and intermediates, and some blacks for more advanced athletes. The lift passes are a bit pricey but still cheaper than many other resorts. I haven't tried the mountain coaster but it looks pretty fun. read more

Love Holiday Valley! A wonderful skiing resort just about an hour south of Buffalo. They are finally open for the 2020 season. COVID conscious with mask requirements everywhere, except when you're skiing down the actual mountain/hill. Holiday Valley has great programs to learn to ski/snowboard, rentals and it's a well run facility. The slopes themselves don't compare too much to the west coast or even Vermont, but they do a great job with the terrain they are blessed with out in Ellicottville. The town of Ellicottville is really cute as well with plenty of great dining options. Staying on-premises will cost ya, but I've heard they have some nice lodging facilities as well. If you're looking to ski/snowboard for a day or evening, definitely check out Holiday Valley! read more

Great local ski resort, about an hour from most surrounding areas. I feel fortunate to have a well managed ski resort with regular grooming and snowmaking capabilities in such a close proximity to my home. I grew up skiing here every week with my family and look back fondly on those memories. Years later it is the same, a great way to get outside in the winter and have some fun. There are a lot of trails with variety of difficulty for all levels. Overall the trails are shorter than what is out west or in other areas but the resort does a great job with the terrain they have on site. There are many lifts and even an area with a magic carpet for beginners. There are also lessons, equipment rentals, lodging, food and beverages on site for purchase. Staff is always friendly and helpful. During covid times there is a mandatory/ strictly enforced rule to wear face mask when waiting for and riding the lifts and also when inside any of the lodges. You are also asked to get ready/ take breaks in your car, if possible, to cut down on crowds inside the lodges. Crockpots aren't currently allowed inside lodges due to trying to have less people inside. There is some reduced capacity this year, updates are posted on social media. Weekends and evenings are busy and it is best to buy tickets in advance. A great tip, if you are planning to go often, find a local ski club that will sell you a pass/ rentals which greatly reduces the cost per visit and offers some other perks as well. read more

This was a nice place, well organized and not too crowded nor expensive. The customer service staff was very helpful and friendly. Idk, I was under the impression ( from the commercials ) that you can do JUST zip lining, but that's not entirely correct. It's a climbing experience with zip lines between the climbing poles, yeah, I'm too old to do all that climbing. However, there are several "levels" from east to difficult. Still not interested, plus I was wearing clogs with the straps on the back of my ankles and that was not allowed. Must be a closed heal shoe. Which makes sense if you have to climb. Omg I don't even know where do start?!? First of all, we arrived at holiday valley and the staff were directing people where to park, so that wasn't a struggle at all! As soon as we started to walk to our location we saw a shuttle and we were relieved!! There was maybe one other person and ourselves in the shuttle. Everyone was wearing a mask! Once we were dropped off more staff members were there asking if we needed anything! Very friendly! Everything was easy to find because the staff made it easy!!! I had to rent ski and a helmet so I had to fill out a form very easy to complete. Everything was sold-out except the bunny hill which to be honest it's the only place I belonged. The place was packed!! It was valentines weekend and winter break form school!! The bunny hill was so much fun! I'm horrible at skiing! After many attempts of skiing I decided to quit, and go try the waffle stand that was directly at the bottom of the bunny hill!! It was delightful!!!! Honestly this place is so magical and beautiful!! I can't wait to go back and take some lessons! read more

Holiday Valley, this was my first time going... Man I was I in for an adventure. We arrived with a group of ppl and had such a blast! We paid by the hour which wasn't a bad deal at all, they offer single tubes as well as double tubes or you can link tubes with each other. They have offer refreshments for a small fee: hot choc, popcorn, nachos w/cheese, candy, etc... a restroom is available for both male and female. Outside they offer several tubes and even have a treadmill to carry you up to the top of the hill. This brought my inner child out and I had such an amazing time here at Holiday Valley. Last night 1/7/2024 around 8:30/9 pm someone from our group had their snowboard stolen from right outside the lodge. Holiday Valley is claiming not to have any security cameras and not offering any help to try and get the stolen property back. After calling the police and filing a report the officer told us they respond to multiple reports of stolen property at the resort every season. We love coming here and this is our first bad experience, but it is super disappointing to know that they do not take any action to prevent this from happening, nor do they have cameras to help the police get your stolen property back. read more

Holiday Valley is a great ski resort Located in upstate NY. We came from Cleveland, Ohio and it was an easy 3 hour drive. Had a room in one of the rentals on the mountain where we could store our ski equipment and ski from there, it was so easy!! They offer an awesome deal to do a lesson which includes rental and lift ticket. On friday night we did the snowboarding lesson. I was so impressed with the rental experience and quality of the equipment. The ski and snowboard instructors were superb and I definitely learned and improved my snowboarding. Ellicottville is a great little town with unique shops in the downtown. It's only a mile away! We only got to stop in the wine and liquor store, however we drove through the town and I'm looking forward to coming back for a longer visit to check it out. On Saturday we hit the slopes on our skis, me on my snow blades. Conditions were great and we made our way from one side of the mountain to the other. Grabbed a drink in one of the lodges and a snack while we took a break, it was easy to find space to sit as people are typically in and out. I had the fries and chicken strips and an adult beverage and was ready to head back out!! With 13 lifts, 60 slopes and trails, 3 base lodges, two hotels, a golf course, pools, aerial park and mountain coaster Holiday Valley has everything to offer in winter and summer!! read more

The stay and play golf package was ok not quite as described. When we arrived it was close to our tee time so even though we had not checked in yet they let us go out without bag tags. We checked in after then left the clubs to be stored for the next days round. The clubs were never cleaned just left in the cart pulled inside and back out the next morning. The course is very nice but was very wet. There was no 10.00 credit to the pro shop and when I asked about it they said we could get one but they would have to bill it to the room. The package was over 500 and you have to bill the credit to the room? The person i was speaking with said even your gift costs it's all built in. The gift wasn't impressive a leather bag to hand on your golf bag to keep your balls, tees etc . They said they had given ppl gift cards before for the prop shop and they had people give them back and ask them to apply to their room. We found the rounds at times a bit slow due to others in front of us not letting people through. I would hope during prime season there is a ranger and more structure. Overall the course is nice the Tamarack was nice place to stay but not sure we would do a stay and play vs staying somewhere less expensive. read more

Beautiful resort , have different mountains , small hills for kids to learn ski. Small waffle store there when you'll come down the hill to grab. Smell of the waffle makes you hungry Instructors are amazing, nice and friendly and teach really nicely. The resort is almost 1.5 hour away from Amherst, however the drive is smooth. Fun place for hang out with friends specially during winter. They have a class 10:30 and 1:30 every day of the week days and weekends. The lift take around 5 minutes to get up hill. Buffalo is not known as a mountainous area. But, it does have a nice ski resort nearby, an hour south in beautiful Ellicottville. If you're used to Whiteface, Stowe, or Killington, you might be surprised how fast folks are going down the runs. It's mostly because the runs aren't very long. There are ample moguls available in good weather, and lifts conveniently near its diamond runs. The lifts are slow, but the vertical isn't that high for it to take too long. The runs can be steeper than runs at other major ski resorts, which is great. But, those other resorts tend to have longer runs. Personally, I enjoy going fast down the runs. The rest of the accommodations are great at holiday valley and certainly as great as elsewhere. My only wish is that there could be other, faster lifts available. read more

We are just back from a fun and exhilarating weekend at Holiday Valley!! I am a beginner, but the rest of my group is pretty experienced, and there was something for everyone. There are loads of different runs at every level that are very well maintained. My favorite was Schoolhouse and Cindy's Run (great spot to practice) and my husband loved The Wall (I felt like I was having a heart attack watching him ski that beast!). The wait for the chair lifts was never longer than 3 or 4 minutes. All of the staff was incredibly friendly and happy. The resort itself is quaint; you feel like you've stepped into a Normal Rockwell painting! The restaurant at the main lodge is great (they serve you a little hot chocolate to start!! I mean...how fun is that??). We stayed in a ski-in/ski-out condo at Snowpine Village (by the Wall lift). My only complaint is that I wish they were closer to Cleveland ;-) We'll be back! read more

My family has been going to Holiday Valley for about as long as I can remember. I grew up cross-country skiing before my Dad started taking my sister and me here to learn downhill. We went back for opening weekend this past Saturday as a little memorial to Dad. Parking is pretty easy. There are people to direct you and signs telling where to go/not go. I was able to get a spot right by the lodge with no real trouble. There are attendants near lodge entrances to make sure people are wearing masks properly, this was consistent throughout the resort. Rentals and lift tickets are decently cheap. I priced it out a couple years ago against some other local ski resorts and it came out only a couple dollars more at Holiday, which considering how many more trails they have is a solid value as far as I'm concerned. You can reserve rentals and tickets online, which let us skip a couple lines. My experience with staff has always been that they're friendly and knowledgeable. There were only 8 trails open this weekend due to the weather. We skied everything except the terrain park and it was pretty nice, considering. Not icy or chunky, some brown areas, overall we had good runs. Closed trails were clearly marked. Lifts are pretty fast and the attendants will slow it down if you ask or if it looks like you're having trouble. All in all we had a good time despite the weather and I recommend Holiday Valley to anyone who enjoys winter sports. read more

Our family of 8 enjoyed ourselves immensely at this resort! As a essential employee in Corrections/DOCCS , we really needed to connect as a family! We choose an All day pass $29.00 pp with add-ons of chair-lift and a 10 ride package $65.00 on coaster! All day pass has a jewel/fossil hunt and 1 coaster ride included. But I knew my family would fall in love with the coaster! The $65 coaster package was perfect! The staff were warm and welcoming! The staff were all observed in compliance of social distancing and wearing marks as well as disinfecting equipment on grounds! Our 1st encounter was from Pam during the ticket and paperwork process! She knows her job okay!!! I watched in line and eavesdropped on others a head of me and Pam answered everything in a breeze and kept it running smoothly! The staff inside (The Harness Room Crew ?) were very professional and friendly towards us and asked if we needed help putting on harness or they could talk us through, uuuh, no! Put this on me please so i don't fall out a tree! They were respectful because of Covid-19, I get it, but it was so much quicker to have it done by the professionals! The next adventure was The Climbing Tree! Encounter #2 Nick was awesome to hang with and have spotting us and encouraging us to the top! My son 11 got to the Blue Tree top as well as my Brother in law! It was a day to remember by all of us! #3 encounter was Brian, he gave us so much information on future returns all year round and made great suggestions to activites for adults, family orientation themes! We were there 4 1/2 hours, the kids told us they were pooped out, can we go home!!! Our whole experience was fantastic not only because of the attraction the staff who work there year round! We apprectiate you for helping us make memories and we are definitely spreading the word! read more

Coming from Pittsburgh, this is one of the best ski resorts fit for a weekend trip. They receive generous amount of snow, and when there isn't much snowfall, they have good snowmaking/grooming. In addition to the skiing, staff at the resort is extremely friendly and helpful, says a lot about the town of Elicotteville. Special shout out to the lost and found team, and the person who found my cellphone, they called me as soon as they found it (I lost it on the slopes) Overall a great resort with a number of trails for all ski levels. read more

This place is super cool although I did not know it was super pricey to snowboard was awesome I would like to say that everything is extremely expensive here in the gift shop but it is a well put together gift shop and I actually love that about it so when me and my friend arrive we found out that they had close down the slope where they usually train first timers so we had no choice but to go down the slopes that were meant for skiers and snowboarders that are used this doing this type of activity. So the staff was kind enough to verbally brief us on how to stop the board but wasn't much help anyways we got off the lift and began to start the trail we fell the entire way down it was very painful and somewhat discouraging! We had to get help to get us back to the main building. And lastly I wish they had more options on what it was that we were able to eat we had a little bakery down there with some lunch breakfast and dinner options but I just wish I had a bigger variety overall I would recommend this place read more

Simply pathetic! It's March 15th and only one chair and TWO runs are open! Mgmt. says it's due to rain. The rain stopped before they opened. It's due to the lack of snow they never made when they could have. Inventory of snow looks like large mounds by the side of the trail called "whales". Seasons past they knew this. This year, none. A 5 year old could run this place better. Mgmt also claimed they received 8" of snow earlier in the week when only 4" fell. I live here. Of the two open runs, you had to ski over rocks to enter the runs and of course no grooming on the runs. And they charge a lot of money for this? The scary thing is that in their e-mail Mgmt said they would only open "weather permitting". A threat to all skiers of course. Seems to me they want to close to lighten their work load and are looking for any excuse to do so. Ski the fully covered Holimont next door. read more

Holiday valley is probably one of the better places I've been to snowboard. I appreciate them offering a variety of passes. My friends and I are ultimate Sunday passholders and I think it's a great deal for anyone who goes more than 4 times in a season. I know they can't control the weather but my hope is that there is less ice and more snow on the trails. Been going to the Valley since the 70's & I'm not gonna stop any time soon. However, I can say the snow making & management of said snow was the worst I can remember. I know the Vally faces east south-east & get much sun- I LOVE THAT! But...this year soooo much snow was made in place's that didnt serve the 'arteries' of the ski resort. It VERY frustrating to see skiable slopes but not able to access them because no snow at lift base/s. By comparison, I skied Holimont a few times and their snow management was real, real good. And yes, I know their slopes are almost all due north, ie., less light, but even taking into account the awful winter we had in WNY for snow, too much time, money and labor went into making snow in places that were not 'valuable' to serving the 4 or 5 most important runs at the Valley. Hope this year was a learning experience for the snow crew. read more

This is honestly the worst customer service experience I've ever had. Last year I bought my lift pass & rental in advance to save time at the hill. I woke up with the flu day of and gave the rental to someone in our group. When they spoke to the staff at rentals & explained the situation - the staff assured them I'd be able to get rebook for another day or get a refund "no problem" since I was sick & to just contact customer service. Called that afternoon and couldn't get through. Then tried for the next 2 weeks and still couldn't get through - they don't have voicemail. I submitted a request using the contact form on their site - never got a response. Then found an email address through the contact button on their instagram page. Our trip was January - I got my 1st response end of Feb. They said I could get a refund if I provided a doctor's note. Since we're from Canada - I couldn't just pop into my doctors office while sick (the flu isn't something the average person would even go to a doctor for), so my doctor couldn't write the note without having seen me. We were planing on going back in March so I responded asking if I could simply have a rain check for the lift pass to use when we went again, instead of a refund. This email was ignored and I never got a response. The fact that I waited weeks for a response, only to have a customer service rep give a completely different answer than the staff onsite gave our group shows a pretty inconsistent understanding of policies among staff. I was frustrated with how hard it was to reach customer service then extremely disappointed by the the lack of response, especially after our group was assured getting a raincheck wouldn't have been a problem at all. We planned another trip for this year - so I followed up asking for a response on the matter only to have a customer service employee (shockingly) call me a few hours later to give the same regurgitated response. I explained the situation - she gave zero remorse for the lack of response or how difficult it was to contact them and insisted their staff was perfectly trained on their policies - which clearly isn't the case. She was incredibly rude and her "solution" was to have me come into customer service so she could print off the return policy for me to review. She said without a doctors note they "don't legally have to give me a refund since I can't prove I was sick," a pretty pathetic customer service response to someone who was a return customer simply asking for a raincheck. As if they'd rather I just showed up puking to prove I was sick. I'd hope that after the pandemic you would want to ensure the health & safety of your guests & would actually encourage them to stay home when ill. Our group of 6 has visited the last two years and won't be back if this is the kind of "customer service" they feel is appropriate - especially for returning business. read more

Prime skiing for any expert or beginner! All 750 feet of vertical elevation and 13 different ski lifts will help the flow of traffic at the base of the mountain. Being from NE Ohio this is the best ski resort to travel to by vehicle for a weekend getaway on the slopes. Morning to night skiing is well worth it. This is nothing compared to the mountains out west but if you live in the Midwest and want a solid mountain to ski/snowboard I would recommend Holiday Valley. The terrain park is solid and the black diamond runs are challenging. Very family friendly and a great ski town. The downtown of Ellicotville is a short drive away where it's fit for whatever you're looking for! Holiday Valley Resorts is great for either a nice family outting or a weekend with your friends. read more

This resort is the go to for any skiers, snowboarders or winter enthusiasts! Beautiful area surrounded by a ton a slopes and trees. I've been here multiple occasions and during multiple seasons. It's always beautiful! For skiing or snowboarding, I like to go after 3 (cheaper lift tickets!!) and I would recommend taking a lesson if you're new to winter sports. Check their website for special promotions too! Staff is always friendly and the bar has a nice variety of beer and liquor to wash away any of the aches and pains from falling. Great summer weekend! My friend and I took our 11 year old boys here for the weekend. What a blast! Fantastic pool complex with diving board, big slide and hot tubs! Food was terrific - healthy salads plus yummy junk food - try the Bavarian pretzels! And, the drinks don't disappoint - thank you Amy! ;) Huge pool bar plus games outdoors - skeeball, foosball, table shuffleboard. Hotel rooms at the resort were clean. First time skiing, so I really don't have anything to compare it to. Overall, I had a good time, though my stress levels were at an all time high for constant fear of dying. Crowds were fine, even at the longest lift lines, we easily got on within 5 minutes. I never felt like anyone was crowding me on the slopes or anything like that. In fact, everyone on the slopes was rather accommodating of me being a first-timer! The key was getting there early--getting rentals and a locker was a breeze at around 930. But it was super crowded at around 4pm when trying to return everything. We stopped by the small lodge near the tannenbaum lift. They had some drinks, chicken tenders, and fries--nothing special, but definitely satisfying! The main lodge had a small Starbucks that also served some sandwiches. I didn't explore much to see if there were other eating/sitting options, but I sure hope there were! My favorite part was the worker who greeted/said bye to you outside by the stairs. The guy was so friendly and supportive of my skiing adventure. He told us which trails to go on for beginners and what to work up to. He was just so jolly, and a great way to start the day! Also, if you're a first-timer like me (and I'm not a winter sport or adrenaline kid of person, so I might be on the lower end of beginner skiing ability) but the bear cub(paw?) trail was green, but it's rather treacherous! Very steep and windy (for me). I was falling at every other turn just to keep from running into a tree or falling off the edge! The end takes you to the bottom of one of the black diamond runs--kind of cool to be able to watch people going down, but also super intimidating to be kind of on the same slope as them. This green should be called "bear claw" instead to reflect how scary it is!! read more

I am sitting in the lodge while my husband skis. I was pleasantly surprised to find 4 comfortable chairs right in front of the fireplace. We brought our lunch, as did most of the people here today, so I cannot comment on the food choices available here. I think many bought only something to drink. The lounge is a very large room and not crowded today, a Wednesday. I suspect most, if not all, the tables , which seat 8, are all in use on weekends and school holidays. For me, a very comfortable place to sit and read my book :-) read more
