She treated me for severe inflammation which caused the inflammation by a combination of cupping, bleeding and acupuncture including electrodes in several of the needles. When I started treatment, I could only walk about 100 feet before pain and found it difficult to sleep. After three sessions, my inflammation was reduced to the degree that I could sleep soundly and walk a block without pain. After ten treatments, I was able to walk for up to six miles without pain She is a good listener, asks for feedback and great in finding the different connective points to treat the ailments. As a former employee of Dr. Tian and Bethesda Acupuncture (having left in January 2021 on maternity…read moreleave), there was no one else on my list to call when I was diagnosed with shingles by my PCP in August. As a relatively healthy 29 year old, and a new mom, shingles was the last thing I ever thought I would have developed. Dr. Tian assured me in an initial telehealth consultation that not only was I not alone in being relatively young and having shingles (courtesy of extra high levels of stress, and adjusting to a new life as a parent) but that there was a great deal we could do to treat the itching, pain, and to prevent postherpetic neuralgia. The office fit me in for an appointment same day and so began my treatments. I'm thrilled to say that just over a month later, I am 99.9% shingles free. Dr. Tian worked with me to manage my shingles, but also to address some additional postpartum concerns (PPA, PPD, back pain, etc). She even assisted with the scarring I have left from the shingles and prescribed a derma roller 3x a week. I can report also that I sleep much more soundly (When my daughter allows!), I have minimal back pain, and my mood is so significantly improved and consistent I am almost completely off the medication I was put on for PPA. Given that I knew Dr. Tian and the practice prior to going as a patient, I knew cleanliness is one of their top priorities - even if a global pandemic was not part of the equation. I felt comfortable in the office each and every time I was there, knowing the staff all wear PPE including face masks and shields, and there are multiple state of the art air filtration and purifying machines throughout the office space. In addition to the detail with with the office is maintained, Dr. Tian also explained each and every step at my first appointment, and was always quick to answer any questions I had. Whether I was curious what needle related to what symptom, or about why I was feeling twitchy during an appointment. A simple "I recommend Dr. Tian and her entire team at BAWM" is not enough - I would shout it from the rooftops to anyone willing to listen and anyone suffering, not only from shingles, but from any ailment or concern, as Dr. Tian will look not only at what is bothering you, but will look at "the whole picture". I will now and forevermore hesitate to see anyone else for acupuncture, or any TCM treatments knowing the due diligence Dr. Tian gives all of her patients, and the care she puts into each and every appointment she sees.

Dr. Lee is an amazing doctor who really cares and listens to you. She is very knowledgeable about…read morehuman anatomy and physiology, and works hard to see her patients. If you are suffering from a chronic condition she will fit you in, and she has a great personality. She specializes in helping chronic cases including sports injury, inflammatory disease, and immune syndromes that are rare. No illness puts her off and she will be honest with what she can do for you. What I like best about her is that she does not use toxic medications and is supportive even if you cannot use what usually works for other people. She will work with you until you are well, and if you relapse or develop a new medical issue she won't give up on you. I started off seeing her for Schoenfeld's Syndrome. Even though she was unfamiliar with it she believed me unlike another doctor (Dr. Shafai) at this practice. She treated me to remission in 10 weeks.
