Wow!! Dr. Callaway - I was and still am impressed. Her service from beginning to end was above and beyond. Why aren't all my doctors this way?? Why?? Her location can be a bit confusing. The sign shows a different set of numbers but she's literally to the right of them so don't be alarmed where the gps takes you! Her front desk staff was so helpful! I mean gave me a full run down of what to expect for pricing cause she was out of network. That's the only downfall - she's out of network! But the quality of care is unmatched. I saw the reviews some said they had bad experiences and some said it was awesome like mine. I will say she takes Medicaid so most of her patience are probably not educated in their health and well being like some of us others. This may cause her to share more information or "instruction" causing an eyebrow raise. At first I was like why is she telling me all this like I'm a child? (Again first impression). Then I took a step back and realized, a lot of women have no clue of their Health or the system and she does! She's the expert so I listened closely. She addressed all my concerns and actually had real reasons and conclusions to some of the issues I did not receive resolution from from previous western doctors. Absolutely top notch engaged care. Hard to find a doc like this now that will take their time with you, ask insightful questions, and take an investigative approach to care. I would not recommend this doctor to family, friends or strangers. I was a bit leery driving up to the building as the office location is in a very sketchy environment. I was early for my exam and waited in my car for a few minutes. I was hesitant to even get out of my car as I looked around the parking lot, but I did so against my better judgment. I felt a bit relieved when I walked in because the front desk person was extremely warm and kind. That experience was short-lived as I was led to the exam room minutes later and met Dr. Callaway. From the very beginning Dr. Callaway came across as very cold, unfriendly, and uncaring. She was not gentle during my exam and spent most of the time talking at me. My appointment lasted well over 3 hours which was unnecessary and excessive. Overall, her bedside manner is very poor. As a healthcare practitioner myself, I would never treat any patient the way I was treated by Dr. Callaway and I will not go back. read more

I was pretty hopeful finding this place... I was excited by the "holistic" name... And after needing to get some questions answered I made an appointment here with Dr Colloway.... The nurse who brought me back and was with the dr the whole time was very personable and warm... However, I can't say the same for Dr Colloway... A gynecologist or someone who is looking into your privates etc, you would hope them to be warm or atleast personable. From the beginning I felt like she kinda judged me... She just had an unpleasant look on her face from the moment she walked into the room.... Yay!!!... On top of that she made comments that really didn't sit well with me... I am not a very insecure person--- so I can't imagine the types of comments if they were to a woman or young girl who was really insecure... Especially in such uncomfortable situations she wasn't very supportive nor real nice in general. My concern ended up being something pretty common and normal for a woman... But how she came across wasn't very caring for someone who hadn't experienced that issue before... She made comments, asking if I had been burned?...I'm pretty sure she was referring to my odd shaped stretch marks or my skin just being pink and irritated? No? And no other doctor has ever asked me that... It didn't seem concerned or her being thorough... It seemed more offended/disgusted?... She went on to have difficulty locating my cervix and told me I should probably tell the next dr before hand that it's located differently???... Okay... You're the professional after all.. That one comment alone stuck with me (once again not the most insecure woman).. And my next appointment NOT there I told the woman oh and I was told that it's tucked back sorta so it may be harder to find blah blah and within seconds she told me, "well! I found it pretty easy..." Dr Colloway maybe lightened up toward the end of the visit- but the whole time she just seemed really disinterested and superior. Also- not sure where the holistic comes from.. Which brought me in. Otherwise I could have went to a planned parenthood and received better care. I was hoping to hear more preventative measures and a holistic approach and none of that was how it went.... I'm sorry, but most holistic or naturopathic practices aren't going to suggest inserting chemicals into yourself or write a prescription first... They may even explain more about the balance of the body and how that works... None of that happened here, however she did mention a probiotic, which I already knew about and was taking.... Overall, I was just disappointed. I didn't feel comfortable here.. And I'm comfortable just about anywhere..... I was misled by some of the reviews and I was really hopeful.. overall was just bummed after I left. Yea I got an answer to my question but like I said would have felt better somewhere else by a Dr who actually seemed like they wanted to help as opposed to a woman who seemed disinterested, judgy and superior. This has taken me about a year to review and I almost didn't....but I recently got a letter in the mail encouraging me to come back.. And I thought heck no. Dr Juaquita Callaway is an awesome gynecologist. She's easy to talk to, FULL of great up to date info and we laugh A LOT. After years of crappy health department care, I finally realised I needed better, so I stopped in her office one day as I was leaving my dentist down the hall. I've been a happy client ever since. Dr Callaway suggested a Mirena IUD, which I got and it's made my life a LOT better. She knows the proper way to insert the device and it was not a big deal at all. I've heard horror stories from other women about how painful it is to get an IUD, well, apparently that depends on the level of expertise of your gyno. The Dr and staff are THE BEST. I had two people tell me to check this doc out when I was debating next steps with my gyn doc who wanted to do a hysterectomy without exploring alternative options. I was not disappointed in Dr Callaway. She took lots of time talking to me about history and current issues and we have a plan going forward to try to determine the causes of the issues rather than just going after the symptoms. She is totally on board with me continuing with the acupuncture and Chinese herbs I have been trying as well and believes they may help too. This is the first time in years I've felt like I had a say in my medical care plan and that I'm not being told what to do but helping to decide what to do next. Really very pleased. First I'd like to start by saying I'm very much holistic and always am trying natural remedies to elevate stress or physical pain and these methods have always worked for me in the past! I was soooo excited when I was researching holistic gynecologist and found Dr Callaway's establishment. Upon scheduling my appointment whoever the receptionist was at the time was so nice and I was able to be seen by the Dr. to discuss all of my concerns and what not; this process lasted abt 2/3 hours and then the physical exam last maybe 15mins. I was able to get adequate service and most of my questions answered despite Dr. Callaway's unfriendly demeanor. After my 1st apt I had been recommended a few vegan products along with pharmaceuticals. After feeling like my medicine was not working I called back to schedule to speak with Dr Callaway about getting a new prescription, however I felt unwelcome by whoever had answered the phone this time. After receiving a call back later that day I was crushed to hear that Dr. Callaway was not trying to change my prescription but instead prescribe me higher dosages insisting that it's not the medication it's my anxiety (again I had already been expressing to her my symptoms and why I felt it wasn't working). She then insisted that I start getting on a medication for anxiety which I told her I was opposed to Bc again I like to practice holistic methods that Ik have been helping me, however after refusing she insist on telling me I don't understand and that I need to b taking this medicine or I'm going to b just "coping" with anxiety and essentially have it forever, this response didn't seem optimistic or hopefully abt methods of therapy, meditation and other natural stress relief remedies and instead she was shutting me down and cutting me off insisting I didn't know what I was talking abt and that she's the doctor and she knows best. I understand Doctors have a very time consuming job that can cause alot of stress, however when I would speak to Dr. Callaway her responses always sounded very harsh and judgmental as if she was trying to be more of a therapist. Overall my intentions are not to discredit this establishment Bc I did in the beginning get most of my questions answered and get treated to a degree, however when it comes to the name "Holistic Gynecologist" I would be cautious, nothing offered during my time with Dr Callaway was holistic asides from a few minor dietary changes and vegan wash products, she even insisted that my vegetarian diet wasn't going to be healthy also followed by her making comments on my personal life that made me feel really judged implying that I was "wasting my intelligence by not being in school" for the most part she heavily prescribed medications and other pharmaceutical methods and wasn't super different than a typical doctor that would only have spent 15mins examining you. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Calloway for 10 years. She is thorough, and I have never had to wait beyond my appointment time. I was hopeful in going to this place for fertility help, but I was sorely disappointed. The doctor seemed to know her stuff for the most part, but most of the time seemed cold and really not caring at all. Which is something that is obviously needed when dealing with patients with fertility issues. She made me feel as if my concerns did not matter, and I should just "trust" her. While that is fine, I am not a fan of being talked over and shut down if I have concerns. There was even an instance where I was basically told I was lying about a side effect of a medication, and that it couldn't be the medication...(I only had issues the two weeks I was on it) so I had to be doing something else to cause the problem...I even told the doctor about it the previous month, but was told I couldn't have told her because it wasn't in her notes....I was astounded. Needless to say I have found an incredible doctor at Georgia Reproductive Specialists, and I would never recommend this practice. read more

I was excited to find a holistic gynecologist in the area that could suggest natural ways to keep my body healthy. I went in for a standard annual exam and during the exam I inquired about what natural methods that she actually uses. To my surprise she doesn't use any natural or holistic Methods at all although she charges out of the pocket fees like a holistic doctors. Everything she recommended was a prescription and even when I inquired about other methods other than the prescription she didn't have great things to say about taking holistic approach she was even very negative about having a vegetarian diet and suggested that I consume meat to have a balanced diet. I was more than disappointed and feel as if the holistic should be dropped from the office name as I could have received the same treatment as a standard gynecologist. If you're looking for holistic please think twice about this location. read more

I visited Dr. Callaway's office today and felt very comfortable talking to her about my medical history. She was nonjudgmental,very thorough, and listened intently to my inquiries. Dr. Callaway was very attentive and spent a lot of time explaining in great detail what needed to be done for me to someday in the near future achieve pregnancy. Dr. Callaway not only spoke from a medical standpoint, but she also spoke of what to expect from an emotional and psychological stance.
