Stewart has been in the business for 22 years,and has that expertise that only comes with years and years of perfecting the craft. I found for the prices offered (especially considering the big branches of Vision Express and the like now opened on Byres Road) did not truly reflect the range, or quality, of products. However, I'm willing to chalk this up to a small independent store attempting to hang onto some old world reputation of high end products and customer service. Thus, I can say that this business provides the following services and does so well: expertise in digital hearing; free consultation; competitive prices; a local location (for those living in the South Side) and a non-sales focused customer service/delivery. At the very end there are white net curtains for sale something which is quite difficult to find these days as they've gone out of fashion. Near the entrance you can buy picture frames and handbags. Beyond these outlets there's a large stall selling pet supplies, especially cages of all sizes; a stall selling greetings cards and several others. Definitely worth a look!

Whilst it still has a very clinical feel to it - as a hospital should - it's considerably less oppressive for people who aren't big fans of the hospital environment. The ground floor hosts the day surgery, information desk and other public areas such as the cafe and toilets. The majority of the clinics are on the upper floors and are accessible by lift or stairs. The staff on the information desk are always friendly and very quick to answer any queries, which is comforting in this sort of environment. Stobhill also houses the local Minor Injuries and Out Of Hours clinics, which are accessed from a separate entrance round the side of the building. One of the big issues regarding Stobhill is the lack of parking. There are three car parks - one at the main entrance, one across the road and one slightly further down the hill - and they are pretty much always jam packed any time after 10am. I'd usually recommend arriving in plenty of time in order to get a space!

Part of…read morethe Queen Elizabeth Campus but with its own seperate entrance and inpatient areas this is the new Yorkhill as everyone calls it. When entering you are immediately overwhelmed by 2 things depending on the time of day. Its either light airy and peaceful or complete bedlam. That is because it was decided to make the main outpatients dept in the central atrium as its know. At night you will also find the Glasgow out of hours service located here which I dont feel is right to have it right in the middle of a childrens hospital. There is a small aroma coffee shop just inside the main entrance but that is all you will find here food wise apart from a few vending machines. The main canteen and other food outlets and shops are located over in the adult hospital. There is a link corridor that you can access the adult side without having to go outside. Whilst this is a lovely shiny and bright hospital I personally feel that it does not have the same feeling and personality as the old yorkhill.

If you're waiting to see someone about any of the community services, you take a numbered ticket from a dispenser and wait until called over to one of the windows at the large table over on the right. Unfortunately there are no chairs so you'll have to stand. Beyond this area, there is a separate reception desk for people wanting to visit a doctor, nurse or therapist. Here you can queue to speak to the receptionist or, if you have an appointment, you can check yourself in using a touch-screen on the wall (it's very easy add date of birth and touch buttons 'yes' or 'no' to get confirmation. It will also state if there is a delay). Everyone seems really friendly and helpful here, from the receptionists to the doctors and nurses. It's a clean and spacious modern building with a seating area where you can read a magazine and wait your turn. There's a large free car park right outside too.

Having recently discovered an unwanted growth on my testicle I decided it was time for a trip to…read morethe Glasgow Royal Infirmary. After a punctual arrival to the same day admission I was met with kind and welcoming nurses who took my name and got me seated. After a short wait I was met by the anaesthesiologist to go over the operation and then the surgeon. Both were well informed and kept me as ease. After a brief stint in the pre op room I was taken down to the bed I'd be knocked out on for a couple hours. I was wheeled calmly to the room, injected with some awfully cold fluids and work up two hours later feeling like a dog who just returned from the vets. Sore and feeling sorry for myself, I was met with dinner and drinks and just the most lovely team of dedicated nurses. minus leaving like I was walking 9 months pregnant and a little unsure if I can reproduce or not, I was well looked after and well fed. Only room for improvement is making the fluid pumped into me room temperature, maybe heat it up in the microwave before or leave it on the radiator. Cheers, Tim.
