Note: I am just getting around to Yelping many service providers I used in the past couple of years. This is one of them. This service provider was a referral from a Counter top installer I have used in the past. Douglas came through for me when others simply refused to quote the project or were asking for an insane amount of money, which in my book, meant they did not want the job. Douglas understood what I wanted and why. His price was fair. He met his delivery date and produced exactly what I wanted, paint grade quality products. The back story: We had a water leak from an upper level bath tub Diverter Spout. The water ran down walls destroying six of them. All six walls were stripped down to the framing and had to be rebuild. I previously mentioned to my husband I wanted to utilize the space under the stairway for storage. Knowing we had to rebuild the walls, my husband said time to create the storage space you want! We moved the wood studs (visible in image 1) over slightly to allow the required openings needed and to maintain stairway support. See Images 2 & 3 to view his work / installation in progress. We added the Moulding trim (found at World of Moulding in Santa Ana, CA) to frame and finish the new door and drawer. We then painted the newly installed items to match other Doors and Moulding in our home. (see images 4,5 & 6). I love when I see my ideas become a reality! He came out to our office, measured the space and also explained in layman terms what would be required and done. After 8 bids from other licensed contractors, my company, Rok Hardware, ended up hiring United Restoration. They were the friendliest, most professional and best bid by far! We received an estimate quickly and all the documentation/insurances that our commercial business leasing office required. The best part, the job was done professionally, completed within 3 days and the project costed exactly what we were quoted, not a penny more! They knocked down some walls in our office/warehouse building, created a couple of openings to join rooms, fixed the celling to match the new open layout, and added all the finishing touches (re-textured/painted and drywalled all raw areas). We were tearing out our large tub shower and making it a walk in. We interviewed about 10 companies and Da Vinci has the most comprehensive bid and some of the best pricing we found. Ron was easy to reach all along the way. His construction crew was efficient and knowledgeable. Pedro over saw the demo and install and has years of experience. He did everything to code. Pablo worked his tail off demo'ing and rebuilding our new walk in design. Jorge did the most AMAZING Tile job. It was perfection. All lines and measurements and spacing was to a tee. The Hot mop company was excellent also! The finish flooring crew came in and worked quickly and installed everything to spec. We had some plumbing issues once the demo was done and needed to do some changes to that. The Plummer who came out from the company was quite pricey so we were able to contract our own separately at a much lower rate. We used Nick from Sterling pluming. Honest and reliable and upfront with all of his pricing! The shower glass door was included in the bid. Very nice since most others had that as a separate line item. The shower door is beautiful but had a small leak in seal at bottom. The company was suppose to call us back to come and better seal it but never called us. My husband easily bought his own caulking and repaired it himself. We bought our tiles at MSI in Orange. One of the best and largest and gives all kinds of free samples. Highly recommend them. I also highly recommend picking your shower plumbing and supplies from Ferguson Plumbing . Their showroom in Irvine was GORGEOUS! And they were so knowledgeable. They take walk ins but make an apt if going on a weekend. Our shower is gorgeous and turned out to be our dream retreat. Thanks Ron!

So here ya go, I needed to get a gate built on the side fence of my house, and to have an area grated and prepped to park an RV on. I looked quite a few places and settled on Craig's List, looking for companies that were local, as well as licensed and bonded. While I have no problem hiring someone that is neither, the last time I did I got four grand worth of cracked concrete, enough said. Anyway, I found Done Right Contracting on Craig's list and gave them a call. After several calls back and forth a the owner came to my house and gave me a bid. It seemed a little bit steep: $2100 total, $1400 for grating and placing decomposed granite in my back yard and $700 to construct a gate, but I thought that since he was a licensed and bonded contractor with a long history in the field the job would be done right. WRONG!!! My first mistake was that I thought when you hired a licensed contractor that he would do the work, not so. He showed up with a 55+ year old hispanic gentleman who he quickly put to work while he "managed" the job site. Evidently this job was more than the gentleman signed up for because on the second day he failed to show up and I was told that he quit. Now, I was told, I would get a fantastic gate because the owner himself would be building it. (there are many words which I would use to describe the "gate" that he built me for $700, none of which are fantastic, nor would they be allowed to remain on Yelp! so I will let you figure it out) Anyway, upon completion I came home and saw the finished products. First I called him to ask when he would complete the parking area and was told "it's done". Looked like dirt on top of dirt, but I was told that was what decomposed granite looked like. OK, serves me right for not doing MORE research. Lets get to the $700 gate. First he left the original rotting 4x4's and simply tied into them. Then he recycled the old hardware from my original gate and used it. And, oh yeah, the gate DOES NOT open. "Well, thats because of the weight of the treated wood. Call me in about 6 weeks and Ill take a look at it". What kind of mickey-mouse outfit is this? I had to purchase wheels which I mounted to the bottom of the gate so that it would open, I had to purchase a lock to mount into the ground so that the gate would not swing forward when the wind blew. I had to call 4 times before the guy would even come back and look at it, to which he responded " look, your a long way away. I will get there when I get a chance, but you got what you paid for." Well I beg to differ, I got a piece of crap 7th grade wood shop project called a gate, built from $165 in treated lumber (much of which was discarded because he mis-cut), that would not and could not open. So, I guess what I am trying to pass along to you, the potential consumer, is that if you want to severely over-pay for a project, the quality of which your daughters girl scout troop could complete in a day, and deal with a complete imbecile who cares nothing about the quality of his work or the name of his company; well you've come to the right place! Your better off spending $17.00 for the do-it yourself book at Home Depot and hoping for the best.

One tree was missing a drip, and ALL drips were not staked so they blow all over the place with wind and water pressure! I asked him why he charged $800 for drips, which is TWICE more than others.
